Tell us about your progress as an e-published author. How has this new technology benefited you as a writer? Before any chapter is sent out, it is e-mailed to my publisher and the date of creation is, of course, on that e-mail. Over 100 people are reading the chapters each week and they are 100 witnesses should they ever be needed to testify against a thief. Since the list is highly visible and with that many members, I doubt anyone would be foolish enough or stupid enough to try to plagiarize the work. If they do, they will be sued. One of my publishers, DLSIJ Press, is sponsoring the serial novel and has obtained an ISBN for it. I would classify it as a romantic fantasy novel intended for an adult audience. The story starts as Gillian Cree and her brother Nick suddenly find themselves in the middle of a snowstorm and by accident end up meeting prince Kaelan Hesar, Gillians only true love that abandoned her years ago. Now she is fleeing from being married to another man while Kaelan is living alone, exiled and left to die by the people in the nearby village. Now Charlotte Boyett-Compo tells the story by shifting back and forth between present and past to tell the "real" story of both Gillian and Kaelan. Windkeeper is the story of a young man scarred, in more ways that one, who is salvaged by a ravishing heroine and an extraordinary impetuous love.  I expected more out of the detestable villains and suspect I've been set up to see more from them in book two. The ending is predictable, but it's great fun getting there.  The reading is easy. The pace is fast.    Charlotte propels readers through a wide range of intense emotions from anguish to impassioned ecstasy.  I was brought to tears by characters so real I mourned with them. The ability to reveal a world through her characters is an indication of Charlotte's skill and talent.  She has created a midlevel place where half the people have magic powers and the other half is illegitimate, interesting values.  Serenia is a world where children are cherished, regardless of the circumstances of their conception, breech of a marriage contract is severely and brutally punished, but the 'double standard' is alive and well.

LB First of all could you please tell the visitors to the Magical Romance Website a little bit of background about yourself and how you decided on a career in writing. CC I was born in Sarasota, FL where my mother had gone with my adoptive parents to give birth to me. They lived in Colguitt, GA, a town of about 500, and thought it easier for her to give me up in Sarasota than in Colquitt. I do not know who my birthmother was and will most likely never know. When my mother and father passed away 4 years ago, they took her identity to the grave with them. It was quite a shock at age 47 to learn you are adopted and your whole life was a lie. The knowledge has changed me in ways I cannot begin to describe to you, but it has helped me to understand why I always felt like an outsider in the families of my mother and father. After my parents' deaths, his family completely disowned me, not even sending flowers or condolence cards for their funerals. I was never a part of them and they made it plain they wanted nothing more to do with me. I married my high school sweetheart, Tom, right after graduation and we just celebrated our 35th anniversary on July 10. We have two sons: Pete and Mike. Pete is married and has two children: Preston and Victoria. Mike is in the looking stage still. At age 30, I'm hoping the looking won't take too long! :)

The Tragic Hero Charlotte Boyett-Compo Not since his mother died had he felt this kind of pain. He had put his tears aside then, as he had put his childhood aside, but now hot tears of sorrow slowly ran down his flushed cheeks to scald him. His hand trembled as he reached up to brush away the treacherous signs of his weakness. He gazed down in confusion at the wetness which clung to his fingertips, staring at it for a long time before he let his hand fall to his side, and he gave way to the tears. His proud shoulders sagged as his entire body shook from the effort to hold back the wrenching sobs. He tried desperately to stop himself from whimpering with the pain, but his tears grasped him with unsheathed claws, tearing at his vital organs, ripping away at him with a vengeance. With his fists tightly clenched, he sank slowly to his knees to the cold ground and his head fell forward to his chest as unstoppable sobs burst from him and a piteous moan came from his very depths. Wrapping his arms tightly around himself, he began to rock back and forth with the rhythm of his pain, gripping himself so tightly the flesh along his rib cage began to bruise, but the agony of losing Liza cut too deep for him to feel physical discomfort.
