Product Description
Chemical propulsion comprises the science and technology of using chemical reactions of any kind to create thrust and thereby propel a vehicle or object to a desired acceleration and speed. This book focuses on recent advances in the design of very highly efficient, low-pollution-emitting propulsion systems, as well as advances in testing, diagnostics and analysis. It offers unique coverage of Pulse Detonation Engines, which add tremendous power to jet thrust by combining high pressure with ignition of the air/fuel mixture.Readers will learn about the advances in the reduction of jet noise and toxic fuel emissions-something that is being heavily regulated by relevant government agencies.

* Lead editor is one of the world's foremost combustion researchers, with contributions from some of the world's leading researchers in combustion engineering
* Covers all major areas of chemical propulsion-from combustion measurement, analysis and simulation, to advanced control of combustion processes, to noise and emission control
* Includes important information on advanced technologies for reducing jet engine noise and hazardous fuel combustion emissions ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars "Vectored Propulsion, Supermaneuverability and Robot Aircrft"
The only book since 1990 on the most advanced technologies of super-agile fighter aircarft, manned and unmanned, which are TAILLESS, STEALTHY & FLIGHT CONTROLLED BY COMPLETE [Yaw-roll-pitch] THRUST VECTORING [TS/TFVC].
This unique book deals with the design and flight-testing-emulations of TS/TVFC subscaled flying vehicles and the development and testing of TVFC jet engine[s] or a gas turbine[s]. TVFC-based jet-engines then become the primary flight control system, with or without the 100 years old aerodynamic only conventional flight control[AOFC]. In close range engagements complete yaw-pitch-roll TVFC provides at least 64 to 1 KILL RATIO adventage over AOFC fighter aircarft. Stealth and tailless designs further increase the KILL RATIO. Many drawings, graphs and illustrations are included. Currently out of print and the book price has dramatically increased. Graviton, USA. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Product Description
"Commissioned by the European Space Agency, this book details specific propulsion technologies as envisioned by 2020. Each technology has been considered in terms of concept, associated key technologies, development status and proposed roadmaps. The reader is led through all the steps that propulsion will likely take between now and the 2020s in a clear, concise, and detailed way, including market and feasibility perspectives when applicable.
The 16 chapters follow a developmental logic. The material starts with the future of SRM, grounded on R&D done at present, goes through the development of LOX/HC liquid rocket engines, a technology based on U.S. and Russian work of the 60s and 70s. It then looks into future technologies, and systems just beginning to make their impact felt now, such as superconductivity applied to electric propulsion, MW-class ion engines (perhaps utilizing a nuclear power source), solar sails, laser propulsion, nuclear propulsion (such as the promising VASIMR), and ISRU." ... Product Description
This report was created for global strategic planners who cannot be content with traditional methods of segmenting world markets. With the advent of a "borderless world", cities become a more important criteria in prioritizing markets, as opposed to regions, continents, or countries. This report covers the top 2000 cities in over 200 countries. It does so by reporting the estimated market size (in terms of latent demand) for each major city of the world. It then ranks these cities and reports them in terms of their size as a percent of the country where they are located, their geographic region (e.g. Africa, Asia, Europe, Middle East, North America, Latin America), and the total world market.

In performing various economic analyses for its clients, I have been occasionally asked to investigate the market potential for various products and services across cities. The purpose of the studies is to understand the density of demand within a country and the extent to which a city might be used as a point of distribution within its region. From an economic perspective, however, a city does not represent a population within rigid geographical boundaries. To an economist or strategic planner, a city represents an area of dominant influence over markets in adjacent areas. This influence varies from one industry to another, but also from one period of time to another.

In what follows, I summarize the economic potential for the world's major cities for "marine propulsion gear transmissions and drives" for the year 2009. The goal of this report is to report my findings on the real economic potential, or what an economist calls the latent demand, represented by a city when defined as an area of dominant influence. The reader needs to realize that latent demand may or may not represent real sales. ... Read more
