We go back to four weeks ago where Sean told his teammates that he was retiring and lots of hugging ensues. Because you need to know, we've got a live satellite link up with the hospital. Danny Wolfe goes the extra mile - he's in the operating room as Mark and Sean go under the knife. A whole bunch of names are dropped. Mark and Sean both react to Danny like you'd expect they would. Russ was a great young athlete with a growing passion for wrestling. We looked forward to working with him and his brother, Charlie, in the future. We are keenly aware that we will be missing someone very special and the staff, management, wrestlers and employees of the HWA would like to express our heartfelt condolences to Charline and the rest of the Haas family. Russ will be sorely missed. As was reported on LOP some time ago (in excess of one year ago), after the end of RollerJam, it was said that some of the former skating talent would end up wrestling on WWF programming. This fact will come to fruition Monday as future Florida DerbyJam star Brian "the Blade" Gamble makes his WWF debut in a match this Monday when Raw emanates from Louisiana. Expect this match to be either on the Heat or Jakked part of the show.

Extractions: ROLLERJAM:Live and let live by Bill Nagy Im shocked and disappointed, sad and dismayed, not only at the cruel statements that some fans make about RollerJam, but also the negative comparisons made between the skating leagues throughout the (almost) 30 years I have been a fan of the banked track sport. Perhaps the original International Roller Derby League, as we knew it in 1973 (its last year of existence) is something whose time has come and gone. I also wonder if all those die-hard, hard-core, original IRDL fans realize that all the trash-talking they are doing about RollerJam is not advancing their efforts one bit in reviving the "pure" sport of Roller Derby which they have put on such a pedestal. To the fans out there who do enjoy RollerJam games each week, you are not alone. RollerJam has gotten a following of young fans who never saw the old Roller Derby and old Roller Games and frankly, could care less about them. The kids of today dont want to have to try to identify with something that happened 30 years ago, they want to identify with what is happening for them today. And what is happening for them in banked track skating today is RollerJam.
