Kaikhosru Sorabji's Sonata Opus VII (Unnumbered) Well, being as I still haven't really accomplished much, I wanted to post the NewYork Times review of soheil nasseri's Carnegie Hall A Young pianist with a http://sorabji.blogspot.com/
Extractions: Actually, in reflection of what I have just posted... the 3rd movement of Beethoven's Pathétique Sonata has 210 measures (compared to Sorabji's 212), so I am led to believe that Sorabji's sonata (which appears to be in one movement only...) is actually not that long. I don't remember how long it took Soheil to play it, I was too enthralled with the piece at the time. Hmm.... perhaps in the end it will end up being 7-8 mintues in this MIDI

Extractions: SOHEIL Nasseri . Not exactly a household name unless the household belongs to folks named Beethoven or Schumann. Concert pianist, 24, he does his next concert piano playing - his eighth solo shot - March 19. American- Persian parentage, nice-looking, here's his lifestyle: Straight 20-hour practice sessions! "I don't want to interrupt the adrenaline," he says. "I don't answer the telephone and postpone eating as long as possible because it's a distraction." So far his Tudor City neighbors aren't throwing him out. "It's a pre-war building with thick walls and most tenants are gone all day and my neighbor underneath is friendly." After the 20 hours he sleeps for 10 straight and then around 1a.m. pub-crawls to such classical places as Bungalow 8 and Lotus until 4. "Otherwise it's very lonely for me. I see nobody. It is an anti-social life." Whatever, you can see/hear him the 19th. Carnegie's Weill Recital Hall.
