Extractions: by Tony Lombardi and Jim Primock The spectacular opening night of this weekend set the pace for the best festival ever brought to Colorado. The big sky was clear and temperatures in the 70s made it a perfect night to be outdoors. The idea to have a 3-day event was a huge risk, given the chance of rain. But the rain was not to be. Everything lined up to make a sure-fire splash for the entire weekend. The preparation and coordination were executed with success by the promoters and volunteers. The performers played intensely, some playing the best sets that I have seen them do. And there was no shortage of Blues stars being in town for this event.
