For readers who have already appreciated Money's more popular works.

The world's leading sexologist of the 20th century
presents a wide-ranging book, exploring many subjects
related to the sex-script hypothesis:
1) seven criteria for differentiating the sexes;
2) the power of early sex-assignment;
3) sexual imprinting at critical periods in psycho-sexual development;
4) sexual repression gives rise to unusual sex-scripts (paraphilias);
5) male/female self-designation (which sex am I?);
6) developing gender-personalities ('masculinity' or 'femininity');
7) sexual arousal ('normal' or 'abnormal');
8) heterosexuality, homosexuality, & bisexuality;
9) sexual fantasies, pornography, & paraphilias;

Paraphilic Outcomes of Seven Cases in Pediatric Sexology

Summarizing his theory of lovemaps,
Money reviews earlier theories of the causes of unusual sex-scripts,
sorting out foolish ideas from insights that deserve more research.
Most of this book consists of detailed case studies
of seven individuals with sexual birth-defects,
exploring the sources of their unusual sex-scripts.
This is a rather technical book,
which adds few new elements to the theory of lovemaps or sex-scripts,
but it has the virtue of being shorter than many others.

Dr. Money takes seven cases of individuals with known physiological conditions.He then generalizes this information to create a theory for paraphilia for the thousands of paraphiles who have no such physical issues.this is over-generalization at its worst.this looks like an attempt to define normal only in terms of very conservative concepts of sexuality.good for historical interest only, but it's not old enough to be history yet.

Biographies of seven paraphiles
The bulk of this book (7 chapters) is made up of biographiesand discussions of seven paraphiles. They are (as described by theirchapter titles):
1. Pedophilia in a male with a history of hypothyroidism
2. Masochistic disposition and rejected sex reassignment in a homosexual male with congenital micropenis
3. Sadomasochism in a male with congenital micropenis
4. Autoassassinophilia in a bisexual male with a history of congenital ambiguity of the sex organs
5. Masochism in a 46,XY female with Androgen-Insensitivity Syndrome
6. Bondage and Discipline in 45,X/46,XY female with a history of genital ambiguity and early childhood sex reassignment
7. Bondage and Discipline in a female with congenital vaginal atresia

There is also a chapter on historical thoughts about causes of paraphilias, and a chapter summarising the concept of lovemaps, specifically relating to paraphilias (from Lovemaps, 1986; and Gay, Straight And In-Between, 1988). This book introduces a seventh Grand Paraphilic Stragagem (Paleodigm) not mentioned in those previous works, called Subrogation and Understudyship (later renamed Protectorship and Rescue). A chapter discusses possible causes of paraphilia, going beyond the Opponent Process Theory mentioned in previous works.

Perhaps the greatest omission from this book in my view, given the book's specific focus on vandalized lovemaps (specifically paraphilias in this case) is that only two pages are devoted to the two important topics of prevention and treatment. The two pages of this chapter discuss some thoughts on the causes of the paraphilias in the seven biographies (and thus how those paraphilias could have been prevented), and treatment is left to merely mentioning treatment with the drugs MPA and CPA. ... Collected papers from a conference in Berlin in July 1990.
Some are better than others,
as would be expected from such a conference.
But this collection can be read selectively,
depending on the reader's particular interests.

Bisexualities contains no break-thrus of thought or science.
All of the contributors have well-established credentials as sexologists.
A more creative conference could have invited people
who identify themselves as bisexual,
who would attempt to explain their condition, responses,
or constitution (however bisexuality should be described)
--and what they understand to be the origins or sources
of being sexually interested in both men and woman.

Milton Diamond argues that sexual orientation is genetic:
What causes an individual to be aroused by a male or a female (or both)
will be found in the neurology of the brain.
He allows, however, that such genetically-given orientations
are subject to social modification.

John Gagnon takes a sociological point of view:
The concepts, labels, & paradigms of any culture or sub-culture
will shape how sexuality is experienced and discussed therein.
When more celebrities 'come out' as bisexual, it becomes chic.
Some women become involved with other women sexually
because it is 'politically correct' in some feminist sub-cultures.
If men are the oppressors,
women should not cooperate with them in any way
--especially not 'sleeping with the enemy'.
And sometimes the emotional closeness of a feminist group
leads to sexual intimacy.

All persons interested in the phenomenon of bisexuality
should at least have a look at this book.

The author brings to this book 25 years of experience as a leading sex therapist and sexologist in order to present the basic knowledge needed to help achieve orgasm during intercourse. These pages are intended for those who see it as a means of enriching their lives and sexual relationships. Nothing could be further from his mind than to fuel the feeling of being pressured to perform or to preach ideological sexual standards. And it is certainly nothis intent to explain to women how to “come”. Numerous authors have already endeavored to do so over the last decade, as evidenced by the stacks of “how-to” manuals they have penned. Instead, the author attempts to gain some sexological perspective and highlight those contexts best suited for changing attitudes about promoting orgasm.

According to estimates, approximately 10% of all women are generally anorgasmic. This means that they are unable to reach sexual climax despite the presence of the proper situational framework and despite being appropriately and sufficiently stimulated, neither
by masturbating nor during sexual intercourse. The percentage of women unable to climax during sexual intercourse, but indeed able to experience orgasm during other forms of
sexual activity, amounts to over 60%. These women are referred to as coitally or vaginally anorgasmic. The term preorgasmic has a much more pleasant ring to it, as it has a less
judgmental connotation. However, this term is found even less frequently in the literature.

In Shere Hite’s famous Hite Report, only 30% of the women interviewed indicated that they were able to achieve coital orgasm either “always” or “almost always”. Those who checked the box “sometimes” or “rarely” were not included in this statistic. Other authors reported similar figures, leading to the conclusion that 38% had never been able to reach orgasm during intercourse.In terms of frequency of orgasm, large cultural differences appear to prevail.

An excellent overview
The author carefully works out the historical, cultural und individual meaning of the female orgasm. For a man like me the female orgasm has always been a miracle. I didn't know how the different forms of sexual stimulation work - be it the vaginal or the clitoral. And frankly spoken I was not aware of the fact that there is something like a female ejaculation and I had no idea about the lost penis syndrom.

I don't know whether or not I am going go become a better lover but I definitely have got a better understanding of the female sexuality. ... Read more
