Grammy-nominated artist releases patriotic Album, Plans National Tour AMERICAN FORK, UTAH Grammy-nominated pianist David Glen Hatch's new CD, Let Freedom Ring, is a collection of newly arranged patriotic songs that capture the American spirit. He will be showcasing these songs on a nationwide patriotic tour this fall. "September 11 left me with a desire to heal troubled hearts and to remind us all of the privileges of patriotism and the blessings of being an American. Music is my language to soothe the soul and make the heart soar," said David Glen Hatch, nationally acclaimed concert pianist. "With that in mind, I specifically chose songs that would show America's resilience through our tragedies and triumphs." Let Freedom Ring features traditional favorites, folk medleys, Broadway and pop hits, and original songs. "The tapestry of America is woven with the familiarity of Yankee Doodle and Battle Hymn of the Republic, the gentleness of the Shenandoah Valley and the exuberance of Dixieland, and with medleys that touch back to the Revolutionary and Civil Wars," said Hatch. "From a Distance became an anthem of the Gulf War and God Bless America defines us as Americans today."

'The Singles Ward' Strong in Second Week "The Singles Ward," the cameo-filled comedy directed by Kurt Hale, was going strong in its second week, a box office take bringing its total to over $100,000 not bad for a movie that cost only about $425,000 to make. David Hatch 1998 LDS Education Forum. Music! Enhancing Your Child's Education.david glen hatch. LDS Concert pianist. Your child's education. Think http://www.gobfa.org/lds_education_forum/98/David Hatch.htm
Extractions: Your child's education. Think for a moment how different it would be if we did not have music in our life. Music is with us everywhere. It's in everything. We are surrounded by music throughout our lives. For instance, can you remember the last time you heard the music of chirping crickets or croaking frogs, singing birds, a mother's lullaby? And even the very sound and the very rhythm of nature is music. We also hear music on radio and television and in elevators, grocery stores, movies. airports, dental and medical offices and concerts and just about everywhere. One poet wrote, "For the things that are common in every day, God gave man speech in a common way. But for tile deepel' things men think and feel, God gave the past words to reveal and for the heights and depths that know no reach, God gave man music, the soul's own speech." (Presentation) Thank you so much, thank you. So, you like Chopin. Yeah, did any of you know that's who that was'? Beethoven stated it clearly: "Music's author is God and not man. He laid the key note of all harmonies, He planned all perfect combinations and He made us so that we could hear and understand." So, if music is from God, it is my opinion that it should be of divine interest for us all. Thus, as parents, we have a critical responsibility to provide our children with this spiritual dimension in their lives, for it is during the formative years of their training that the nurturing and developing of musical disciplines achieve their greatest success.
