Mediocre Picture Book
I expected a book with insightful narrative and intriguing photographs about what goes on behind the motorcycle racing scene.Instead this work offers virtually no narrative and really mediocre photographs.It's a big, expensive photo album that illustrates the motorcycle racing pit scene without explaining what you're seeing.The captions for all the photos are at the end of the book, which is cumbersome, and the editor left out narrative for some photos and mislabeled others.

If you're looking for the scoop on the grunge behind the glitz of motorcycle racing, this will not satisfy you at all.If you're looking for outstanding photography, you'll be disappointed as well.Save your money; there are better books in this genre out there.

Sky Rockets in Flight
I would recommend the bood Land Speed Racing to any young child who is infatuated with high speed racing. The purpose of the book is to inform people on facts and statistics about the book. Inside it also tells broken speed records, but at the same time it tries to send a message that no matter how fast you are going, you should always take safety precautions.

Land speed racing is a race that sees whos motorcycle or strem liner car can go the fastest. There has been several records set for the fastes times and the cleanest bikes etc. There are also different clases depinding on the size of the motor and durability of the frame of the bike. The engine sizes range from 50cc to 3000cc!

The purpose of this book is land racing. I would recomend this book to any body who likes racing motorcycle's, and landliners. This book is good for all ages to read or even have someone read it to you. They travel up to 200(MPH). When traveling at high rates of spee you have to waer special gear.

I found this book a very enjoyable read. It covers a wide variety of american racing motorcycles, as well as the stars who rode them. If you are looking for in depth technicle writing this might not be for you. If you are looking for a fun and interesting book covering flattrack, roadracing, bonneville, and even a chapter on desert racing than this is for you ! This book Motorcycle Racing is a good book.I like it because it tells you the safety stuff you need so you don't get hurt.It tells you why they peel out before they race.They do that to get their tires hot so they getbetter traction.It also tells you everything on a motorcycle.

Mike the Bike's Manual for New Racers
Disclosure -- I'm selling one.

When I was a teenager and started to race, Mike Halwood was the greatest motorcycle road racer on earth, and my hero. Even after he retired, he came back just for fun to win the Isle of Man 2 times -- once on a Ducati, and once on a 2-stroke GP bike (in different classes).

This book is his 150 pages of instructions for beginning racers that was my bible, and I won 3 out of my 4 last races.

If you were racing in the '60's or are racing in vintage races you'll especially love it, but for any lover of racing history and student of the attitudes of champions, this is a great and nifty book. It does have lots of pictures of classic racing througout.

It's also still a great getting-started manual. Most of what he's saying still applies. He teaches you to have an intelligent, analytical, and practical approach to racing and winning.
