I needed this book for a class that started 3 days after I ordered it and I was very lucky to find it here and cheaper than anywhere else I looked.I will deffinately look here in the future.

4-0 out of 5 stars Globalization and Difersity:Geography of a Changing world
It is a college textbook.I found it more readable than most on the subject. The information is current and appropriate. The book is divided up into chapters based on regions. There are helpful guides and study notes. It is good for use at the community college level.

4-0 out of 5 stars For A Textbook, It's Pretty Interesting.
This book is very interesting and makes the subject of Geography interesting down to the micro level. It's packed with helpful photographs, charts, maps, and sidebars that any student should find helpful as they begin to explore this beautiful and diverse world we live in. The only drawbacks I've discovered so far are that the colors on the maps don't always match the legends provided. And the type is condensed. It's not hard to read, but it usually takes longer than anticipated. Also, if you need to use the online features, you need to purchase your book new. Still waiting to hear from the publishers as to what, if anything, purchasers of used products can do.

However, of all the books my Professor could have chosen, I am definitely glad she picked this one. It is divided into 12 world regions, each of which has a separate chapter. It makes cross-referencing information for reports and studying for exams much easier.

Product Description
"A book of stories, a book of prayer, a book to be read meditatively and well," DAKOTA offers a timeless tribute to a place in the American landscape that is at once desolate and sublime, harsh and forgiving, steeped in history and myth. From the award-winning author of AMAZING GRACE, DAKOTA is Kathleen Norris at her most thoughtful, her most discerning, her best. She gives us, once again, a rare "gift of hope and balance, a place to begin" (Chicago Tribune) and assurance that wherever we go, we chart our own spiritual geography.Amazon.com Review
After 20 years of living in the "Great American Outback," asNewsweek magazine once designated the Dakotas, poet KathleenNorris (The CloisterWalk) came to understand the fascinating ways that peoplebecome metaphors for the land they inhabit. When trying to understandthe polarizing contradictions that exist in the Dakotas between"hospitality and insularity, change and inertia, stability andinstability.... between hope and despair, between open hearts andclosed minds," Norris draws a map. "We are at the point of transitionbetween east and west in the United States," she explains,"geographically and psychically isolated from either coast, and unlikeeither the Midwest or the desert west."

Like Terry Tempest Williams (Refuge), Norrisunderstands how the boundary between inner and outer scenery begins toblur when one is fully present in the landscape of their lives. As aresult, she offers the geography lesson we all longed for inschool. This is a poetic, noble, and often funny (see her discussionon the foreign concept of tofu) tribute to Dakota, including itsNative Americans, Benedictine monks, ministers and churchgoers,wind-weathered farmers, and all its plain folks who live suchcomplicated and simple lives. --Gail Hudson ... 1-0 out of 5 stars A Disappointment for Me
I greatly anticipated this books arrival. I too live on the lonesome, wide open, windyplains and hoped to find a kindred spirit in her description of the place I call home. Instead it seems that she is inclined to paint her fellow neighbors with a wide brush....(in her view it seems that way too many of them have a resentment of ANYONE who has a professional title, from teacher to minister and all in between, to the point that those individuals, according to her, often downplay their level of knowledge or education) and though I am a religious person myself, I grew VERY tired of her continual comparisons of herexperiences at her local monastary with everything in life. If you are a fan of reading about theBenedictine monks and their life, with small samplings of landscape descriptions and generalizations of all the small mindedfolks in her town, you might like this one. But, forme, it is one of the few books that I will give up on this year.

3-0 out of 5 stars Love it or Leave It
This book is a patchwork of writings, many previously published, inviting us to visit the plains of North America. Many of the pieces effectively transport you there -- to small towns set apart under the big sky, remote enough to challenge our cultural concepts.Others are more personal, taking you on the author's "spiritual journey," and in these you meet Kathleen Norris the seeker.I'm not sure if it all came together as she intended. I learned things I didn't know about the sparsely settled plains states of our country. If you also want to explore some inner territory, you might like this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Benedictines and small town living
This book came recommended to me during a spiritual retreat.I found it a thought provoking read in prayerfully reviewing my spiritual direction, as well as informative on small town, prairie living in a place dying, but unwilling to embrace outsiders. It also provided alot of information on the Benedictine monasteries. I took my time reading it and the book will be one I long remember.

5-0 out of 5 stars America's own "Rub Al Khali"...
In Saudi Arabia there is a vast area, almost a fourth of the country, known as "The Empty Quarter," (Rub Al Khali), with perhaps a thousand permanent residents. It is the lack of good water that makes permanent inhabitation practically impossible. America has a similar region, although the conditions are not as dire. It is the area between the 100th and 105th meridian, roughly spanning a seventy-fifth of the world's circumference. Due to the lack of sufficient rainfall (less than 20 inches per year), John Wesley Powell (as well as others) said that the land should never be tilled. It was; one of the "fallouts" was the Dustbowl days of the `30's. Today, those who have not emigrated face a hard-scrabble existence, with the remaining farmers tapping deeper and deeper into the Ogallala aquifer. The area is called the High Plains, largely pancake flat, has strong winds, and unlike Saudi Arabia, particularly in the Dakotas, it can be bitter cold.

Why would anyone voluntarily move there? Kathleen Norris did. She left a life in New York City, and embraced the austere bleakness that is northwest South Dakota. Many of her friends were flabbergasted at the move, and this book is largely an answer to why she did it. There are three principal subject matters: the environment, which encompasses the land and the weather; the kind of people who struggle to live there; and, as indicated by the subtitle, "a spiritual geography," dollops of philosophical musings. Norris has brief chapters entitled "Weather Report", with a given date, and generally the reports are not surprises, save, perhaps, the extremes that they can cover. Early in the book she assesses the dynamic tensions and contradictions in the people with a: "...between hospitality and insularity....between open hearts and closed minds." Later she says: "Small-town society often reminds me of the old joke about academic politics--they're so vicious because there so little at stake." And one of the sadder observations that she makes, and counterintuitive in some ways, since you would figure that it is the remote places that reading is more likely alternative: "Many teachers here also seem to give up any thought of lifelong learning... why so many adults in a town like Lemmon stop reading. More than once I've been surprised to discover that people who show no sign that they've ever read a book in their lives, are in fact former teachers, college graduates from the days when an education was said to mean something." She fleshes out these general observations with pithy vignettes involving the very real people of the town.

Concerning how the inhabitants relate to the past, Norris says: "One popular form of writing on the Plains is the local history. These books reveal a great deal about the people who write them but do not often tell the true story of the region... As one old-timer told me, `people have been writing it the way they wished it had been instead of the way it was.'"But it this a "differential diagnosis" of the region's people, or a broader observation on how much of history is written?

As to the philosophical musings, her erudition shines through, and her referential points bounce from Gregory of Nyssa in the 4th century to Carl Jung. Fitting for a place with `spiritual geography', she becomes involved with a nearby Benedictine monastery, and mentions the tales of Heloise and Abelard, when the "monk's face brightens, almost innocently, as he says, "It was the Benedictines who castrated him, you know.'" One might assume it was time to move on!Some of her spiritual geography might be too "new age" for some readers, but I was able to suspend some of my natural cynicism, and reflect on the impact of that "infinite horizon."

So few people live in this area, and only a hand-full have Norris's knowledge and perspective, which is the real strength of this book. Particularly for those on the coasts, looking out their windows as they do indeed "fly over," this book would make their journey much more insightful.

Product Description
Knox/Marston’s contemporary approach fosters awareness of current issues and developing trends from a geographic perspective. The authors give meaning to people and places by integrating compelling local, regional, and global viewpoints. By giving readers access to the latest ideas, concepts, and theories – with a strong foundation in the fundamentals – this book not only builds knowledge about places and regions, but fosters a deeper understanding of the interdependence of places and regions in a globalizing world. A global framework promotes a stronger connection between topical and regional material by emphasizing how their processes are linked (e.g., technological innovation and the varying ways technology is adopted and modified by people and places). The book's changing world perspective reflects many trends in the discipline such as the globalization of industry, the upwelling of ethnic regionalisms on the heels of decolonization and new state formation, and the trend toward transnational political and economic organizations.
Geography Matters; The Changing Global Context; Geographies of Population; Nature and Society; Cultural Geographies; Interpreting Places and Landscapes; The Geography of Economic Development; Agriculture and Food Production; The Politics of Territory and Space; Urbanization; City Spaces: Urban Structure; Future Geographies.

This product arrived within two weeks of ordering and was in the exact condition as described. I was very pleased with my order and would consider using this seller again.

4-0 out of 5 stars Lengthy but VERY good
This book is pretty good except it is extremly lengthy in small texts. At first glance, it looks terrible but as I read through the book all the way to the end, this boook covers most of geographical concepts that other book has and explained in details with examples from current as well as past events. Also have some pictures throughout the book to guide the readers with text in understanding it. Also have glossary and bolded texts to help as well.

This was a required purchase for a course.I am not impressed by the authors whatsoever. One of the authors appears rather angry at the world and the other author provides rather matter-of-fact writing. While I am not sure when political science courses have turned into
'Human Geography," but this field should have remained under the PS umbrella or at the very least, urban development of PS.Much of the text that is covered is also covered under many
intro to poli sci courses, so it is rather redundant, and it is also covered under upper course World Poltic courses as well.

Product Description
Written for undergraduate geography majors and entry-level graduate students with limited backgrounds in statistical analysis and methods, McGrew and Monroe provide a comprehensive and understandable introduction to statistical methods in a problem-solving framework. Engaging examples and problems are drawn from a variety of topical areas in both human and physical geography and are fully integrated into the text. Without compromising statistical rigor or oversimplifying, the authors stress the importance of written narratives that explain each statistical technique. After introducing basic statistical concepts and terminology, the authors focus on nonspatial and spatial descriptive statistics. They transition to inferential problem solving, including probability, sampling, and estimation, before delving deeper into inferential statistics for geographic problem solving. The final chapters examine the related techniques of correlation and regression. A list of major goals and objectives is included at the end of each chapter, allowing students to monitor their own progress and mastery of geographic statistical materials. An epilogue, offering over 150 geographic situations, gives students a chance to figure out which statistical technique should be used for a particular situation. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I wanted
Seller was honest about marking in the book (just some small highlighting that doesn't bother me). Product arrived exactly how it was described. Shipping was lightning fast.

4-0 out of 5 stars A must for any geography major or graduate student.
This text was assigned for an intro-level statistics course I took that was required for geography majors. While the statistical methods covered in this text are not themselves geographical, they can be applied to geographic research in any of the subfields (human, spatial/cartographic, economic, physical, or people/environment).

All the basics of statistical problem solving are covered, including sampling methods and bias, descrptive statistics, inferential statistics, correlation, and regression. Examples are provided with a geographical context, to make the information relevant to students of geography. There is also a helpful epilogue entitled "Geogrphic Problem Solving in Pratical Solutions," which will be of interest to students with research goals.

The chapters are well-written, with ample narrative examples and clear and concise tables and diagrams. The student-directed list of "major goals and objectives" at the end of each chapter is also helpful, along with key terms (with page numbers) and additional references. My only (minor) complaint is that the black-and-white design of the content is occasionally tedious on the eyes, given the extent of narrative content, and the graphic presentations of the equations in-text makes it occasionally difficult to find what you're looking for quickly.

The second edition is an improvement over the first, with more examples and a much clearer format than the first. While this slim volume is a bit expensive new, I wouldn't recommend getting the first edition. As a geography grad student I continue to refer to this text, and have found it a worthwhile investment.

Product Description
Written by one of America's foremost geographers, Postmodern Geographies contests the tendency, still dominant in most social science, to reduce human geography to a reflective mirror, or, as Marx called it, an ""unnecessary complication."" Beginning with a powerful critique of historicism and its constraining effects on the geographical imagination, Edward Soja builds on the work of Foucault, Berger, Giddens, Berman, Jameson and, above all, Henri Lefebvre, to argue for a historical and geographical materialism, a radical rethinking of the dialectics of space, time and social being. Soja charts the respatialization of social theory from the still unfolding encounter between Western Marxism and modern geography, through the current debates on the emergence of a postfordist regime of ""flexible accumulation."" The postmodern geography of Los Angeles, exposed in a provocative pair of essays, serves as a model in his account of the contemporary struggle for control over the social production of space. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Slightly less modern geographies
While I found Mr. Soja's book educational and somewhat enjoyable, I also found a lack of incorporation (which might imply a lack of understanding) of many aspects of postmodern innovations. I do not claim to grasp the genre/concept entirely, but I think that many readers will find that Soja stops his thinking short of where it might be expected to go.

There is a feeble, and seemingly ad hoc, literary structure that the introduction explains as isomorphic of the fragmented spatiality of postmodern geography. I don't buy that explanation. I read the book from beginning to end and did not feel like I was passing through mini-paradigms or multiple perspectives. The first three chapters are exceedingly repetitive and the rest of the book only moderately so; it is perhaps for this reason that the author suggests picking up at any point in the book. Again and again the legacy of traditional academic Marxism is critiqued for ignoring spatiality, yet Soja only asserts the necessity of a fundamental incorporation of space into social theory in a brief portion of the first chapter. What's more, this brief argument is based entirely on the scholarship of other theorists and does not even consider possible objections. As such this book will not, if you are reading it thoroughly, convince you to equally incorporate space and time but only that "everybody else" in geography is doing it.

A summary of recent trends in geography is by no means a poor basis for a book. I was very unfamiliar with (what used to be) contemporary issues in geography, and after reading Soja's work I feel familiar with many theorists as well as the discipline's terminology. Brief aside: Soja absolutely loves academic jargon, so be prepared with a dictionary at hand if you are not a serious academic. But a summary of trends is not what the author makes out his book to be. He calls it a "reassertion of space in critical social theory", yet his rhetorical structure assumes the truth of his position and subsequently presents facts that correlate with this assumed truth. This does not mean that I think the author is wrong about space, simply that he makes a pretty weak assertion.

I learned about a lot of things from this book: Marx's writings and Marxism, Henri Lefibvre, existentialism and its contingence upon the constructed mental space that seperates the individual from the rest of the world, social theorists and geographers in the 70s and 80s that began to incorporate the socio-spatial dialectic into their work, and (unfortunately) that "postmodern" geography is just an equally social, spatial, and chronological form of Marxian analysis. If postmodernism is a rejection of the metanarratives of modernism (as it is in part according to Lyotard) then the type of geography that Soja is describing is not very postmodern. "Postmodern Geographies" questions but ultimately deifies Marx, and in doing so celebrates the inter-era significance of one of the most rigid and deterministic metanaritives.

5-0 out of 5 stars Crucially important work
This is an extremely important book not only for geographers, who will undoubtedly know Soja very well, but also for those in other fields of the social sciences. Space, and the reassertion of it within academic discourse, is seen by many to be a critical component of contemporary social theory. In this book, Soja covers a broad range of perspectives, placing these within the realm of postmodernism. While in some areas I believe he glosses over some concepts and dismisses others too quickly, he manages to weave an intricate story of space from many corners of social theory. It is not a difficult read and is easy to pick up in any spot. I would highly recommend this book to other graduate students (in whatever field) considering space, and spatial analysis, as a component of their research.

4-0 out of 5 stars Handling the ignored spaces of Geography?
Edward Soja is concerned in his book with what I would call the revival of the geographical discourse identity:after decades in which geographers focused on the understanding of Earth, nowadays we realise that there are afew geographicalnotions(space, place, territory, limits, borders, margins, periphery etc.)whichare able to generate a major contribution to the raising of the newcritical social discourse.Soja is one of those who enters this newchallenging game. However,as I wrote in my book"Postmodern Geographyand the Revival of Theory",this new direction in geography runs somerisks, among which the neglecting of the status of Geography itself.EdwardSoja doesn't seem to pay proper atttention to this issue... ... 1-0 out of 5 stars not my kind of Christian perspective
No surprise coming from A Beka, but it really is a shame that the title of this book includes the words, "in Christian Perspective." Perhaps the title could read, "New World History and Geography in Dominionist, Anti-Communist, Fundamentalist Christian Perspective". My son uses this book at the Christian school he attends and has come home asking why the book portrays everything done by the colonial powers as doing the good work of spreading the gospel with little mention of the evils perpetrated in the name of Christ by the colonial powers. Even apartheid in South Africa, while being criticized, is somewhat let off the hook because of their efforts in fighting communists.

The book does little to educate children in critical thinking about the world, but instead spoon feeds them the preconceived notions of the Christian right. If that is what you are looking for, this book is for you.

5-0 out of 5 stars indispensable!
I cannot stress how great it is to own this book. If you don't know where to start when teaching geography and history, begin here. This is a resource you keep handy and refer to often. It is not a curriculum but is filled with reference material, tips, resources, timeline graphics, etc. It will be overwhelming if you try to use it all at once. It covers topics for all ages and styles. This is one I will keep for many years to come.

2-0 out of 5 stars An Introduction to Human Geography
This book was not very well written or edited; in fact, there were several major typos or misspelled words. In one place, the text is discussing three different topics and says "First.... secondly... and secondly" instead of saying "lastly" or "thirdly."

2-0 out of 5 stars Too tedious and unorganized
Although I recognize the intelligence of the author, I would not recommend this book to anyone who is not assigned to have it. The book does very little to help the reader comprehend the information beyond the "Key Terms." I, too, am taking an AP/IB Human Geography Course, and I found this textbook utterly useless. Please, save your money and time and buy a better book. Of course, if you are in college and like to waste your time reading tedious books, then this is your ticket!

2-0 out of 5 stars not the book i spected
This is not the book that i spected but i keeped. i think is another edition i think. Isn't the same picture.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wider Age Span, Covers Subject Well
I was looking for a good geography book for my two children now ages 8 and 12.They have completed several comprehensive workbooks also by American Education Publishing. For variety as well as the need for more thorough map/geography work, I chose to try this particular subject within the "the complete book" series.

I love the creative and interesting ways that map skills are applied in section one. This is NOT a boring book!My younger child is able to create floor plans, lead an ice cream truck on its route through town, draw maps for hiking, solve a mini mystery as well as use map skills to complete a secret mission.Clearly, section one is geared towards the grades 3 & 4 crowd. The rest of the book is more conventional than the first part. That is good since a child must learn what "grown-up" maps look like.

However, the writers got a little carried away with creating "Hamberg Haven County" on page 80.In order to prevent confusion, we skipped that page.Although I value the savings of the combined levels, I do wish section one was longer, and that a similar level of creativity was applied to the following sections.I loved helping the 8 year-old....Not the case with the 12 year-old.Older kids would have also appreciated spy missions and a mystery or two using geography.

I am happy with my purchase. It compiles a wide range of map/geography activities necessary for a successful educational foundation. It is very convenient and a good value for the money when homeschooling multiple children. My 8 year-old and I are only able to finish the first 99 pages before I can re-introduce it to her at a later date. Until that time, I can use the rest of the book with my older child.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good introduction to maps and compasses
I bought this book to help my 8 year old son pursue his interest in maps and geography. We have only used the sections on floor plans and US geography but so far it has been age-appropriate, challenging, and informative.

5-0 out of 5 stars Super fun!Easy to understand, and educational!
My daughter loves this book! She says it is super fun!Easy to understand, and educational! She has learned so much from it!Highly recommend it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Well written, organized
We purchased this book for our son who is in the second grade. Unfortunately our school district just cut all of the "Gifted/Accelerated" programs due to budget constraints, so we are custom tailoring our own(after school) program for him. So far, he is very excited about this workbook and gladly completes 2-3 pages a day. The sections seem to be well organized, building up concepts well. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Daughter's Book
My daughter needed this book for her AP Class and she has found it very useful in her studies.

2-0 out of 5 stars Questionable "reviews" written by others
I don't want to step on any toes, but all seven of the other reviewers wrote one and only one review for this product only. Furthermore, every reviewer gave this a glowing 5 stars. I have to say, this is the worst AP Human Geography test prep book I've found. I've compared it to the others and quite honestly, I cannot recommend it. I know one student who used this book exclusively and got a 2 on the test, despite the fact I observed them 30+ hours in review with this book.

It might be okay as a supplemental study book, but there are better ones out there.

5-0 out of 5 stars BEST APHG TEST PREP!!!!
Without a doubt I must say that this is the best preparation for the APHG exam! I changed schools my second semester and entered APHG not knowing a single thing and missing out on the entire first semester. But luckily this book's review was so incredibly concise and helpful that I was able to get a 5 on the exam!If you are looking for a great prep book, look no further because this is it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Educational Resource!

Why Children Need Wild Places

In this unique collaboration, two naturalists ask what may happen now that so many more children are denied exposure to wildness than at any other time in human history.

"This thoughtful presentation, testifying to children's need for direct contact with nature, has value for parents and those who work with children."

5-0 out of 5 stars Children Need Nature
Nabhan and Trimble show us a world of wilderness that too often are denied our children.Discussing their own experiences as well as those of their children, they give the reader a great appreciation for nature and for childhood. As Nabhan puts it, "The playful exploration of habitat by cohorts of children... [has] been essential to child development for over a million years" (p. 83).An excellent book that has helped inspire my preschool center to add some natural elements to our playground.

5-0 out of 5 stars Inspiring! Reinvigorating for parents
The Geography of Childhood is a collection of essays that inspired me, as a parent, to slow down and enjoy the smaller and often ignored parts of childhood. I've caught myself on many occasions encouraging my child to "look at the view" and take in an entire landscape. This book reminded me to look at him as well, to watch him dig at the dirt or find a funny-shaped rock. "Learning Herps" was my favorite essay, I love the visual images it creates of children catching lizards and parents finding delightful surprises in the bathtub.

3-0 out of 5 stars interesting, pretty pictures, but blah
As the reader breebree mentioned, it is more of a reflection and definitely not a guide to parenting. I found this book to have interesting insights as the authors thought back to their childhoods with a different perspective, and observed the reactions of their children and those of others to their landscape. There were a bunch of cute little nostalgic tales but not a lot of impact. There are messages in there, but they're diffuse. I wish they had put more emphasis on their points or otherwise offered a more concrete discussion than just offering personal examples, muse a bit, and leave it there. It gave enough perspective to discuss our childhoods in small groups but beyond that I didn't find much use for this book.

I was even more disappointed when I discovered that many of Nabhan's stories were presented in Cultures of Habitiat, a book tat was printed later but I had read first.

This is a rambling, musing, anecdotal, diffusely reflective book. Not my cup of tea.

4-0 out of 5 stars The landscape through a child's eyes
Gary Nabhan and Stephen Trimble have penned a fine collection of essays on how children perceive and play in their environment.References are made to psychological studies that support a child's need for wild places, butthe real value I see in this book comes from the authors' own anecdotalexperiences with their children. If you are a parent of small children, you will especially enjoy the ideas you will get for places to takechildren to play and explore. Read this book and you will begin to learnwhy children need to experience wild places. And why, as adults, if weshare the "hands-on" experiences with our kids, our ownconnection to the landscape becomes more deeply rooted.

5-0 out of 5 stars I loved it!
At first glance, this book seems to be another in a long line of published material telling parents how to be good parents. But it really seemed like a personal reflection of what makes life great through a child's eyes. Instead of trying to raise a child through adult methods, this book showsthat through simply remembering what being a child was and why it was funis enough to help you understand what your child is thinking.Through thisunderstanding, you will become a great parent.I was very pleased with mypurchase and recommend this book to anyone that has had any contact withchildren. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Good Starting Point for World Geography
While the lesson plans and outlines are very useful to a homeschooler, it is not until you've purchased the book and begun to read the Introduction and Overview that you learn you need to outlay another twenty-eight dollars to the author, via their own website, for the student notebook used with the course. You also need to purchase additional books both a current edition of The World Almanac and, depending on the grade level of the student you are teaching, one of three Rand McNally World Atlases. So, while I will use this book to teach geography, I am not pleased to discover that this is solely a Teacher's Manual and not a complete course as the title initially suggests.

5-0 out of 5 stars great for multiple ages in one homeschool
This book is excellent if you are teaching kids at mulitple age levels. I do recommend that you get the CD-ROM that goes with it as it is a time-saver! Each week I print out the maps and worksheets, and we sit down to do mapping, pour over a few atlases for information, and go online to look up facts, etc. My kids (ages 5-14) are enjoying it more than any other geography program we have used. It takes very little time to prepare for the week, and not very long to complete the work and learn the material. I love it!! I've already bought the US version for next year! And, the best part, we can save it for future years as it have three levels of learning in the one book and Cd-ROM!

5-0 out of 5 stars Best geograpy book ever!
We have done a lot of geography in our years of homeschooling. This is the best system that I have found yet.I will accomodate several ages of children and really has them explore geography according to age and grade level. Then can also add to their geography notebook every year! This is the last geography curriculum I will buy!

5-0 out of 5 stars Trail Guides Geography
Both Trail Guide to World and U.S. Geography are excellent resources. They contain everything that is needed for the study: lesson plans, study questions, activity suggestions, and any forms needed for the student's notebook. You will need outline maps which are easy to find online, an atlas (obviously), and an almanac. Trips to the library for extra research are helpful depending on how in depth you want to study. There are three age levels of study questions. Also, there are suggested schedules for covering the material over a period of one or two years. You decide how in depth a study you want to do with different trail guides and trail blazing activities. This is a very versatile resource.
