First, thank you for your vote of confidence in electing me. I will endeavour to uphold and fortify the traditions of the PTA. Let me thank the existing and new committee members for continuing to give of their time and considerable talents, of which you are no doubt aware. I have written personally to new parents explaining the purpose and aims of the PTA. Special thanks must go to our outgoing Chairman, Kate Assmann, for her many achievements during her incumbency.

There were many excellent stalls but perhaps the highlight was the interesting makeover of our respected headmaster! Thank you to all who supported this event. Oh What a Lovely War This was a superb production and a fitting farewell to Mr Turner. We all wish him every happiness for the future. The raffle raised £79 which, as always, is fed back into the drama department funds. Mediaeval Banquet: After many sleepless nights on the part of the committee this went exceptionally well and a great time was had by all the revellers. Over 50 people, arrayed in a wide variety of splendid period costume, enjoyed a sumptuous meal and non-stop entertainment, presided over by Baron Ryk of Craigmyle and his lady. The Dining Rooms were transformed into a grand Banqueting Hall, lit by over 60 candles, with a fine timber fireplace at one end and the high table at the other. The walls and high table were adorned with 60 shields and the floor strewn with copious wood shavings! For three hours we dined on roast pork and chicken with a delightful selection of sauces and vegetables, washed down with flagons of mulled wine or apple juice and followed by a delicious hedgerow pie with white sauce; a fine cheddar completed the meal. We were waited on throughout by the very capable serving wenches from Upper V.
