Fun Read
This is a good introduction to the New York Jets. I consider myself a big fan of the Jets and I really enjoyed the book. It's not loaded with to much information and statistics that would bore someone who is not a die-hard football fan. Easy reading with some interesting information on some of the Jets biggest names, new and old. Also talks about fans, owners,the AFC and NFL.

I love the Jets
This is the best sports book to come out ever.Usually I find these books boring, or uninteresting, but this book is completely different.It was a great book, and once i started reading i couldnt put it down.I suggest this book to everyone, even if you usually dont like sports books.This book is different, and amazing.

It's about timetheater goers were given some consideration
With all the "waste of time and ink" publishers are inflicting on the reading public, it's about time that a publisher has released a book that makes sense. SEATSexplains clearly how to buy theater tickets atdiscount prices, some at the unbelievable price of $3. I tried it and itreally works. The seating plans are unbelievable! I ordered my tickets fromTicketmaster and the salesman mumbled, "oh, Seats again," when Itold him exactly what I wanted. I could tell from the colors where to findthe best values. Horay for Sandy Millman, Seats is a brilliant idea.

You serious?
You must either be a serious Pokemon fan to buy this guide or just want to unlock everything on the game but for the most part. This guide is not needed. It does have a recommend selection of Pokemon for battle.

pokemon stadium 2 Official Nintendo Player's Guide
ok, i have to vent somewhere. this is a review for the "official nintendo player's guide," not "prima's official guide," which this is supposed to be a review for. since it's out of print, i can't review it directly, but it is for sale in the z-shops area, or whatever it's called. anyway, these 2 books have the exact same picture on the cover, just different title/text. who knows about the interior. but the one i'm talking about is pure garbage. half the team combos they suggest are bad match-ups. thye could be good, but it's a 50-50 coin toss over half the time. the only reliable part is the classroom competition recommendations. about 1/2 the rest is REALLY bad. a decent player could have written a better book. the writers should be lynched, and i really hope they read this. i would give it 2 stars, because the classroom strategies work, but that should be a given...the bare minimum to even be considered for a rating. so i give it more than it deserves...a 1. please don't waste your time with this book, unless you're looking for a quick route to the crazy farm. if you're serious about using the book for its intended purpose, this horrid book will drive you insane!!

Destroys the Meaning!
I have to start out by saying that I am not impressed. Basically, a lot of this book just repeates stuff that the game already tells you. Other than that, it tells you specifically what Pokemon to use! The whole point of being a "Pokemon trainer" is to assemble teams that suit you, not the game! If all you care about is beating the game, then this is very helpful (which is why I rated it three stars). But if you enjoy trying out different teams or beating the game with your just your favorite Pokemon, then this is not for you. ... Read more

Unbelievable full page photos!!!!
I was shown this book by a friend and just had to have it.These are truly never before seen pics. What a Tribute. The Photos in this book are strikingly clear. Over a year has gone by since the implosion, and i have seen nothing like this out there.

Awsome Photographic Display
Large and Full of life is what i have to say. Every page i turned in this book, took me on an emotional roller coaster ride. Beginning with the seren look at one of the vets famous ramps we all traveled, to the utter kaos of broken concrete and and strewn metal.The Fan has created a long lasting and fabulous tribute to Philadelphia and Veterans Stadium.

Unique articles, but targeted towards Euro audience
This book was published in conjunction with an exhibit at the Netherlands Architecture Institute. The content is mainly on the place of stadia in society and stays away from the science/engineering aspects of design.

What I liked about this book was its unique approach. In addition to short write-ups on about 40 international stadia with facts, figures and bold color photos, there are also longer articles on stadium riots and crowd control, stadium design as a method of political influence, etc. My favorite parts were the interviews with leading sports architecture firms, where execs give their opinions on the future of sport and society in general and stadium design in particular.

However, it is a European publication, so most of the content is centered around soccer venues...not necessarily a bad thing, just not very interesting to me. About 6 or 7 American venues are profiled, and the publisher's lack of familiarity with American sports was evident by all the factual and spelling errors regarding them. Still, this is a good coffee table book with brief, interesting articles and good photos, great for short sittings.

This title is the definitive exploration of stadium design philosophy in the new century. Enlightening interviews with the top minds in the field, beautiful full-colour photographs of the world's great stadia and photos of project design proposals. I re-emphasise the photos:this is an excellent coffee-table paperback for the avid or casual fan.My one very minute criticism is that there a couple of annoying photo-essay sections which have more to do with sports culture than with philostadiology. But on the whole, in my intensive search over the years for a top-quality book on world stadia, this is the finest publication, and I recommend it as TOP PRIORITY for all those like me who are fascinated by stadiums, be they old, gone, new, or neverwere. ... Timely Pop Intellectualism
This book is interesting not just because of the subject matter, but for the genre of popular nonfiction it exemplifies. Call it non-fiction's answer to the novel: It's antecedents are journalists like Tom Wolfe, and Hunter Thompson.It's a style that is best represented by William Vollmann's epic *Imperial* but you would also have to include novelist/writers like David Foster Wallace,McSweeney's titan Dave Eggers.It's also featured in the book length magazine articles of Malcolm Gladwell.None of the writers I am talking about are unknowns- in fact- they all seem to do pretty well.

Other similar figures include Monocle magazine editor/Financial Times columnist Tyler Brule and the author of this book, Gavin Pretor-Pinney co-founder of The Idler magazine.

But I think if someone is sitting there thinking "what kind of book do i writer" you are better going with the creative non-fiction category then the novel.First of all, no one cares about good novels.Are you going to write a novel about a child wizard?A vampire? No? Then no one is going to care.On the other hand, a book like the Wave Watcher's Companion can generate a sensation using an easily recognizable format.Wave Watcher's Companion is a hit- the book itself its compact- fits in one hand, handsome cover, large text, footnotes in the back with a separate set of footnotes in the text.Photographs, illustrations, 19th century style section summaries placed onto the page.The over all impact of the book itself is one of distinct delight.

Pretor-Pinney has been down this road before, in addition to co-founding the Idler, an "alternative life style" magazine that has been hugely influential among the intellectual sets on both sides of the Atlantic since it started in the early 90s- he's also written "The Cloudspotter's Guide" which I have not read.The thing about Wave Watcher's Companion is that it is TIMELY. Panther Approves of Maize and Blue
Easy reading with interesting stories. The book sparked my interest but I will probably look for others with more depth. Overall, however, I enjoyed the book. I am a Pitt Panther Fan, first and foremost, but have adopted the Maize and Blue. Anyone that beats up on Penn St. is OK with me. I visit the Big House once each season since my cousin resides in Ann Arbor. He is a Crimnson Tide fan via the West Coast. I love the Big House and have enjoyed my visits the past two autumns. The book has provided me with a new perspective on Michigan Football. Now if only the Wolverines would play the Panthers! Hail to the Victors! ... Read more
