The Minister was one of several speakers, including Fr. Joe. There was consternation when the team captain, Georgie Foley, announced that training was to recommence on Tuesday night - in Hotel Naomh Seosamh, he was quick to add to lusty cheers. Extractions: This was a colourful production, directed by Tony Finnegan, last year, in the style of Dick Tracy, the Warren Beatty movie. Martina Flynn was a stylish Adelaide with a deadpan humour that erupted into the sniffles to the obvious delight of the audience. This was Martina's fourth AIMS award. She said she "was very pleased and it was a great honour". Tobie Hickey was an hilarious Nicely Nicely Johnson whose comic antics dominated so much of the show as did his rendition of the big number "Sit Down You're Rockin' The Boat". Tobie was elated and said, "It's just the business, such a buzz to be selected out of 87 shows in the 32 counties". The show's producer, Tony Finnegan, made quite an impact with nominations in 26 categories and 10 awards. This is a phenomenal record. The Carrick production of "Jesus Christ Superstar" won two awards: The Best Lighting Christy Butler Trophy and the AIMS Unsung Hero Award to Willie Allen. Willie Allen does lots of the behind the scenes work that is so vital to societies and the public never realise happens.

Having a great interest in the Arts and, especially, in the promotion of young talent, Jim Molloy presented his first concert at the prestigious National Concert Hall, Dublin in 1998 / 1999 with the first of The La Scala to the Met Series of Concerts. These concerts enabled us to bring young and non-established singers to the concert platform in supporting roles to well known and more established stars such as acclaimed Irish soprano, Niamh Murray on a number of occasions, Ronan Tynan (The Irish Tenors fame), English International Tenor, Arthur Davies, American International Tenor, Richard Roberts, Irish Tenor Declan Kelly and, of course, the highly acclaimed Irish Soprano, Kathryn Smith and international Tenor Anthony Kearns on a number of occasions. Apart from promoting young singers, Jim Molloy Promotions has a keen interest in young instrumentalists. Another great young Irish talent is the Cellist, Gerald Peregrine who took part in the La Scala to the Met 3 in November 1999 and is now studying in America where his aunt Moya O'Grady is so well known.
