2-0 out of 5 stars Book falling apart
this book was written up as used - acceptable. When I received the book, the cover was torn off the back of the book.In looking at the plastic bag it was shipped in, I saw that there was NO rips/tears on the bag. This means that the cover of the book was torn off the book BEFORE it was shipped. You should really think hard when choosing the status of your book when buying used from this company.

5-0 out of 5 stars The only Bible a skeptic will ever need.....
I ordered this bible from bellwetherbooks and the condition of the book was even better than advertised. I am not one to typically write reviews and so this will be short. My reason for purchasing this particular bible is to have a non denominational bible that is filled with the facts and no dogma whatsoever. I do not intend it to be anything more than an education for debate as i am a recovering pentecostal and have recently deconverted and now will refer to myself as Douglas Adams once did, A Radical Atheist. If you are a skeptic at any point in your journey toward escaping the grasp of religion this is an excellent version to purchase! The New Oxford Annotated Bible, Augmented Third Edition, New Revised Standard Version should be in every skeptics library!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Scholar Translation
This is a great version for anyone interested in the original translations and intentions. I have worked with two professors who could read Hebrew and one who could read Greek and all three recommended this version as being closest to the text in its orginal languages. Most of the low reviews seem to complain of this Bible's inability to stand up to the translations they are familiar with, but most of those, like King James, are inferior translations, although popular ones. If you are looking for a Bible that will 100% hold up to belief, this is probably not the one for you. It translates from the original with notes on the text that explain difficult to translate words and passages, but it does not back up 'scripture' as it is taught in church or synagogue. If you want to read one of the closest translations to the original text out there, though, this is the study Bible for you. Great for students, both religious and secular, who want to know more about the original authors. This is also great paired with Who Wrote the Bible?by Richard Elliott Friedman.

As far as the binding/print/etc., they are all very good. The pages, like most Bibles, are thin and the print is a little small, but easily readable and the notes on the text are easily accessible at the bottom of the page. I have used this extensively with little wear and tear. Since the pages are thin, I have ripped the top of a few of them. Other than that it has held up well.

3-0 out of 5 stars Incomplete
Ahlan Wa Sahlan is a textbook. This fact is important because without the benefit of having an instructor the layout of this book is likely to frustrate people studying independently.Having used this textbook for Arabic 1 and Arabic 2 at the university level I can attest that this book has some serious flaws.

The first thing most people notice when they open Ahlan Wa Sahlan is the typeset and the graphics. The book simply looks old and outdated. Photos are grainy and pixilated and despite some graphic enhancements for the new edition this book still has the look of a textbook 20 years old. The accompanying CD and DVD are well produced but it is apparent that this is the real extent of the "updated" edition. This in itself wouldn't be a problem but the book's also presents fundamental flaws early on. First, Arabic script is introduced in the very first chapter without any transliteration or translation, and this pattern repeats itself consistently throughout the book. This is critical because studies have shown that language learning is often facilitated by side-by-side translations. It is crucial that beginning students of Arabic quickly associate the completely foreign looking alphabet with English equivalent letters, words and sounds.

As with any new subject, repetition is key, but Ahlan Wa Sahlan pays superficial attention to things like Arabic numerals and then jquite humerously simply starts using them. Advanced students often find themselves flipping pages wildly in search of information (barely) covered in earlier chapters. Likewise, the index is confusing with no "quick" guides to grammar rules, vocabulary or useful phrase for basic communication.

On a deeper level, the explanation of the Arabic verbs ya and waw and the explanation of the tamarbutah and consonant-vowel-consonant patterns are glossed over too quickly, too soon which make subsequent grammar lessons that much harder.Arabic speaking countries have vibrant cultures but almost no attention is paid to the culture and pyschology behind the Arabic language. In other language books this might be overlooked but Arabic is completely unqiue in that the essential structure of the language has remained completely unchamged for almost 1,400 years due largley to intense safeguarding by the uluma (Muslim scholars). This not only makes Arabic unique and fascinating, but exploring this facet actually helps the student of Arabic better understand the most basic aspects of the language,

What does the book do right? It emphasizes the writing of Arabic script. In fact, this is about the only thing it consistently hammers home with exercises presented in every chapter.

In the end Ahlan Wa Sahlan suffers from a lack of organizational forethought. As part of a university course this book gets a THREE star rating because a good professor will easily be able to fill in the gaps, but as a self-study tool this book should not even be considered.

5-0 out of 5 stars Book Arrived Promptly for Course
Important textbook ordered just before start of classes, arrived on time and exactly as needed.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent book
Great book.

After reading the other reviews, I realized that it may not be clear that you need to have the accompanying workbook also (this is the material that introduces you to the alphabet, sounds, etc.).Those two together provide an excellent intro to Arabic.

1-0 out of 5 stars Terrible terrible audio, not compatible with iPod or other players
The effort and care put into the creation of the MP3 CD (it is not an Audio CD as a music CD by the way) is literally rubbish, a dog's job from execution to packaging.

Firstly, it is not because the files are in MP3 format that make them ready to use on a iPod. In order for a bunch of MP3 files to be useful and easy to store, find and manage in a player, the publisher (Yale University Press) MUST put some effort to properly tag the MP3s with the following id3 information:

- the freaking name of the album
- the freaking name of the artist (author)
- the freaking TITLE of the track
- the freaking NUMBER of the freaking track

If this information is not provided, the MP3 player won't be able to sort the tracks into albums, sort the order of them against each other and won't display the collection of MP3s in an order that will make sense to humans.

Now multiply the lazy job of Yale University Press by 240 tracks and what you have is a massive mess hindering any attempt for productive learning as you will spend more time trying to find the badly recorded tracks than listening to their crackling, noisy and annoying sound when they are needed.

The geniuses at Yale went a step further to make things even more difficult for us. If it is not enough to completely ignore ID3 tagging, they named the files in the following format:

[track number] [Lesson number (which is from 1 to 24)] [Lesson name] [page number].

Well done Yale, except that by putting the track number before the lesson number you make all the files that start with a track number to bunch up together on an iPod playlist, for example:

...01 - Lesson one - Blah blah - p. 01
01 - Lesson two - Blah blah - p. 21
01 - Lesson three - Blah blah - p. 31
02 - Lesson one - Blah blah - p. 03
02 - Lesson two - Blah blah - p. 23
02 - Lesson three - Blah blah - p. 33
03 - Lesson one - Blah blah - p. 05
03 - Lesson two - Blah blah - p. 25
03 - Lesson three - Blah blah - p. 35...

Oh well, unless you are willing and know how to spend a few hours adding this information manually to 240+ tracks so that the files are organised on an MP3 player such as the iPod, or unless you are going to use the files as they are straight from the CD on a computer but not on iTunes, Winamp or a software that needs ID3 tags to organise tracks, this book will be utterly useless and your learning experience painful and frustrating.

About the book itself, you will need to learn the alphabet before (this is standard and not a fault of the book) nevertheless I have some concerns with regards to its pace and would not recommend it for self-learners until they have done a couple of other books before.

4-0 out of 5 stars Exact yet uneconomic...
Although I haven't read every single passage in this Bible, I have used it for about a year for Preaching and have read all the apocrypha through it.

NRSV is apparently a very exact and precise translation of the Bible. As the quotes on the back will tell you, this New version of the Revised Standard is innovative in its solutions to the language problems of the old ones, and uses a plethora of language to illustrate the various nuances of Bible passages.
This is a good thing if you are after precision and the meaning of passages, and I'd almost say it was between the poetry of The Authorized King James Version and the economy of language of an NIV.

However it is in this broad spectrum of words, and its over-precise translation, that this version becomes stodgy and loses the Bible's famed eloquence, in favour of being precise. It reminds me of Jeremy Clarkson's* criticism of a Car Manual that was 'literally translated from French' - phrases like 'S'il Vous Plait' is not literally 'Please', but it makes for better English that way.

This is not to say that this isn't a good and insightful translation, but it does display the above tendency to be over-precise.
By all means, buy this Bible for your translation collection. However remember that Bibles such as the NIV or The Message often make for easier study and, especially, better preaching material...

5-0 out of 5 stars This NRSV Bible is Exactly What I Was Looking For!
The New Revised Standard Version is the most understandable translation that I have ever read. The NRSV gives me a clear picture and I am excited to be reading it!This particular Bible is amazing because of its formatting - the prose is in single-column format (like an actual book) and the poetry is in two-column format. That makes it so much easier to distinguish between the two and also adds to the great experience of reading the NRSV.The paper is just the right thickness, I love the hard cover, the woodcut images are excellent, and the text is not interrupted by notes all over the place, making it a smooth, flowing read instead of a frustrating hunt for the next phrase. The Concordance in the back is fine, and if you want to do more of a study than a reading, then you will need to seek out a good Study Bible because this one is straightforward, bare-bones reading text. This Bible is exactly what I have been looking for!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent service and product
Excellent service, product arrived before its scheduled date and is a wonderful addition to my collection. Medium font makes reading easier for eye glass wearers. I will definitely purchase other items from the seller.

4-0 out of 5 stars Well made, nice size Bible
The Bible I received is the one pictured, with brown and tan leather binding. This is a well made Bible that when opened up lies flat. The text is single column, which is hard to find in a Bible (most have the narrow double columns). The font sytle is easy to read, and is a good size, so it's not hard on the eyes. Each book opens with a great looking small wood cut picture; some of them repeat, but there are a large number.

The only negative is that the paper is flimsy-it's typical Bible-paper, but is very thin. There are also no maps in the back; this is becoming more frequent, since maps are usually in color and having them would probably raise the price of the book, but its nice to have them for reference.

Just to be clear, this version, the NRSV with Apocrypha, contains all the books of the Apocrypha between the Old and New Testaments-this version would be for mainline Protestants such as Episcopalians (Anglicans) and Lutherans. It could be used by Catholics also, but a specifically Catholic version would integrate the Apocrypha into the Old Testament, and not include the Books of 1 Esdras, 2 Esdras, and the Prayer of Mannaseh. None mainline Protestants would probably purchase the NRSV without the Apocrypha.

Well written but limited in variety and depth.Pictures well done, professional in appearance. Is not a stand-alone text on Remington pistols.Disappointed in breadth of material, leaving out some of the Remington pistols I was researching. It is more of a general interest book on the subject.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good book for your collection
I'm a rollingblock shooter and have been for the past 13 years. For me this is a good book and I have added it to my collection.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good value
Its hard to rate something when its a first of its kind. I find myself referencing the book for any remington firearm and I haven't been let down. The only thing I have against it is how the values all seem to be arbitrary estimates but they are only intended as a guide anyways. This book is well laid out, good pics and the needed info to assist in buying or selling of just about any remington you can think of. Overall I am very satisfied.

1-0 out of 5 stars Pretty Pictures
Some of the pictures, pretty though they may be, are misleading and make little sense. For the Remington New Model 1858 a cut barrel is shown. For another percussion they show a conversion of the original model. The writing is little better. Buy some coasters instead; you'll save money and thehassle of returning the book.

2-0 out of 5 stars Can't they afford an editor?
The most painful thing about this book is their editor's inability to properly use i.e. and e.g. It's so distracting that it's almost impossible for me to do anything but see the mistakes. It is also fairly weak on the content, but overall a good way to do a quick review. The questions in the back do seem to be more along the lines of just simple multiple choice, where the sample CBT tests seem to have more intricate questions. Perhaps the simple questions will be helpful, but it would have been nice to get questions that mimicked the MCAT a little more. The little cartoon cat that they put at the end of each chapter makes me want to punch someone - um, hello, we're not in elementary school. While I can appreciate that they want to break up the dull content, I would have preferred something a LITTLE more tactful/age appropriate.

3-0 out of 5 stars gives you a general idea
It tells you what the mcat will have on it but I did go back to my old books to double check.
In the chemistry part, it didnt give much details and examples on the different subjects. So, when I wanted more practice with equations, I went to my old book to get more practice.
The book serves as a refreshment on the subjects but I would want more practice problems. Still it was helpful.

4-0 out of 5 stars Gold Standard MCAT book
A good book somewhere in the middle pack of MCAT study guides. It has some practice exams that are helpful.

4-0 out of 5 stars Gold Standard is a good indicator for MCAT scores
The MCAT computer online practice is great, but not exactly in the same format as the real MCAT computerized test. However, it does give quite an accurate indication of how one will score in the real MCAT test. So, the Gold Standard provides a cheaper way of practising MCAT tests.

5-0 out of 5 stars A masterpiece that leaves no stone unturned
This book, now in its 16th edition, is a comprehensive review of the new MCAT and provides strategies, preparation ideas, and sample questions to help you study. The full-color illustrations are aesthetically pleasing and accurate. I love the book's organization, which clearly shows you just what you need to know as well as what information is optional to learn. If you only purchase one book for your MCAT study needs, this 952-page book is the one. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A great reference book
This is a book that sometimes resembles Neufert's, but it has a lot of additional information you might need that will make easier the process of designing various types of buildings. It gives you notions, ideas, proportions, measures and everything you need to know when starting a project. A must-have to any architect (specially with these incredible low-priced used ones. I got mine for 13 bucks and it's absolutely like new).

5-0 out of 5 stars Over priced
Amozon.com says that they save you money on books but this book cost a cool 150 smackers even if a customer has purchased many books from them -- the book is valuable and used like a dictionary for reference -- why can'twe get a resonable price for it -- Amozon.com send out thank you andpromises to do their best to keep the price lowest but why do they continueto bate and switch. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT BOOK AND SHIPING
I NEED THIS BOOK TO HELP ME WITH MY HOME CARE PATIENT AND IT WAS AS ADVERTIZED A GREAT BOOK AND HANDED FOR DOING CARE PLANS

1-0 out of 5 stars Never got my book
The initial shipping did not specify it would take up to 3 weeks to receive which I was not happy about but then once I waited and still did not receive book I contacted the bookstore and though there was an attempt to find another book to send me, there was no longer any available copies and without any problems got my money back right away.I however ended up without a book.

5-0 out of 5 stars handbook of Home Health Standards and Documentation
This book was recieved quickly. I founds the book to be very informative and useful. I found the answers to several of my questions I had. I will keep the book close to use for a reference and I am sure I will use it a lot. Thanks.

5-0 out of 5 stars VERY HELPFUL
I love this book because, being in the home health industry you have to know what you're charting. If charting is lacking then you will not get the full reimbursement that you are entitled to. Thanks alot.

5-0 out of 5 stars Quickly settles disputes, answers questions, a "MUST" for all home care nurses & their management teams !!!!
I have the 4th edition (at this time is the most recent edition in print) and as a psych home care nurse, this little, portable wealth of knowledge has helped me validate to management, as well as to public health and other surveyors, the range in situations that qualify "homebound status" for psychiatric patients.Throughout the book there are samples provided to support a variety of situations that help the nurse better understand, and therefore more accurately report, on each sector of the OASIS forms.Medicare regulations are explained in detail, and I learned information that I had not known in the 14 years I have been doing mental health home care nursing. The manual provides a history and background of homecare, its evolution, provides an overview of documentaion, including the importance of coding, and its significance in home care. Also, valuable tips on improving the nursing visit, setting achievable goals, managing the case, and the guidelines for care for all the home care disciplines, are provided, so the nurse can be knowledgable regarding the roles of the other disciplines. There is a great resource section at the end of the book, and home care definitions, roles, and abbreviations are delineated in this manual as well. All home care codes are listed.

With the often-confusing regulations and data gathering tools out there, at least we on the front lines have this portable manual to help us sort out our assessments and evaluations into the accurate coding and leveling criteria that supports what we do, what we observe, and allows for the appropriate revenue to support the levels of care our patients require. As OASIS data-gathering evolves, newer editions will be needed to keep up with the miriad of changes that will ensue, but at least here is a standard we can all make good use of, and I am willing to bet every nurse, from novice to manager, will find something in this manual that was not known or delineated as well to them in the past.

This manual would also make a wonderful teaching tool for nursing students. They may as well learn early on how intricate the data-gathering tools are in the real working world.Accurate notations on the OASIS forms can either make or break a case, not only regarding reimbursement, but as to whether the levels of care, and variety of disciplines, that you feel are needed, are allowed to provide services to your patient.Hasty and inaccurate translation of evaluations and assessments onto the OASIS forms results in inability to justify to Medicare that the levels of intervention you are requesting are appropriate. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Easy to Grade, Great Comprehension Check
This is great for testing kids' comprehension. Because this was published in the 70's, I would read over each story before giving it to a student because a couple are a little on the "politically incorrect" side. Just a tip! But overall WONDERFUL tool and because they are all multiple choice, easy to grade. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Useless.
As a beginning screenwriter, completely new to the genre, I was assigned this book by my professor as a guide. It was recommended as essential reading for someone who wanted to write a screenplay for a feature film. If you're a beginning screenwriting student--a dilettante, a screenplay-curious writer, or an interested party of any kind--do not buy this book. It's the opposite of helpful. It's vague, incomplete in its explanations, archaic, imprecise, and generally useless. This book was the only one of its kind for years (i.e. a formatting guide). Now it's not. The newer books are more careful and streetwise. The Screenwriter's Bible The Screenwriter's Bible: A Complete Guide to Writing, Formatting, and Selling Your Script, just to pick one from the pack, is much better--and more reliable. This book, The Complete Guide to Standard Script Formats, etc., does not give you careful, complete information on how to format your script. That means your script will be at a strong disadvantage vs. other people's scripts--when you submit it or your agent gives it to an interested party. This guide will not help you make your script look professional. In fact, it's actually a liability. It's misguided. Don't waste your money.

5-0 out of 5 stars STANDARD SCREENPLAY FORMAT
Excellent value for the money! The book arrived in my mailbox ahead of schedule. This is a beautifully done guide to writing a screenplay in the accepted format.I enjoyed reading the guide from cover to cover.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great
I received this package on time, the cover and pages was almost brand new.I am completely satisfied with this order.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Industry Standard for Professionals
I've worked in the hour-long TV business as writer's assistant, then staff writer, then producer, for almost 15 years, and I recommend this book to everyone I work with and all my students. This book was written by professional studio typists, back before there were word processors, when every produced script was typed by people who did that as their full time job.It contains THE industry standard for how scripts should look -- which is sometimes not the default setting of those expensive script programs. This book is MUST HAVE for anyone who wants to be a professional script coordinator or staff writer, and for anyone who wants their scripts to look just like professional ones.It isn't really designed for, or necessary for, people who are just starting out, although I personally think it should be required reading for every aspiring writer, especially in TV, because understanding how a script is used as a blueprint for filming, such how the scene headersare used to create the shooting schedule, can really help new writers to understand how to create a script that is not only interesting but filmable.Combine this with Ralph Singleton's Film Scheduling/Film Budgeting Workbook.Script formatting and scheduling programs are great timesaving tools, but you should be telling the programs how to format your script, not the other way around.

2-0 out of 5 stars An Old Book with a Homemade Look
I've just finished my first script. I suppose it's okay, but not awesome. I've read a half dozen books on screenplays. Of those books, this one is likely one of the least helpful. It was writen in 1983!! and hasn't been updated. I suspect that much of the formatting advice this book offers is now out of date, old fashioned to what professional script writers are doing this days. Two newer books I would recommend instead would be CRAFTY SCREENWRITING by Alex Epstein (2002) and HOW NOT TO WRITE A SCREENPLAY by Denny Flinn (1999). You'll get modern formatting information from these books PLUS a lot more useful advice about how to write well. ... Read more

Product Description

By the end of the nineteenth century, the world was ready to adopt the gold standard out of concerns of national power, prestige, and anti-English competition. Yet although the gold standard allowed countries to enact a virtual single world currency, the years before World War I were not a time of unfettered liberal economics and one-world, one-market harmony. Outside of Europe, the gold standard became a tool for nationalists and protectionists primarily interested in growing domestic industry and imperial expansion.

This overlooked trend, provocatively reassessed in Steven Bryan's well-documented history, contradicts our conception of the gold standard as a British-based system infused with English ideas, interests, and institutions. In countries like Japan and Argentina, where nationalist concerns focused on infant-industry protection and the growth of military power, the gold standard enabled the expansion of trade and the goals of the age: industry and empire.

Bryan argues that these countries looked less to Britain and more to North America and the rest of Europe for ideological models. Not only does this history challenge our idealistic notions of the prewar period, but it also reorients our understanding of the history that followed. Policymakers of the 1920s latched onto the idea that global prosperity before World War I was the result of a system dominated by English liberalism. Their attempt to reproduce this triumph helped bring about the global downturn, the Great Depression, and the collapse of the interwar world.

Product Description

Best practice is the pillar that supports powerful teaching, and the first two editions of the highly acclaimed Best Practice have promoted instructional excellence for more than ten years. Now the third edition, with forty-five percent new material, does still more to make the big ideas of education accessible, identifying the teaching methods that help students learn, explaining how to implement them in the classroom, and showing what exemplary instruction really looks like.

Recognizing that the themes of American education have changed dramatically, Steven Zemelman, Harvey Daniels, and Arthur Hyde reconvened, and their new edition provides fresh, inspiring examples of state-of-the-art teaching methods in action. It also carefully examines state, national, and discipline-specific standards and demonstrates how engaging and interactive classroom instruction is truly the most effective way to meet those standards. You'll find that time-tested tools like the famed "More Than-Less Than" charts are updated, while the wealth of recent research and new classroom vignettes will lead your teaching in invigorating new directions.

Building on the official standards documents of leading professional organizations in reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and the arts, Zemelman, Daniels, and Hyde describe the classrooms and techniques of some of America's most effective teachers with the passionate, humorous, and conversational tone that has made Best Practice a favorite of veteran and novice teachers, staff developers, and teacher trainers across the country. Read Best Practice, Third Edition - on your own or with a whole-school faculty study group - and find out why even though some things in education may change in the short term, methods that are student centered, experiential, democratic, collaborative, and rigorously challenging will always be the key to high-quality teaching and authentic learning.

1-0 out of 5 stars Boring- useless- waste of my time!
I'm not going to be a teacher, because to me, the system is so flawed. It all starts with useless books like this one. Over and over again, this book repeats the same ideas.
I can't imagine anyone actually learning from it. I can't imagine a wanna be teaching praising the book- Oh, I should INVOLVE the student in his learning by allowing him to make choice?
Oh, I should actually explain concepts using real life examples?
Oh, I should try to engage my students rather than trying to bore them to death?
Oh, I should make them think, rather than just memorize formulas?
In all honesty, these are suggestions the book ACTUALLY makes, which are a waste to my time, and my brain.
Plus, they criticize standardized tests throughout the book, and say they should be relied on less (check pg 8)....
Then on page 54- they use statistics from ACT(a testing company) -"According to a recent study by ACT....."
What a joke, go ahead and argue against the test makers, then use them as an example to prove your point- just fantastic work there.
Please don't waste your time with this garbage, it's all been said before, and never helped anyone.
Instead I'd suggest Alfie Kohn's- The Homework Myth as an incredible read for future teachers.

4-0 out of 5 stars Ready, Set, Teach!
I am finishing my first foundational class for becoming a teacher and this book was a great help.It provided so many real and practical ways of teaching different subjects. The layout of the book was easy to follow and was the same for the different subjects (reading, writing, math, etc.).It also provided some helpful tips for how parents and principals can contribute to a successful learning process in each of the subject areas as well. This was a nice addition you don't find in every book.I found the ideas easy to implement in any subject matter and easily adaptable to any type of student learner. This is a great book that will remain in my professional library for years to come!

4-0 out of 5 stars A good start
This is one of my first education books to read as I start my education to become a teacher. I believe that as I learn to be an effective teacher this book will help me along the way. When I have questions on how to teach children more effectly I can look to this book for some fun ideas. It is easy to read and the chapters are well planned. I like the ideas and can see myself using many of them, or chaning them slightly for my classroom. This book will stay on my bookshelf for many years.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Job!
I recieved it very quickly and it was in great shape! Thanks so much!!! : ]

1-0 out of 5 stars Sad piece of worn out, shibboleth filled text
As a high school SS instructor, I`m with one star O`Keeffe completely on this one. Please read his narration as it is a bit lengthy, but highly comprehensive. The book issimply a rehash of of politically based broad "concepts" but offersnothing whatsoever concrete or specific for success. In other words, it`s a huge compillation of 20 year retreaded terms like: rich compendium, collaboration, diversity, global, for the good of the children,..... etc, etc. A comic strip like Dilbert would have a complete field day with the 300 pages of highly worn out buzz words and existentialist failures that are of course conveniently politically correct, and what pin-head "progressive" professors love to hear.. READ: make for great sales to agenda driven college profs pawning these off on unfortunate undergrads.True American reading and writing skills are waning drastically. It is becuase of books like this for the past 15 years are driving it in the direction. If you are truly interested in best practices/success in your classroom, do the EXACT OPPOSITE of what these 300 pages of worn out pathetic verbiage tell you to do, and your children will indeed succeed. ...
