Similar to Taigh Ceilidh - the Ceilidh House. Mats Melin Mats Melin was born and brought up in Stockholm, Sweden. His dancing background began at the age of eleven, when he hung up his ice skates in favour of dancing pumps and took up Scottish Country Dancing - his interest stemming from a fascination in things Celtic - primarily Scottish and Irish music, culture, and history. The first years concentrated on Scottish Country Dancing and Mats first performed with the RSCDS Stockholm Branch¹s demonstration team at the age of 12 and it was not long before he started assisting the teachers. However, Mats¹ interest quickly turned to solo dancing as well and he taught himself his first Highland Dances from books which he had borrowed. In 1980 Mats joined the Stockholm Caledonian Dance Circle (SCDC), and soon ran their solo dance classes as well as becoming one of four Scottish Country Dance teachers teaching on a regular basis.

Extractions: For Law Times Her two teenage sons were excelling at school, she was winning a four-year battle with disabling migraines that had forced her to cut back her practice at Nelligan O'Brien Payne LLP to part-time, and she was planning her summer wedding to one of Canada's top labour leaders. MacLean was one of Canada's top labour lawyers, representing public service workers and air traffic controllers in long-running disputes with the federal government. She also won a landmark case in 1989 that forces the government to offer retraining to laid-off federal workers to fill job vacancies. MacLean was struck by a car driven by Andrei Knyazev, 45, the third-ranked diplomat at the Russian embassy, who was in charge of monitoring Canada's political situation. Knyazev was returning to his residence from an ice fishing party. Police said he was visibly impaired, and charged him with five offences, including impaired driving causing death and refusing to provide a breath sample. Top Knyazev claimed diplomatic immunity under the 1961 Vienna Convention. He returned to Russia two days after the accident. A second Russian diplomat, charged with impaired driving the same afternoon in another part of the city, went back to Moscow with Knyazev.
