Reprint of hard to find resource
This edition is a print-on-demand photographic reproduction of the Wordsworth-White critical edition of the Vulgate of Acts, first printed in 1905. The four gospels are also available from Amazon: Nouum Testamentum Domini Nostri Iesu Christi Latine: Secundum Editionem Sancti Hieronymi Ad Codicum Manuscriptorum Fidem Recensuit Iohannes Wordsworth ... (Latin Edition). I have not found the Pauline Epistles or Catholic Epistles volumes from a reprint source.

Strangely, the same reprint company is offering two editions of the identical volume with different ISBN numbers. ISBN 1147644179 Nouum Testamentum Domini Nostri Iesu Christi Latine: Secundum Editionem Sancti Hieronymi Ad Codicum Manuscriptorum Fidem Recensuit Iohannes Wordsworth ..., Volume 1; volume 3 (Latin Edition) is listed as having two fewer pages, but the only missing page (that I have discovered so far) is a blank page at the end of the text. The other printing has fewer smudges in the margins than does this one.

The text is reasonably clear, certainly readable. The print area is slightly reduced from the original, which I have been using from our library. If you are looking for this edition, now you can purchase one inexpensively rather than scouring the used book market -- unsuccessfully in my case -- for a very expensive standard tool.

I give the item four stars not because of issues with the content, but because these reprints are extremely difficult to identify accurately. It would be very helpful if the publisher posted a title page for all reprints. ... Read more
