MSc in Project Management 'The furnace in which careers are forged'
The MSc in Project Management is a 12-month full-time programme that has been designed specifically for graduates who wish to develop their career in this important field of management, and who seek to focus their vocational interest in project management. The course draws students together from a broad cross-section of academic backgrounds (including the arts, social sciences, pure and applied sciences). The strength of this diversity is that it allows us to explore Project Management in a generic and dynamic manner. The course provides the opportunity for this type of graduate to develop the skills, knowledge and critical appreciation of Project Management required to allow them to embark upon a successful career in project-based organisations. To do this, the MSc draws upon the strengths of the departments within the Management School, providing a multi-disciplinary approach to the teaching of management techniques. Whilst there are considerable synergies between management and Project Management there are also a number of fundamental differences, specifically that projects are of a fixed duration and will normally have multiple stakeholders each with differing (or competing) requirements. Likewise, the outcome of the project will be perceived differently by the varying stakeholders (some focusing on the quality of the product, whilst others would look at the timeliness or the cost). These characteristics place project management in the field of transformational management rather than transactional operations management.

When traditional diagnostic technologies fail, Knowledge Industries' commercial Bayes Networks techniques successfully capture all nuances of how domain experts perform diagnostics. In domains where test costs are high, Knowledge Industries' diagnostic software can reduce operations and maintenance costs by suggesting the next test to perform and reducing the chances of unecessary tests. In domains where there are a limited number of experts, Knowledge Industries can multiply existing diagnostic expertise to increase the productivity of your organization. If your business is servicing high volumes of diagnostic requests, you will find that your cost to service product faults will decrease and your customers' satisfaction will increase through the use of KI's diagnostic software.
