Included will be an unusual theatrical presentation in which actors from the Hip Pocket Theatre will perform excerpts from Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream while the orchestra plays Mendelssohn's incidental music for the play. The season, announced on Sunday, includes a number of prominent soloists, among them pianists Emanuel Ax, Jon Kimura Parker and Olga Kern; violinist Leila Josefowicz; cellist Lynn Harrell; and baritone Hakan Hagegard. In an interesting experiment, the orchestra will take an innovation from the world of opera and project texts of vocal compositions above the stage.
