IS A LIST OF THE WIKIPEDIA ARTICLES THAT WERE USED TO MAKE ALL OF THIS 'BOOK'

1-0 out of 5 stars Fake book
This "book" is really just an amalgamation of several Wikipedia articles available for free on the Internet. Notice that if you click on the picture of the book cover here on Amazon, there is a little green "seal" that says "High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA Articles". The entire book is literally copied from free Wikipedia content with no further editing and sold at an outrageous price.

4-0 out of 5 stars A very good (and new, considering the re-branding of the AFL/AF2 as Arena Football1) and timely book!
A lot of research went into this (finally) new book
compliating the history of the soon to be 24 year
old sport of Arena Football. Having been a player,
former Af2 Ast. Coach and memeber of both the Ar.FL
Hall of Fame Committee and Arena Football Writers
Association, it is indeed a welcome addition to the
little printed material that is available to the '
loving public'. Rock on Arenaball! ... Read more

Product Description
Arena Football is a variety of Gridiron football. It is a proprietary game played indoors on a smaller field than American or Canadian outdoor football, resulting in a faster and higher-scoring game. The sport was invented in 1981, and patented in 1987, by James F. Foster, Jr., a former executive of the National Football League and the United States Football League. Though not the only variant of indoor football, it is the most widely known, and the one on which most other forms of modern indoor football are at least partially based. Two leagues have played under the official arena football rules: the Arena Football League, which played 22 seasons from 1987 through 2009 and arenafootball2, which was founded in 2000. Arena Football 1, is the league's new name, confederation of former AFL and af2 teams that plans to begin play in 2010, will also presumably follow the official arena football rulebook. ... Product Description
The twentieth century was to witness many social revolutions. Of these one of the most significant was the rise of mass spectator sport. Whilst the late nineteenth century saw many sports codified and regulated, it was from the early years of the twentieth century that massive stadia were constructed in order to house the increasing numbers of spectators willing and able to attend matches. This was partly the result of social change as fewer people, for example, worked on Saturdays, and increasing affluence. During the century, moreover, the facilities offered and demanded grew significantly. Covered accommodation expanded, terraces were improved and floodlighting was installed. Later, all-seater stadia became the necessary standard for higher division teams and new modern grounds replaced the old. Some of these changes were the result of tragedies, such as the Valley Parade fire and the Hillsborough disaster, but others were a reflection that football had to appeal to a broader market if it was to shed its reputation for crowd violence. In Football Grounds Fact Book, noted commentator on stadia Michael Heatley explores how football grounds have evolved over the past century.Exploring the subject thematically with the aid of a fascinating selection of both colour and mono images, the book provides a graphic examination of the changing face of British football. Covering such diverse topics as ticketing, floodlights, disabled facilities, groundsharing, the architecture of Archibald Leitch (arguably the most important figure in the early development of stadia), national stadia, and much else. The author, whose earlier book for Ian Allan Publishing on the changes to football grounds (Football Grounds Then & Now) sold out, has produced another excellent and innovative volume on this fascinating subject. For all interested in football and football grounds in particular, Football Grounds Fact Book represents an entertaining overview of stadium developments over the past century. Ian Allan Publishing's books on football grounds have proved consistently successful. This latest addition to the list will help build upon the imprint's reputation as one of the leading publishers in this area. ... Read more

Excerpt: The Chicago Rush is an arena football team based in Rosemont, Illinois. It is a member of the new Arena Football League league starting play in 2010. The team was founded in 2001 as a member of the original Arena Football League, and is co-owned by Mike Ditka, the Hall of Fame player and coach. The Rush have qualified for the playoffs every season of their existence, and won ArenaBowl XX in 2006. The Rush made its AFL debut in 2001. Although their administrative offices are based in Des Plaines, Illinois, northwest of Chicago and near O'Hare International Airport, the team plays its home games in neighboring Rosemont, Illinois at Allstate Arena (formerly known as the Rosemont Horizon), the same venue previously used by the Chicago Bruisers, one of the four original Arena Football League teams. While in the AFL, the Rush competed in the Central Division of the American Conference. Former Chicago Bears coach and player Mike Ditka is a co-owner of the team. The Rush have made the playoffs every year in the franchise's short history, and so far, they have made one ArenaBowl appearance. In their inaugural year (2001), the Rush won their very first playoff game, beating the Orlando Predators 41-26, but lost to the eventual ArenaBowl XV champion Grand Rapids Rampage 53-21. In 2002, the Rush won the Central division and received a bye in the playoffs. They defeated the Dallas Desperados 60-47, but fell in the semifinals to the Arizona Rattlers 46-35. In 2003, the Rush had a .500 regular season, yet got into the playoffs. They fell in Round 1 to the New York Dragons 48-45. In 2004, the Rush won the Central division with an 11-5 record. Excerpt: The Côte d'Ivoire national football team (written as "Ivory Coast" in English), nicknamed Les Éléphants (The Elephants), represents Côte d'Ivoire in international football and is controlled by the Fédération Ivoirienne de Football. Until 2005, their greatest accomplishment was winning the 1992 African Cup of Nations against Ghana on penalties at the Stade Leopold Senghor in Dakar, Senegal. They have qualified for two World Cup finals, first in Germany in 2006, losing to Argentina and the Netherlands and beating Serbia and Montenegro as they failed to progress beyond the group stage. They qualified again for South Africa in 2010. Afro-Asian Cup of Nations : CEDEAO Cup : 30 man preliminary squad for the 2010 FIFA World Cup Côte d'Ivoire was the only nation to name a 23-man World Cup squad comprised entirely of players who play their club football outside their home country. Côte d'Ivoire qualified through a tough qualifying group which included African powerhouses Cameroon and Egypt, despite losing home and away to the former. On the last day of qualification, they confirmed their spot with a 31 win over Sudan, while Cameroon faltered and could only manage a 11 draw at home to Egypt. Côte d'Ivoire lost their opening game 21 in the 2006 World Cup in Germany to an Argentine side. The goals for Argentina came from Hernán Crespo and Javier Saviola. Côte d'Ivoire's goal came from Chelsea striker Didier Drogba. They lost their second match to the Netherlands by the same scoreline and were thus eliminated from the tournament. The park was later turned into a practice range and in 1920 the first football field was built upon it. The meaning of Ljudski vrt is People's garden. The pitch on the present day area was built in 1952, while the stadium itself was not built until 1962. Since then the stadium went through four renovations. The most notable was the last one from 2006 to 2008 when the stadium was completely renovated and now holds a capacity of 12,435 covered seats. The number of seats will be increased to a total of 13,000 seats in the next phase of the renovation which should be completed by 2010, for the club 50th anniversary. The stadium is mainly used for football and is the home ground of football club NK Maribor. It is the symbol of the club and one of the most recognizable sport landmarks in Slovenia. Beside being the home ground of NK Maribor, the stadium also hosted matches of the Slovenia national football team and was the main venue for 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifications. For local supporters, the stadium is known as (Football temple) and the pitch itself as (Holy grass). Excerpt: Bucaspor is a professional Turkish football club located in the city of Izmir. Formed in 1928, Bucaspor are nicknamed Firtina (Storm). The club colours are yellow and navy. The club earned promoted to the top-flight of the Turkish football pyramid on 8 May 2010. Their 4-0 win over Kayseri Erciyesspor sealed their second place finish in the TFF First League, which resulted in automatic promotion to the Süper Lig. Bucaspor were the fifth football club to be based in Izmir, following Karyaka S.K. (1912), Altay S.K. (1914), Altnordu S.K. (1923), and Göztepe A.. (1925). Yellow and navy were chosen for the club colours. Former president Yusuf Muhafiz pushed to make red one of the colours of the club, to distinguish it from Istanbul-based club Fenerbahçe. The colour has since been removed. The club did not compete professionally for most of its history. They were promoted to the TFF Second League after beating Edremitspor 1-0 on 6 May 1990, which gave them professional status. Bucaspor reached the play-offs of the TFF Second League twice, in 1994 and 1996, but failed to win promotion to the TFF First League. The club were also never relegated during this span of time. Bucaspor won the 2008-09 Second League, and gained double promotion after placing second in the TFF First League at the closing of the 2009-10 season. Almost thirty years after becoming a professional club, Bucaspor were now playing in the Süper Lig. The promotion also ended the drought of Izmir-based clubs in the Süper Lig, which lasted seven years. As of 4 June 2010. Read more

Chapters: Lehigh Mountain Hawks Coaches, Lehigh Mountain Hawks Football, the Rivalry, Stabler Arena, Manny Oudin, Taylor Wray, Kevin Cassese, Goodman Stadium, Taylor Stadium, Greg Strobel. Excerpt: The Rivalry is the college rivalry between Lehigh University and Lafayette College. The two institutions are located 17 miles apart in eastern Pennsylvania. The Rivalry is not limited to one sport, but is seen in any meeting of the two schools. The football rivalry has been played 145 times since 1884, making it the most-played football rivalry in the nation. It is also the longest uninterrupted rivalry, since the teams have met every year since 1897. (Although Harvard and Yale began The Game in 1875, they did not play in 1885, 1895, 1896, 1897, 1899, 1917, 1918, 1943, or 1944). "The Rivalry" is so old that it predates football trophies; the winning team just gets to keep the game ball. These are painted with the score and displayed in winning institution's hall of fame. The evolution of the shape of the football can be seen in the displays of past game ***. The football game is always sold out months in advance and has inspired books and a PBS television documentary narrated by the late Harry Kalas. In 2006, ESPNU ranked The Rivalry #8 in their Top Ten College Football Rivalries and Sports Illustrated has told its readers that seeing it "is something you have to do once in your life." Although they did not meet on the football field until 1884, an anecdote from David Bishop Skillman's history of Lafayette College reveals that bad blood existed between the two places even before Lehigh was founded. When Asa Packer first moved to Mauch Chunk (now Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania) as an uneducated carpenter, he joined the congregation of a local Presbyterian Church ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Mr Brian Wolters is right! Support the grassroots; Af2 is very good!
I get the Fact and Record books every year
being a part of the Sports Media. I have
covered the Ar.FL since it's inception &
have corresponded and met both The Commish
C. Dave Baker and Mr. Jim Foster, Jr. The
Fact and Record Books of the Ar.FL, the CFL
and of Af2 are invaluable resources for the
stats, et, al that we reporters need to keep
the players, owners, Media folkes and every-
body else straight. The NFL has NOTHING on
the Ar.FL-Af2 / or the CFL! Long Live Arena-
ball!

3-0 out of 5 stars A Must Have for Arena Football Fans
I am a huge fan of the Arena Football League 2. I think it is one of the best professional sports leagues in the US. It brings the excitement of big time football to smaller and now, larger markets at a low cost to fans and owners.

This book reviews the inaugural season of the exciting Arena Football League 2. Highlights of the season include the perfect season by the Quad City Steamwheelers and the high scoring games of the Arkansas Twisters.

The book also has really in-depth stats of the players, cities and the arenas themselves. Many of the players in this league from the 2000 season went on to play in the AF1.

The book lacks excitement in that it is pretty much stats and info about the teams. There are very few pictures or "fun" articles.

Overall, this should be a collector's item, since it is about the 1st season of AF2 which is now going into its 4th season. ... Read more
