Juan Pablo Montoya Roldán (born September 20, 1975) is a race car driver in NASCAR and a former Formula One and CART driver. He has enjoyed great success, most famously in top open wheel racing series. He currently drives the #42 Target Chevrolet Impala for Earnhardt Ganassi Racing in the Sprint Cup Series. The highlights of his career include winning the International F3000 championship in 1998, and the CART Championship Series in 1999, as well as victories in some of the most prestigious races in the world. great service
I was needing a service manual for my "new" 1990 Metro. The manual was in near perfect condition and shipped quickly.

It's a Haynes Car Manual with light use...
It's not that big of a deal. I have an old car and I didn't want to buy a brand new manual for it.Amazon has these sellers that sell used items at a bargain.
I found the Haynes Manual for my car listed here and the seller only wanted a couple of bucks for it. That plus standard shipping saved me anywhere from 7 or more dollars.

The manual was listed as 'light use' or something to that effect and when I got it, all the pages were in good shape.There was a Post It on one of the pages from the previous user.Also a couple of highlighted portions with a pen and some maintenance notes here and there.No big deal. It's exactly what I needed.

It bothers my wife that sometimes I look over the manual before I go to sleep.
"Why are you reading that!!??" she'd say.
Ha, I'd think, she just doesn't get men.

As far as the manual goes, it provides handy information.For instance, it enlightened me as to where the fuel filter was located. It provides handy troubleshooting advice, in particular a possible vacuum leak I think is going on and how to go about targeting the culprit.
The Haynes manuals give plenty of tips for general maintenance and a good idea of where to venture according to your skill level or tool availability.
I'm glad I'm not the one completely tearing down a car and writing the manual, but it is valuable information to the common car owner who has a hankering for a little DIY and saving a buck.

Sprint Yes, Geo Maybe
Most of the book is on the older Sprints. Not much on the newer Geo Metros. Very little on trouble shooting electrical problems.No schematics, only flow diagrams. Very little detail on additional options. Good for mechanical problems. Chevy Sprint yes, geo metro NO
This book is great for Chevy Sprint owners,but aweful if you've got a Geo Metro.Electrical diagrams and diagnostic explanation are few and far between, and overall the book ignores or barely glazes over the details for a Geo. The title is deceptive and the "2-cars-for-1" concept is false.

For a good geo metro repair manual,purchase the Chiltons 89-93 Manual.It will also cover 94 geo metros, which are identical to 93, except the half-metal bumper was replaced by a whole-rubber one.Later models (95-2000) are extremely similar, but they also have slight differences.This book will also help for general maintenance on those cars.

Good, but not great
The book was based upon a disassembly of a Sprint and not a Metro and there are significant and annoying differences.A lot of the content is copied verbatim from other books, and I'm not sure that it is allaccurate.

This book will help you perform common repairs, but ismaddeningly silent on a number of other ones (e.g. swapping radios).Alsoit isn't as detailed as some of their other books.

I'd buy it again, onlybecause it is useful, but I don't like it, and given that very fewmechanics see Geos, it doesn't explain enough. ... Read more

If you are looking for Geo Motor rebuild book, do not buy this one. The motor rebuild is a couple of general discussion paragraphs.

Not the best manual by any stretch
I have several Haynes manuals and overall they are so-so at best but this one is really lacking. They claim it's based on a complete tear down but apparently their car didn't have pistons, rods, or a crankshaft because there is no mention of those other than bore and stroke and rod bolt and main cap torque. No info on journal sizes and tolerances, piston and bore tolerances, ring end gaps or groove tolerances or anything else a person might want to know when working on those parts of their engine.

I think I've finally learned my lesson and will just stick to Chilton from now on, even if I have to order them online and wait a week...

metro manual
This is an excellent manual especially if you are a beginner and no little or nothing about cars. I know nothing about automotive repair but found the book easy to understand and VERY straightforward. My metro has 360,000 miles and I am the original owner. I usually pay people to work on the car but because of it's high mileage now I would be better off fixing it myself. It's just not worth sinking anymore money than I have to in it. The extensive number of photos in the book are great and helpful. The only fault I find in this book is the cheap paper it's printed on but for this price I really should not complain. ... Read more

Good Book to Get You Started
The book does hit the basics with some good information. Photos should be in color instead of B/W. One El Camino is listed as an SS but from the photos it's a SS Clone.
If you are looking for all model specs, histories and options listing for the El Camino/Sprint/Caballero you will need more than this book but it is a good starting place.

Nice, but not serious
At the time I ordered this book from Amazon, it was the only book available on the El Camino.Now there seems to be more selection, and I would advise interested readers to shop around if they're looking for real depth.Although the book does mention pretty much every model and show pictures of each, it's really just a brief once-over, and the pictures aren't even in color!That was the really disappointing part about a supposed "photo history..."But nonetheless, it's a fun read and a real enthusiast will probably want it. ...
