Reviews September/01 if a guy like Robert John Mutt Lange, Ritchie zito or even danish tommy Hansen had Virgois a new project/group formed by vocalist, pianist and songwriter http://www.peitersen.com/reviews/september01.html
Extractions: Tracklisting: I will be there; Cry for you; Enuff; Touching me (tonight); Here she comes; Needed to believe; Heaven in my Hands; Back Again; Oriental Eyes; Heavenly Beauty; Heart 2 Heart; Northern Light. Broke[N]Blue is the brainchild of guitarist and keyboard player Lars Abrahamsson who has written all music and lyrics on this debut full lengt album. But what gives this album an extraordinary sound and appeal is the presence of 2 lead singers - a woman and a man. The woman Eva Eggesjö-Abrahamsson has a voice very close to Heart's Ann Wilson and Peter Gustavsson has a high hoarse voice a la Jimi Jamison. This gives the whole album a brilliant approach - if you can imagine a mix of Heart's "Brigade" and Roxette's "Joyride". But I must add that the album "Northern Light" has it's very own identity due to the fact that Lars Abrahamsson has a flair for writing a catchy melody with a significant Scandinavian heartbeat. The album is full of memorable tracks but I will allow myself to mention some like the mighty opener "I will be there" fronted by Eva Eggesjö-Abrahamsson, the groovy "Enuff" and the Bryan Adams inpired "Touching me (tonight)" - but to me the absolutely highlight of the whole album is the duo "Heaven in my hands", a mighty powerful ballade that uses the strength of two vocalist a great guitar and a beautiful melody - a classic in the making!

Kay Starr, Live At Freddy's 1986, Liner Notes such commercial bands as Benny Goodman's and tommy Dorsey's only by a quartet ledby the pianistarranger Frank John Basile, John Goldsby, and Ron zito, I knew http://www.baldwinstreetmusic.com/NBJC202.html
Extractions: Booklet notes by Ted Ono Kay Starr is remembered by many as one of great female pop singers who sold millions of records during the period about which we now fondly reminisce as "the fabulous '50s". It is true that hits like Wheel Of Fortune Side By Side , and The Rock And Roll Waltz did make her an international celebrity, but even many fans who were actively buying her records then failed to recognize her earlier success as a jazz singer. Her roots and experience distinguished her from her contemporaries that included such luminaries as Peggy Lee, Jo Stafford, and Doris Day. Kay Starr was the only "white" singer who made it big despite the unmistakable jazz-blues characteristics in her singing style. What A Diff'rence A Day Made You Always Hurt The One You Love . and, especially, Share Croppin Blues brought her much needed recognition from critics and music fans alike. She enjoyed her notoriety as Barnet's band vocalist until she was forced out of the business by an injury to her vocal cords in 1945. Upon her recovery, she had no problem finding work as a solo because of her reputation as Charlie Barnet's band singer. She settled down in Los Angeles and then offers to record from jazz record producers started to come. First, Dave Dexter of Capitol Records invited her to sing two songs on their all-star jazz date for "Volumes Of Jazz" with Coleman Hawkins, Benny Carter, John Kirby, Bill Coleman, Max Roach and Nat King Cole (at the piano). It was immediately followed by her first leader session on Ben Pollack's Jewell label. In 1946, she recorded a dozen jazz standards on Lamplighter label with Barney Bigard (Duke Ellington's clarinetist), Vic Dickenson, Willie Smith, Ray Linn, Allan Reuss, Zutty Singleton, and Calvin Jackson. Some V-Disc records were cut from many of her appearances on The Arm Forces Radio's "Jubilee" transcriptions, on one of which, she was accompanied by Benny Carter's band.

Dig the Viagra-inspired lyrics on "Little Blue Pill." (Room) There Is Always One More Time Another gem in the 30-CD series of Heritage reissues from Rounder. Adams signed with Rounder in 1983 after a long and spotty career and stayed with producer Scott Billington until his death in 1998. The incredible line-ups they put together for these sessions guaranteed that these would be some of his best recordings: Walter "Wolfman" Washington, Wayne Bennett, Dr. John and Duke Robillard are just a few of Adams talented friends tapped for the various sessions. The collection is capped off by a duet with Aaron Neville on "Never Alone" which showcases the high end of Johnnys incredible range. (Rounder Heritage)

Extractions: You can become a sponsor... researched and compiled by The Media Management Group In the "Golden Age" of the Studio System, Hollywood producers sold to the world an image of their own grand design, part of which was their own glittering identity at the beginning of every movie (and later, at the end of Television series.) Originally these short musical IDs were written on assignment by master film composers working under weekly contract for the studios. Later independent composers would be contracted to write logos for modern production companies and TV networks. Perhaps the most famous studio fanfare is the one associated with "20th Century-Fox" by the legendary Alfred Newman. Newman had started in Hollywood as an arranger for United Artists, but began his film composing career in 1931 with a Samuel Goldwyn picture called "Street Scene." The main theme of this film was used in several ways: as a motif for cues in other filmscores, in an concert overture which became famous on its own, as a popular trumpet instrumental called "Sentimental Rhapsody", then as a secondary THEME for the radio series "My Friend Irma" and later as an on-screen overture to the 1954 picture "How To Marry A Millionaire" where Newman is seen conducting the studio orchestra on camera before the picture begins. (But contrary to popular belief, the famous "Twentieth Century-Fox Fanfare" was not heard at the beginning of Newman's first picture, "Street Scene.")
