Product Description
This econometric study covers the world outlook for carts and wagons for consumer riding lawn, garden, and snow equipment across more than 200 countries. For each year reported, estimates are given for the latent demand, or potential industry earnings (P.I.E.), for the country in question (in millions of U.S. dollars), the percent share the country is of the region and of the globe. These comparative benchmarks allow the reader to quickly gauge a country vis-à-vis others. Using econometric models which project fundamental economic dynamics within each country and across countries, latent demand estimates are created. This report does not discuss the specific players in the market serving the latent demand, nor specific details at the product level. The study also does not consider short-term cyclicalities that might affect realized sales. The study, therefore, is strategic in nature, taking an aggregate and long-run view, irrespective of the players or products involved. This study does not report actual sales data (which are simply unavailable, in a comparable or consistent manner in virtually all of the 230 countries of the world). This study gives, however, my estimates for the worldwide latent demand, or the P.I.E., for carts and wagons for consumer riding lawn, garden, and snow equipment. It also shows how the P.I.E. is divided across the world's regional and national markets. For each country, I also show my estimates of how the P.I.E. grows over time (positive or negative growth). In order to make these estimates, a multi-stage methodology was employed that is often taught in courses on international strategic planning at graduate schools of business. ... Read more

Product Description

In this verse translation of Chrétien de Troyes's Lancelot, Ruth Harwood Cline revives the original story of the immortal love affair between Sir Lancelot and Queen Guinevere, a tale that has spawned interpretations ranging from Malory's Le Morte d'Arthur to Lerner and Lowe's Camelot.

By remaining faithful to Chrétien's highly structured form, Cline preserves the pace, the pungency of proverbial expressions, and the work's poetical devices and word play in translating this archetypal tale of courtly love from Old French into modern English. Cline's introduction--containing a description of Arthur in history and literature, a discussion of courtly love, and an account of the continuations of the story of Lancelot and Guinevere--makes Lancelot an ideal classroom text.

4-0 out of 5 stars the beginning of the most famous love triangle in Western history
This is a fascinating epic, meticulously translated and annotated by Cline. It seems to be amazing how much you can learn about some of the most cherished tropes in Arthurian legend by reading this, but this is ultimately unsurprising as The Knight of the Cart was the original source of the Arthur-Guinevere-Lancelot love triangle. It is packed with magical imagery, dark humour, and, of course, fatal flaws. I wish I could read Old French so that I could have a better familiarity with the original text! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Information Overload
This book delivers exactly what the subtitle promises - unfortunately. It is the result of a great deal of time and effort from a competent writer. It provides insights into the staffing and operation of a racing team that I haven't found anywhere else but keeping a reader's interest through a 17 race season is a difficult assignment.

Dedicated fans may love it but it was too much detail for a casual fan like me.

5-0 out of 5 stars Inside Racing
I ordered this book to educate myself in a sport that I recently found exciting. It was the perfect fit!It was a diary of a complete season with Pacwest Racing Team; from the development of the team, search for sponsors, the day by day regime thru to winning. I knew I loved to watch Indy / Open Wheel racing, but really wanted a source to educate myself on the specifics of the team members and everyones roles, to car specifics and terms, and what it is all about to race in this sport.I found it to be quite informative, a little tedious at times due to the detail, but extremely helpful.I even re-read and used the book as a dictionary of Indy Racing terms, due to my growing knowledge as the book progressed.
I would recommend this book to anyone who wants an indepth /behind the scenes feel for what Indy Racing is about!

3-0 out of 5 stars Driver/Crew Chief details
I chose a group of books for researh for starting a race team, this was one...If you want detail, this has it, but let me warn... I feel there is too much time spent on the driver/crew chief talks duringwarm-up/qualifying/race.If you want to learn what goes on between the twothis book is for you.The nitty gritty detail of a year in racing is, inmy opinion, a bit lacking, but the detail of what goes on between thedriver and crew chief is terrific.Haney gets a bit lenghty in the middleraces of the season, he found a tape recorder, but rounds out the book backon the brief...while I enjoyed reading the details of weight jacking andspring adjustments, I found too much "car adjustment" detail andnot enough "a year in the life of..." details.

5-0 out of 5 stars A feast for car racing nuts.
Paul arranged the year we'd all love to have: traveling with a top-line CART team and listening in to all their radio traffic on race weekends. He combines a talent for explaining technical issues with painstakingnote-taking (the part of the year we didn't have to worry about) andpresents it all with a fresh, self-effacing style.

The bulk of the bookis Paul's description of how engineers and drivers set up the PacWest cars.We can listen in as they drift in and out of the right setup, struggling tofind the right combination in this hugely competitive racing series.

Buyit if you're fascinated by the technical part of Champ Car racing. Stayaway if you're looking for brisk narrative about people or a tight dramaticstructure. This is hardcore racing.

5-0 out of 5 stars If you're an auto racing fan, buy this book!
This is the book I've always wanted to read. I've been a fan of autoracing for many years, but no book has ever given a real "behind thescenes" look at what goes on in a top line race team. Haney's style isvery readable and gives a good honest potrayal of all the key members ofthe race team. None better! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars les plus belles rues en france
I have used this atlas so many times it's falling apart.I take it every time I travel to France because I rent a car and want to visit small villages and to see beautiful countryside. It's easy to get off on the roads less travelled to experience the hidden pleasures. With this atlas, it's easy to chart a course and never be lost.I also use it when I read about a village or someone tells me about one, and I want to know exactly where it's located. Many obscure villages will appear on these pages. For travelling the way I do, it's an excellent resource.Bon voyage.

4-0 out of 5 stars A pre-tour of France

Adventures of the Donkey Cart Kids

First Daddy died, then Mommy got sick and had to go to the sanitarium. That left Michael, 12, as head of the family. Somehow he had to get his four younger brothers and sisters to Grandma Bell's house. Then Nanny Goat ate their train tickets! Now what?

Anxious to avoid a sinister uncle who is looking for them, the five Larkin children set out for Grandma's in a cart pulled by Jake, the donkey, accompanied by Nanny Goat, Ted, the dog, and Goldie, the Bantam hen. On the way they meet Cris the hermit with his strange partner, ride in a pioneer parade through one town, spend a stormy night in an abandoned house, and share a birthday celebration with an ancient Indian. All the while, as Betty put it, "The angel guards watched over us."

Donkey-Cart Kids is an adventure you will never forget.

Product Description
This econometric study covers the latent demand outlook for carts and wagons for consumer riding lawn, garden, and snow equipment across the states and cities of the United States. Latent demand (in millions of U.S. dollars), or potential industry earnings (P.I.E.) estimates are given across some 6,100 cities in the United States. For each city in question, the percent share the city is of it's state and of the United States is reported. These comparative benchmarks allow the reader to quickly gauge a city vis-a-vis others. This statistical approach can prove very useful to distribution and/or sales force strategies. Using econometric models which project fundamental economic dynamics within each state and city, latent demand estimates are created for carts and wagons for consumer riding lawn, garden, and snow equipment. This report does not discuss the specific players in the market serving the latent demand, nor specific details at the product level. The study also does not consider short-term cyclicalities that might affect realized sales. The study, therefore, is strategic in nature, taking an aggregate and long-run view, irrespective of the players or products involved.
