She lived in a period when mathematics started to become more and more popular in Russia. She gained the respect from all mathematicians of her time not only because of her work but also because of her excellent personality. Bari was considered to be the principal leader of mathematics at Moscow State University. She helped many students earn their Ph.D. and improve their theses. She did everything she could to give to others the spirit of her work. Besides mathematics, Bari had other interests too. She used to hike and be a tourist and she really liked poetry and music. Her death on July 15, 1961 was a lost to all mathematicians. She was a special person and even now is known and remembered for her marvelous work. Women of Mathematics: A Bibliographic Sourcebook. Edited by Louise S. Grinstein and Paul J. Campbell. Greenwood Press. 1987. Obituary, Russian Mathematical Surveys. 17(1) 1962 p.119-127.

THE WORK OF NINA KARLOVNA BARI nina bari grew to be an expert in the field of trigonometric series. nina baritraveled around the world sharing her research in seminars and lectures. http://www.sienahts.edu/~sj103441/SophSem/ninawork.htm
Extractions: THE WORK OF NINA KARLOVNA BARI Stacey Jacobs A few years after the Revolution, the mathematical world in Russia was expanding very rapidly. A transition from traditional mathematics to new areas of abstract mathematics was emerging. The areas of abstract mathematics consist of topics like set theory, abstract algebra, and function theory. Many claimed that this new mathematics was not realistic and mainly for mathematicians entertainment. Nina Karlovna Bari, a loyal member of the Luzitania group, excelled in this style of abstract mathematics. Obtaining her interest in trigonometric series and function theory at the beginning of her college career, Bari based the rest of her life solving many problems that dealt with the uniqueness of the trigonometric series. Baris thesis revolved around one main question, Under what condition is trigonometric development of a given function unique? From others work, Bari concluded that trigonometric developments were not unique. So with her research, she explored two cases where the conditions set were either a M -set or a U -set. An
