Extractions: "Misha Keylin has gamely taken up Vieuxtemps cause .[He] brings displays a gorgeous, rounded tone and a distinctively Russian phrasing style to both works. His nuanced readings fully convey the operatic impulse that drives the violin writing, and he has the technique to sail easily through the virtuosic flourishes that make Vieuxtemps violin works the showpieces they are." - THE NEW YORK TIMES (USA) "By good fortune Naxos has chosen a splendid player to introduce us to Nos. 2 and 3. The Russian artist, Misha Keylin, emigrated to the USA at the age of nine and by 15 was already a soloist at Carnegie Hall. His timbre is rich, with a duskily subtle control of color, his technique impeccable, and there is the kind of Slavonic flair that can bring such lightweight but masterly concertos fully to life.... [Keylin] phrases most enticingly, in a heartfelt but never cloying manner [and] his touches of rubato, his quixotic color-changes and dynamic shading constantly add to listeners pleasure. [In the 3rd Concerto] the solo entry, with its rhythmic snap, is arresting the darkly eloquent [Adagio] cantilena is superbly caught and in the finale [Keylin] plays with infectious and captivating insouciance, the fireworks sparkling at every capricious turn, the lightness of his bowing sheer joy. The Naxos recording is first-rate a genuine bargain."

Violin Discographies A very good discography of this wonderful violinist, who has keylin, misha. Huberman URL http//pl.net/~holsem/huberman/huberman.htm Name of page http://www.cremona.u-net.com/glossary.htm
Extractions: The following web sites all have pages listing details of the recordings of the artist to which the link refers. Many researchers will find these lists invaluable. Alas, no two discographies are alike. Many discographers compile lists of only the recordings and the catalogue numbers. But some also list recording dates and a very few include matrix numbers. The occasional list will supply recording details including location information. Very few follow the conventions for writing discographies, but never the less provide the required information. We may never achieve uniformity on these pages, but so long as they are available, the information will be available for future use. Violin Land would like to thank every hard-working and diligent discographer, for, without them it would be a sadder world. A B C D ... Violin Companion Ferrara. This was a multiple event, commencing with a concert by thebrilliant young American violinist misha keylin. misha keylin http://www.cremona.u-net.com/lavilla.htm
Extractions: O n the 2nd October I was the guest of Professor Gianluca La Villa at the launch of his book "Violin Companion" in Ferrara. This was a multiple event, commencing with a concert by the brilliant young American violinist Misha Keylin. Misha Keylin played Vieuxtemps Violin Concerto #2 and Saint-Seans Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso. After the concert there was a presentation when Gianluca's book was officially launched. There were several speakers who were all agreed that the book will to be a valuable reference for lovers of the violin who are not necessarily trained as violinists. The book also affords a good overview of the major violin repertoire and will most certainly introduce new works to its readers. Later that evening there was a celebratory dinner with a great many distinguished visitors from various countries together with Italy's distinguished violin maker Roberto Regazzi of Bologna who was also present. T he following list of the book's chapters clearly indicates the repertoire covered by the book. Each chapter contains references to works by the composers and the authors recommended recordings past and present. Like all lovers of the violin Gianluca has his own personal heros, who it must be said were Titans of the violin during their alloted time in the violin world. 1. The Soloist, 2.
