5-0 out of 5 stars INCREDIBLE!
This book offers one of the most thorough examinations of Disneyland history that I have ever seen.It tells little known facts about the park on almost every page, and it's filled with many, many photos andartwork--not just the postcards (which there are many, as well). This bookis HIGHLY recommended if you're a Disneyland fan--and it's available onceagain in a brand new 2nd Edition that just came out January 2000!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Must For Every Fan of Disneyland!
If you're interested in the history of Disneyland, this book offers a play by play,(or shall I say postcard by postcard update)on the development of the the "Happiest Place On Earth."It was clear that BruceGordon and David Mumford did their homework and researched heavily thesubject matter.A few times I laughed out loud at their puns and humor. While the book is a focused on listing the collectible postcards it doesn'tput a value on the on any of them, but the book is well worth theinvestment anyway.I especially appreciate a lot of the secrets notrevealed in other books. For example where the organ from the HauntedMansion came from.Lastly, since The Nickel Tour is focusing on theDisneyland post cards, it truely is a beautiful book that will bring backwarm memories. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Not the same as the US edition.
If you are buying this edition because it is oodles cheaper than the regular US edition, please note that in addition to all units being metric, the homework problems will be in a different order, and it also includes some problems not in the regular US edition.

3-0 out of 5 stars book review
The book that I received was the book that I wanted, but I was under the impression that it would be in better shape than it was, but other than that, it was great.

1-0 out of 5 stars AMAZON CHARGED ME $66 DOLLARS TO RETURN THIS BOOK
I ordered this book for my daughter to use at univeristy.Upon receiving it we realized that it did not have the Wiley computer code for her school and therefore she couldn't use it.I returned the book, unused within four days of receiving it and Amazon.com charged me sixty six dollars plus shipping for the return. DON'T ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY IF THERE IS EVEN A SLIGHT CHANCE THAT YOU WILL NEED TO RETURN THE BOOK>Heck don't even think of ordering from a book store that charges $66 dollars on a $132 book that was returned unused within 4 days.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not Ideal
I used this book for my Multivariable Calculus class last semester. It is, by far, the worst calculus book I have ever used. Most math books are not particularly user-friendly, but this one is truly terrible. It is ok for introducing the very basics, but it does not give students enough information or good examples to complete the problems or learn the material as well as is expected in a college course.
All the example problems are far easier than the actual problems at the end of the chapter. The book seems to be proud of this fact because it says in its "note to students" at the front of the book that you will notice that the problems are rarely similar to the example problems. This is all well and good, but students need some basic exercises to complete to learn the general concept before they can be expected to complete difficult, application-based problems.I found it extremely frustrating when I could not get problem number one in a section, and I am a strong math student and did well in my course.
I also remember several sections that would introduce new theorems without any explanation and direct students to a problem at the end of the chapter. When I would get to that problem, it would offer absolutely no guidance whatsoever and simply ask you to show that the theorem is true.I found this completely useless.
Additionally, I attest that curl and divergence are explained better on Wikipedia than in this text.
The bottom line is that, if this book is not required for your course, do not go near it.However, if it is, go ahead and get supplemental materials (I thought How to Ace the Rest of Calculus: The Streetwise Guide, Including Multi-Variable Calculus was reasonably helpful) and try your best to get a good professor.

1-0 out of 5 stars Worst Calculus 3 book
First off not all the odd problems are given in the back of the book.Second, the problems that the answers are given to are the EASY problems.Check this out...(this is the reason i'm writing this review...# in Chapter 17.3 #11-19 asked to draw vector fields and the answers section gives you the answer to the problems they solved as examples earlier in the chapter!!!How the F#*% am I supposed to learn if I cant check my answers. My professor asked us to solve Q#16
F(r)= -r/||r||^3there are no examples remotely close to this.

This happens in almost every chapter. It just stinks when you actually want to learn and all the teacher does is regurgitate the book who gives easy examples and asks some mind bending questions #Q#16 isnt mind bending but some are!)

If you need help with Calc just youtube MIT and actually learn something!

DONT BUY THIS BOOK, and if you see it on your syllabus find a good supplement!

Excerpt: Stephen Dean Mumford (born July 31, 1965 in Wakefield, West Yorkshire) is a philosopher and Professor of metaphysics at the University of Nottingham. Mumford is best known for his work on dispositions and laws, his main work is a monograph on the metaphysics of natural laws entitled "Laws in Nature" and he is often cited for his first major publication "Dispositions". Mumford was head of the department of philosophy from August 2004 to the end of the academic year in 2007, succeeded by Professor Penelope Mackie. In 2009, Mumford was appointed as head of the School of Humanities, for the University of Nottingham, a position which he has held since 1st August 2009. See main article: Dispositions See main article: George Molnar (philosopher)The late philosopher George Molnar (1934-1999) published only four philosophical papers on metaphysics in his career, but his importance in the field should not be underestimated. After a return to the field, following a self-imposed absence, he was working on a book ("Powers") and continued up until his sudden and untimely death in August 1999. The book remained unfinished until Mumford, who had previously had contact with Molnar, in the summer of 1999, with the intention of giving feedback on the work (nearing completion), was approached to edit the remaining manuscript into a completed book. Mumford, along with several other figures in the field of metaphysics, including David Armstrong, were involved collaboratively in providing insight on Molnar's work, and as a person, but the editing was left to Mumford, as was the writ...More: http://booksllc.net/?id=11088446 ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Does not include Wiley Plus
If you are looking for access to WileyPlus to be included with this book, do not purchase this item.
Even though the product description clearly states, "Readers will also gain access to WileyPLUS", they do not give you access. It does not say that Readers may also gain access for a fee. There is nothing in the listing of this book that says anything about purchasing WileyPlus separately.

Amazon will not stand by their product description.
In fairness to Amazon, they did offer to give me a refund.Since my son is at college now and needs the book, our options are limited and we will not be able to return it for a refund.

Since I can not count on Amazon to describe their products accurately, I have no other option than to look other places for products.

5-0 out of 5 stars amazing
the quality was well beyond the price...and did I mention I got it like "new"?

1-0 out of 5 stars the cover looks nice
I have a Ph.D. in math and teach at a college in California.I compared the Hughes-Hallett book with 7 other calculus books:Anton, Edwards, Larson, Rogawski, Smith, Stewart, Thomas. Here are some concerns with the Hughes-Hallett book.

This book is missing the following topics:reciprocal trigonometric functions (sec x, csc x, cot x), squeeze theorem, logarithmic differentiation, sketching graphs by hand by using derivatives, telescoping series, curvature, tangential and normal components of acceleration, line and surface integrals over scalar fields. All the other 7 books include these topics.

Six series tests are crammed into section 9.4.None of the other 7 books cram all six of these series tests into one section.

The Root Test for series is embedded into two homework problems. All of the other 7 books include the Root Test in a box within a section.

Planes (12.4) are discussed before talking about vectors (chapter 13).All the other 7 books discuss vectors first and then use vectors to develop planes.

Center of mass multiple integral formulas are embedded into the homework problems. All the other 7 books explain center of mass multiple integral formulas within a section.

The preface reads, "Students are expected to use their own judgment to determine where technology is useful."All the other 7 books make it clear when the students should use technology.

The preface reads, "There are very few examples in the text that are exactly like the homework problems. This means that you can't just look at a homework problem and search for a similar-looking `worked out' example."Many students learn calculus by seeing `worked out' examples.

Instructors:If you are considering adopting this book, then you've been warned.

Students:If you have to use this book, then go to class, do your homework, and good luck.

Hope this information helps.

Dr. Chuck

3-0 out of 5 stars Calculus
The book does not give enough examples that a student can follow. Most likely the instructor has to do a good job of explaining steps.
