Product Description
Michael Brein's Guide to Paris by the Metro shows travelers how to go to Paris's top 50 visitor attractions by the Metro, RER (suburban rail), and tram. The guide shows which transit to use, which lines to take, which stops to board and exit at, and, using about 30 detailed mini-area-walking maps, shows exactly how to walk from these stops right to the visitor attractions. Additional nearby points of interest are also indicated on these mini-maps. An ultra-large (very easy to read) official map of Paris's transit system is also provided. The Paris guide is concise, compact, and comprehensive and fits in your pocket (leave the bulky books back in the hotel room!). Michael Brein's Paris guide is part of the world's first and only travel guide series specifically designed to show travelers how to sightsee the top 50 visitor attractions by public transportation in a variety of the world's most visited cities. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The best way to learn to use the Paris Metro
This publication is an absolute essential for the occassional traveler to Paris. It is in large enough print you can acutally read it and it tells you a good bit of info about the area you exit from.

As a frequent traveler, I say - buy it. It is worth every cent. Doug Toth

4-0 out of 5 stars Must Have
Makes navigating around Paris simple.
Face it Parisian cabs are expensive, sometimes scary and given Paris traffic not very fast. The Metro is relatively fast and convenient. They say that any place in Paris is within 500 m. of a Metro station.
The Metro can seem mysterious to the visitor but not with Michael Brein's guide. It will tell you which line to take to 50+ tourist destinations, where to get off and even where to walk from the station to your objective.
It could use updating but I can not imagine going to Paris without it.

Editorial Review

Product Description
In The Road to Renewal, R. Richard Geddes surveys the current state of U.S. ground transportation and finds that, like the roads themselves, transportation policy is in desperate need of repair. A shift toward increased use of public-private partnerships (PPPs)-contractual agreements that allow private participation in the design, construction, operation, and delivery of transportation facilities-could significantly improve the quality of U.S. roadways. ...
