This book was cheaper than buying it new and it even looked brand new. I got the book in the mail 2 days after I ordered it.

Why Bother
If a tech is looking for a book to help guide you through troubleshooting, especially electric heat systems, then continue looking. I'm not sure what level the author was trying to reach, however I was very disappointed. The most use I could find is maybe using it to start a fire in the fireplace.

If you actually have good skill in electricities concept and pratical use maybe you will find this book too much elementary. It proposes good info. and a easy to understand chapter on troubles shooting but i find they could put more info. and some higher level of theories without to fall on a engineer type of writting. VERY POORLY WRITTEN
I AM AN HVAC INSTRUCTOR I HAVE USED MANY TEXT BOOKS TO TEACH FROM. THIS BOOK IS, BY FAR, THE WORST I HAVE EVER SEEN. THE MISTAKES ARE VERY SERIOUS TO THE POINT WHERE THEY COULD CAUSE EQUIPMENT DAMAGE OR EVEN WORSE PERSONAL INJURY!
THE PICTURES DO NOT MATCH THE CAPTIONS IN SOME CASES. ALSO THE BOOK IS SUPPOSED TO BE AN INTRODUCTION TO HVAC, THUS THE TITLE, HOWEVER A GREAT DEAL OF THE MATERIAL IS VERY ADVANCED AND DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND EVEN FOR A JOURNEYMAN TECHNICIAN! THIS BOOK WOULD ONLY SERVE TO CONFUSE AN ENTRY LEVEL TECH.

Skip this book.My school just switched over to this book and man, was that a big mistake.The layout is poor, the explanations on mechanics are oftentimes confusing, and there are too many errors to mention.A previous poster was right in assuming that no one took the time to proofread this book.It could've used a decent editor as well.A better choice of textbook is "Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology" by Whitman & Johnson.

For each year reported, estimates are given for the latent demand, or potential industry earnings (P.I.E.), for the country in question (in millions of U.S. dollars), the percent share the country is of the region and of the globe. These comparative benchmarks allow the reader to quickly gauge a country vis-a-vis others. Using econometric models which project fundamental economic dynamics within each country and across countries, latent demand estimates are created. This report does not discuss the specific players in the market serving the latent demand, nor specific details at the product level. Steve Cosica, is, "Mr. Nice Guy". This man has spent twenty years in customer service management, as both a Speaker and Published Writer. He has been a speaker at ACCA (Air Conditioning Contractors Association) functions, published in Counterline, a newsletter in the industry, and has held regional customer service workshops for HVAC professionals.

Coscia's book was very impressive. Right from the start, I noticed its construction. Very mindful of technical peoples work habits, the book is made using a spiral backing, allowing it to stay open wherever the reader may be. I especially enjoyed this as book marks tend to slip out easily. In addition, "HVAC Customer Service Handbook", is written in larger print, contains humorous graphics and block diagrams. All these attributes made it very easy to comprehend and gave me a better understanding.

"HVAC Customer Service Handbook" was a pleasant book to read. It covers every service situation I could possibly imagine. From, "Practical HVAC Service Ideas" to "Leading an HVAC Service Operation". Coscia gives examples of many situations and explains what happened and why. He discusses what should have been done to relieve the stress of the situation. Making the customer happy, keeping the customers business and, "How to stay Cool when customers get Hot", is the whole point of this well written
volume.

I thoroughly enjoyed all 96 pages of this highly informative book. Not only does it teach behavioral lessons to HVAC professionals, but the same rules could very well apply to any industry. Any one, in just about any business, could use these same suggestions to improve their customer relations. I give the book my highest A+ rating.

This book is filled with alot of information that will come in handy for an entry level HVAC designer because it contains all sorts of fundamental equations as well as rules of thumbs that the industry uses. It's also great when you're not sure of something and it's there for a quick look up. The book is nicely laid out for convience.
