Usefull, but get your library to buy it.
This book was written as an update to the well-known Handbook of Mathematical Functions by Abramowitz and Stegun.The purpose of the book is to provide polynomial and rational approximations to many of the specialfunctions of interest.Many functions are analytically expanded in termsof Chebyshev (or other) polynomials, and numerical values for thecoefficients are given to many (often 20) decimal places.If you arelooking for a quick numerical procedure for a special function for whichLuke provides the Chebyshev coefficients, then this book is very usefull. Such numerical values are provided for Bessel functions, integrals ofBessel functions,and Struve functions, among others.Recurrencerelations are also discussed in detail.

However, much of the bookconsists of theorems related to expansions of generalized hypergeometricfunctions.While these expansions may be very useful, be prepared to spenda LOT of time if you want to unravel what you need for your specificapplication. In short, I would never recommend buying this book unless youare extremely interested in approximations of functions.Instead, get yourlibrary to buy it, and check it out the next time you need to write acomputer program to evaluate a Struve function. ...
