A weird electrical storm strikes the mall, causing the robots to go nutzo and set their sites on some sneaky teenyboppers staying the night in the mall. All the actors are incredibly annoying, particularly Barbara Crampton's character, who shows us she has a nice chest, and can whine and cry with the best of them. Actually there are two pluses to this film, believe it or not. Rampant nudity and one terrific exploding head. Maybe thats all you need in life..... (a.k.a. Killbots) (dir: Jim Wynorski) Deep Red (1976) The Driller Killer (1982) I'll give you a quick review of the plot before I start bitching about this movie. An artist type is driven mad by various events going on in his life. Nagging girlfriend, no one is buying his artwork, and then the final straw comes into play, a punk band moves into the apartment next door and practices at full volume. How does one deal with such stress? Why,you go out and buy a power drill with which you murder bums living on the street. Why he chose them and not the band or his bitchy girlfriend I'm not sure. All the murder scenes are shot dead on in an unexciting way, and are not very shocking. But the worst thing about this movie is the damn punk band that lives next door. The filmmakers are constantly showing this band playing their shitty ass music, over and over and over again. Almost made me go out and buy a drill of my own, that and watching this movie. Moreno, a personable guitarist/singer who forged a name for himself with the Griff Williams, Dick Jurgens and Harry James bands and who later went on to lead a dance band of his own during the late 1940s, still leads a band today for special occasions and also has had a lengthy career in radio. "I think my band was quite good," Moreno said. "It was a good sounding commercial band."
