Great Book
I found this book very ensightful, and easy to understand. Karen Linde explains different drills, and ideas in a detailed description. I recomend it to all begining coaches. I used it to write a research paper about softball and found it very helpful. This econometric study covers the latent demand outlook for baseball, football, soccer, softball, and track and field balls, gloves and mitts, and wood bats across the states, union territories and cities of India. Latent demand (in millions of U.S. dollars), or potential industry earnings (P.I.E.) estimates are given across over 5,100 cities in India. For each city in question, the percent share the city is of it's state or union territory and of India as a whole is reported. These comparative benchmarks allow the reader to quickly gauge a city vis-a-vis others. This statistical approach can prove very useful to distribution and/or sales force strategies. Using econometric models which project fundamental economic dynamics within each state or union territory and city, latent demand estimates are created for baseball, football, soccer, softball, and track and field balls, gloves and mitts, and wood bats. This report does not discuss the specific players in the market serving the latent demand, nor specific details at the product level. The study also does not consider short-term cyclicalities that might affect realized sales. The study, therefore, is strategic in nature, taking an aggregate and long-run view, irrespective of the players or products involved.

Good if it fits your specific need.
This book is geared towards someone organizing and leading a team.The table of contents looks quite complete, but many of the subjects received only cursory treatment.For example, the section on batting is hardlyworth the paper consumed.The real meat of the book is its illustrationsfor fielding drills. The fielding drills are very hardcore.Forexample, many of the drills state that the initial fielder should havetheir back to the batter.The fielder reacts to the sound of the ballhitting the bat and develops a (survival) instinct.After the ball isfielded, it is rapidly thrown to everyone in the infield following someprescribed pattern.These may be great for the super competitive team inan elite league. The players on a typical adult team are likely tomutiny if these drills are proposed.Players in the non-hardcore leaguesstill want to get better and win, but they won't take on hardcore trainingregimens.Since recreational leagues far out number the elite leagues,drills geared to the enthusiastic participation of the adult recreationalplayer would be a useful addition to the book.
