2-0 out of 5 stars nothing new in it that isn't in any job book
I thot this would have info about full-time RVers.
RVers don't stay in one place for long, and finding a job in such a circumstance is different than being in a stick-built house.

Not a single idea about self-employment ideas for RVers.

Things I thot it would have are pet sitting, massage, reflexology, helping at the rv park, errand services, cleaning, things that one can do in the rv park, or from an rv.

Or places to work, like Walmart, JC Penney, fast food, businesses that are located nationally, where they will hire someone with short-term employment history.

Or ideas of businesses to do over the internet, that can be done from one's RV.

OK.I had those ideas on my own, but there wasn't anything useful to me in that book.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is a must-have book
Living Aboard Your RV

Not everyone can retire young but Jamie makes the RV travel dream possible for anyone including those who must work along the way

5-0 out of 5 stars very good book
I must say that I really enjoy this book. It is well written and provides alot of very good information. It is a good resource book to keep in your RV. I am planning to go full time RVing in the next couple of months and this book helped me to make that important decision. Read and enjoy folks!

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent book for the planning phase
We found this book a very valuable resource for planning on our eventual fulltiming phase of life. It is a very easy read, but it also has the information you need. It's very well laid out! Thanks for a great book!

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Resource for RVers
Support Your RV Lifestyle: An Insider's Guide to Working on the Road (Second Edition)
is a wonderful resource -- it's well-written, filled with great information, and is inspirational and encouraging, as well. Jaimie Hall is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about her topic. It's obvious that she's a seasoned traveler -- and has been both working on the road and talking to many other RVers who have worked while enjoying their travels.

The book summarizes over 350 jobs (in categories like work at rv parks and resorts, christmas tree farms, state parks and national forest areas, concessions, seasonal jobs, sales of rv related products, crafts, writing and consulting). Details like how to handle resumes, long-distance job interviews, contact information and communication while traveling, and the right questions to ask about jobs are also covered. In addition to the many options it lists, it points out possible problems and challenges one may encounter on the road while trying to find a job or while working.

If you (like us) are thinking about traveling in an RV, this is the book to have in the planning stage -- and I assume it will also be helpful when on the road.
Also check out the author's website and enewsletter.

Product Description

What is it really like living in the shadow of the NFL? Contending with marital issues in a media spotlight? Raising kids whose father is idolized for his bone-crushing work on national TV? Trying to pursue friendships and career while constantly on the move? Reporting from the home field, Shannon O’Toole offers an intimate perspective on the culture of the NFL based on her interviews with dozens of wives and girlfriends of NFL players and coaches.

Bringing to bear a background in sociology and a firsthand understanding of being married to the NFL, O'Toole is uniquely qualified to report from behind pro football’s doors. Part insider tell-all, part sociological study, her book is packed with candid on-the-spot accounts of NFL life, providing a rare glimpse into the often hidden world behind the game.

Women—already 43 percent of the NFL’s fan base—make up the sport’s fastest growing group of fans: this book is certain to appeal to them and to anyone who wonders about the hidden realities of America’s favorite game.

5-0 out of 5 stars A great depiction of the lifestyle when dating a pro athlete
This book serves as a great tool allowing women to understand and project themselve in a life that may await them if their partner aspires to or becomes a professional athlete. One can feel the authenticity of the women's testimonies and it definitively helps to set apart reality from media-enhanced stereotypes. Whether dating a NFL player or not, the typical "super woman" who is primarily responsible for handling the kids, the finances, the frequent moves, and the emotional stress brought about by their husband' s unique job will surely relate to this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars "Wedded" is really good!
Shannon O'Toole, a first-time author, writes smoothly and beautifully in this fast-paced, informative, and surprisingly juicy book. As an NFL insider, Shannon has definitely done her homework bringing to the forefront an aspect that is rarely seen in public - the other half of the men in the NFL - their wives, fiancées and girlfriends of the many players and coaches. We so often hear about the male players in the NFL so it is very refreshing to learn how these women are indeed a factor in the success of their husband's careers."Wedded To The Game" is an eye opener for all who are interested in the dynamics of relationships that stand the test of time, stress, children and insecurities galore.Who would ever guess that these marriages last and the reasons are similar to one another? No other book will give you this insight, I highly recommend it!
O'Toole is candid about her own life leading up to and in the NFL and interviews with notables as Jackie Rice, Kathy Waufle, Pat Kennan, Kim Singletary, Kim Ruddy, Kori Shaw and many others are candid as well.I can guarantee that you will enjoy it.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Poignant and Gripping Sketch
First time author and wife of John Morton, an ex- NFL player and now coach,
Shannon O'Toole candidly exposes her thoughts and perceptions of what it is like
to be married to a professional football player or coach.

O'Toole, who holds a master's degree in sociology, bases much of her assessments
on a questionnaire that she anonymously sent to one hundred and fifty wives of
NFL players and coaches. She received seventy five responses and of these she
chose thirty to interview more in depth. These women range in age from their
early twenties to their mid-sixties and come from diverse educational and ethnic
backgrounds. Wedded to the Game: The Real Lives Of NFL Women is a broad overview
as well as a recording and synthesis of O'Toole's findings that make for some
very interesting and sometimes surprising data.

Divided into ten chapters, O'Toole addresses such concerns as the insecurity of
being a wife of a player or coach whose career can be over in a flash, or the
endless number of relocations that most of the players have to endure during
their career. A full chapter is devoted to domestic violence and the
ineffectiveness of the NFL in dealing with the problem. Included in this same
chapter is the temptation to indulge in extra-marital affairs and a questioning
if it is more prevalent than in any other profession or occupation. The
misconception that everyone employed by the sport is ultra-rich is thoroughly
examined with some surprising revelations. Much ink is given to exploring family
relationships, particularly where couples live a schizophrenic existence in that
once the season begins some wives hardly see their spouses. As the author
states, "some women, particularly coaches' wives, never get over the
difficulties and loneliness the football season brings, and they become
increasingly bitter and hostile." Moreover, wives have to take on the role of
supermoms or single moms, wherein she becomes one hundred percent responsible
for their physical, educational, and emotional well-being of the couple's
children.

Readers also receive a realistic expose of how difficult it is to break into the
NFL and the daily routines of NFL players and coaches that are not as glamorous
as the media would like to have us believe.

Another misconception that the author candidly talks about is the matter of free
tickets to the games. As mentioned, players and coaches for the most part are
required to pay for their tickets, and the tickets that they do receive for
their immediate family are not exactly in the best sections of the stadium.

O'Toole is not afraid to touch on some very sensitive issues and what emerges is
a poignant and gripping sketch of a better understanding of the complex lives of
spouses of NFL players and coaches that are very often ignored by the media.

Product Description

You have to love your family. You do, even if you don't, right? You don't have to understand them or play tennis with them, but you have to love them. It's a rule, and it's the kind of rule you don't break unless you're some kind of animal.

My brother happens to be some kind of animal. My sister rides this sweet gold Honda scooter and has amazing hair. You'd hate her. My parents are vegetarian let-the-sunshine-in freaks. Lovable freaks but freaks all the same. My grandfather possesses a shocking comb-over, a kilt, about half of his original marbles, and his own golf complex. This summer, we are all working for him. It is going to be two hot, lucrative, carefree months of paradise.

Or, possibly something else.

5-0 out of 5 stars A wonderful, funny and touching novel that will remind readers of what's really important in life
Thirteen-year-old Jock thinks his family is incredibly weird. His hippy, vegetarian parents named him Union Jack (though at age six he wanted it to be pronounced Onion Jock). They insist that everyone --- including their own kids --- call them by their first names.

Leonard and Peach run a barbershop/manicurist/palm reading establishment called Fame&Fortune, but they don't give a hoot about making lots of money. They're the complete opposite of Jock's grandfather, who believes that the key to happiness is cold hard cash. He owns and manages his own golf course, all 13 holes of it (Grampus is in the process of constructing the 14th one himself).

Jock's younger brother, Egon, takes after his grandfather in the money grubbing area, but is about a hundred times worse. Another personality flaw of his is that he takes great pleasure in picking on Jock (or Dingleberry, as he calls him), both physically and verbally, though he is the first one to come to Jock's rescue when bullies like the Noblett brothers threaten him.

Despite his eccentric family, Jock looks forward to the approaching summer vacation as he and Egon will work at the golf course. Jock loves the compound, as they call it, and thinks it's the greatest place in the world, owned and managed by the greatest person in the world. Even though the pay isn't very consistent, and he sometimes has to clean the public restrooms, Jock is happiest when at the golf course. He doesn't even like to play the sport, though he enjoys hitting balls at the driving range. But then something happens that changes everything.

Grampus suffers a stroke, and his loved ones discover that the golf course is failing financially. As he slowly starts to recover, Grampus comes to see life in a new light. Maybe having money isn't so important after all. The entire family pitches in to save the course and, in the process, brings a fresh glow and a new atmosphere to the compound.

Jock even begins to see some change in himself and digs up the courage to stand up to one of the Noblett brothers. His intense and discovery-filled summer proves that having money and objects aren't the important things in life; love and family are, even relatives as strange as Jock's.

Chris Lynch's latest book is a hilarious look at a world that has gone crazy with mixed-up priorities, valuing money and toys over family and friends. Lynch's sense of humor really brings this meaningful story to life, along with a cast of colorful characters. Jock especially shines, with a wisdom beyond his years and a special gift of insight into others. THE BIG GAME OF EVERYTHING is a wonderful, funny and touching novel that will remind readers of what's really important in life.

4-0 out of 5 stars Courtesy of Teens Read Too
Jock has lined up the perfect summer job working at his grandfather's golf course. He figures work will probably be sporadic and he looks forward to racing around the greens in one of the golf carts from Grampus's mighty fleet. But sure enough, just like in golf, he slices.

It turns out he and his bumbling, antagonistic, younger brother, Egon, are the only caretakers Grampus has hired for the summer. And the mighty fleet turns out to be only two golf carts, and Grampus uses one of them for his dates with the lesson of the week. Like Jock, Grampus embraces the sun and heat, and somehow it's always Jock, not Egon, who gets the chore of rubbing sunscreen onto Grampus's back so he can work wearing only a kilt, creating the 13th hole of the course with his enormous digger.

Is this crazy loon the same grandfather Jock has always admired? Is his life still the life Jock envies and yearns for?

When two old friends of Grampus' show up, flashing their bling and offering to purchase his cherished snooker table, Jock begins to see a side of Grampus that he's never seen before. Leonard, Jock's flakey barbershop dad, who tries to convince people not to cut their hair; Peaches, his psychic, palm-reading mother; and even Grammus, Jock's rich and independent grandmother, surprise Jock as they come together to help Grampus save his golf course.

Jock finds out that yes, life's about playing the big game of everything, but more than that, life is about family.

In THE BIG GAME OF EVERYTHING, Chris Lynch finds humor in the mundane, and turns the ordinary into the unexpected. This novel is great for a lazy afternoon when what you want most is a quiet, calming read, with laugher sprinkled throughout.

3-0 out of 5 stars Enchanting Review: The Big Game of Everything
THE BIG GAME OF EVERYTHING
CHRIS LYNCH
Contemporary YA

Rating: 3 Enchantments

Union Jack (pronounced Onion Jock) is a relatively normal guy except for the fact that his family is rather eccentric. If one couldn't already tell from Jock's unusual name, the people Jock resides with lean a little more towards loony. Jock's father Leonard, a hairdresser, probably spends more time trying to convince his customers to not get their hair cute, and Jock's younger brother Egon, Jock's spokesdevil, is physically larger than Jock and enjoys terrorizing him and other people (in a friendly way of course). But through all this strangeness, Jock still loves his family because, well, they're his family.

If there's one person in Jock's family he admires the most, it is his Grampus. This is thy Jock looks forward to a summer of helping run Grampus' not-quite-finished golf course. But Jock's not going to get the simple summer he expected, especially after two of Grampus' old friends show up at the golf course. With the introduction of The Big Game of Everything, Jock's relationship with Grampus as well as his view of the world shifts, and it's up to him to discover what really is most important to him.

THE BIG GAME OF EVERYTHING turned out to be only a mediocre story, which was a disappointment to me. Based on the back-cover summary, I was expecting a laugh-out-loud story that was meaningful, but instead, I got only a couple of chuckles and some confusion. Part of this is a result of the wacky characters; I felt the characters' eccentricities worked against the story because they never truly gained my sympathy. The plot was pretty boring most of the time as well, which made me lose interest in the story most of the time. I think that Lynch was trying to create a more thought-provoking novel, but THE BIG GAME OF EVERYTHING failed at this because I couldn't concentrate long enough on the story to really think about it. On the positive side, the weird characters did lead to some humorous situations and there was one exceptionally well-written scene towards the ending. However, for the most part, I felt like I was missing the big idea which was never explicitly stated. If you're the type of reader who likes to look for meanings deep within stories, then you should read this book, but otherwise, I do not recommend it.

From the supplier: Senior physical education majors of the East Carolina University underwent mock interviews with principals to enhance their knowledge about the interviewing process. In preparation, the preservice teachers generated their own questions to the principal regarding health benefits, faculty evaluation and coaching responsibilities. Meanwhile, the principals were asked to make the usual interview inquiries. Due to this exercise, preservice teachers were able to gauge their own qualifications as against what the principals expected.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not bad at all
Contrary to the previous reviewer I found this book to be admirably terse (I'm not looking for a tome) and full of wonderful motivational text and charted sea traffic routes to provide a good starting point to fishing a ride. If you're not experienced with crewing on yachts this book is worth looking at, unless of course our reader from Stockholm can identify the "other fine books that have some substance" for me and show me how much better they are I guess.

1-0 out of 5 stars pretty darn thin
This book was a big disappointment. Once you remove the appendices (which are of little value) there is less than 90 pages of material, much of which is repeated. It seems the author reallyhad to stretch to get that manypages. The essential information contained in this book could hardly fill abrochure. If you have any desire of trying to crew around the oceans youwill quickly lose it reading this book. The only interesting thing I couldfind in this book was a small map showing cruising routes of the world forthe different seasons, information that is available in other fine booksthat have some substance. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome! I couldn't put it down!
I'm a huge Steelers fan and when Chris Gardocki came the Steelers and I found out his wife had wrote a book I just had to read it. I was very impressed because it really did put you in that "Wife's Room" and it made you see what they go through everyday from stalkers to going to the Pro Bowl. It was very well written and I'm so glad I took the time to read it. It was actually a book that I couldn't put down, any free second I had I was reading that book. I definatly recommend it to someone who wants to know what this wife's going through every Sunday. It's not all fun and games. It also gives you a whole new respect for punters and kickers.

1-0 out of 5 stars Trite Fluff
As an avid football fan, I was anxious to read about the NFL from another viewpoint.I don't know where to begin with how awful this book was. There were moments when the author attempted to tell poignant stories butthey ended up sounding trite and contrived. She shared stories of being anNFL wife but she came off as being the groupie bimbo that she mocked in herbook. There was no substance to this book whatsoever. Don't waste yourtime or money.

1-0 out of 5 stars Designer Clothes and Egos
This is a bad book.I picked this title up with interestbecause I am a sports fan and have a family member in the NFL.What Igot was bad fiction and poor editing. Most of the "stories" are loose accounts of make-believe characters based on collections of people. There is more discussion of fashion (Donna Karan hosiery does not slip over you calves) and tales of how cool she thinks she is.If you are a sports fan or want a behind the scenes look do not waste your time with this book. Her excitement for the game is displayed by examples like wanting her husband's team (AFC) to win the Pro Bowl because the $20K will allow her to buy a painting of English dogs for the stairwell. The rest reads like her diary or a trashy novel. You will not glean any insights on the daily life of an NFL wife, the Chicago Bears or the NFL here.If you want a good sports book try "You're Okay It's Just a Bruise" by Dr. Huizenga. END

5-0 out of 5 stars I couldn't put it down!
I loved this book! After years of sports books written by the athletes, it was great to read a book written from a completely different point of view. I picked it up on the recommendation of a friend and I couldn't put itdown! Like Melissa, I was sad when it ended, I hope Sally writes a sequel. No fans - especially female football fans - should go without this book! Its also a must read for other professional athletes wives - I'm so glad myfriend told me about it!

5-0 out of 5 stars excellent
This is a book that no football fan should dowithout. It gives you a whole new perspective on the life of an NFL player and their families.

There are stories to make you laugh (Can You Use Your Psychic Abilities to Locate a Lost Pet), cry (Ricki's Story), and inspire (McKenna's Story).

I really enjoyed the book.I had a really hard time putting the book down. When I finished the last page I was sad that the journey was over.Any word of a sequel yet?I'd love to read one.

Product Description
Following experiences made during the previous edition of the America's Cup, an Arbitration Panel was set up in order to resolve the disputes arising with respect to the 3 1 st (2000-2003) America's Cup. It was composed of five arbitrators, all high standing lawyers with vast experience in arbitration and sport. The Arbitration Panel issued 22 decisions on many subjects, ranging from deciding whether or not Societe Nautique de Geneve (Alinghi) couldtake part to the America's Cup, to whether or not the Seattle Yacht Club (One World Challenge) had breached rules prohibiting the transfer of technology from a syndicate to another.

This book contains all the decisions rendered as well as the background and supporting material. It begins with an introductory text which enables a better understanding of the reasons why the Arbitration Panel was set up, of the way it has worked and of the main issues it has dealt with.

The work will be of interest to any person involved in arbitration in general and in sport in particular. It will also provide an insight into the history of the America's Cup which, from the outcome in 1851, has been characterised by controversies and disputes. ... Read more
