Lessons America's foremost pianists, conductors, and composers choose Baldwin Many of the world's most respected pianists classical, jazz, pop and rock own Baldwin pianos and request them for their performances and recordings. In addition, an impressive number of highly celebrated conductors, composers, vocalists, educators, orchestras and other musical organizations also have chosen the Baldwin piano for practice and performance. Such a voluntary choice of a certain piano is a professional judgment and commitment, not a paid commercial endorsement. No performer can afford to trust his or her career to an instrument that is less than the finest available. The expressed and continued performance by this distinguished list of experts, therefore, represents a strong testimonial to the musical excellence of the Baldwin piano. Kent State Emeritus Professor Takes Three Trips To East margaret baxtresser discovered this on a recent trip in China. baxtresser, internationallyrenowned pianist and emeritus professor of piano at Kent http://www.stater.kent.edu/stories_old/98sum/071598/n5a.html
Extractions: Things aren't always as they seem. Margaret Baxtresser discovered this on a recent trip in China. When introduced to a Chinese peasant, instead of meeting a field laborer in ragged clothes, Baxtresser was surprised to meet a well-to-do, middle-class man, running a booming, $80,000 a tree, bonzai nursery and a furniture factory. This former forester for the state is one of many to reap the benefits of China's liberation to a free trade system for its people. Baxtresser, internationally renowned pianist and emeritus professor of piano at Kent State University, said she found Westerners hold many misconceptions about Eastern countries and their culture in her three visits to Hanoi, Vietnam. Her third trip included Hong Kong and Hangzhou and Cgengdu, China.

Beacon Journal | 02/06/2003 | 'Firebird' Takes Flight Ohio Ballet's music director, David Fisher, and Akron pianist margaret Baxtresserhave made twopiano arrangements that they will perform live for the three http://www.ohio.com/mld/ohio/entertainment/performing_arts/5118325.htm
Extractions: Don't expect a solo female dancer decked out in red plumage when Mark Schneider's Firebird comes to E.J. Thomas Hall this weekend. Schneider, the choreographer-in-residence at Ballet Tucson, didn't use the story line from the Russian fairy tale, and the ballet focuses on the ensemble work of all 12 members of the Ohio Ballet, instead of choosing one star. ``It's basically about the last holocaust. Everything is destroyed, and out of the ashes, almost like a phoenix, firebirds are born,'' Schneider said. ``Everyone in the company ends up being a firebird. It's kind of a symbol of freedom and a new way of life.'' Firebird is one of five pieces on the Ohio Ballet's repertory programs at E.J. Thomas Hall in Akron this weekend and at the Ohio Theatre at Playhouse Square in Cleveland Feb. 14 and 15.

Extractions: William plays the Altus Limited model with open G# "I love my Altus flute. It has a rich and vibrant sound, which not only gives a singing, well projected sound in a hall but also records very well. The tubes of the Altus are made with the same process as the tubes of the Louis Lot more than a century ago. This process causes the silver to have greater density than the silver in modern cold drawn tubes used by other makers. This extra density gives the tone of the flute resonance and depth. I recommend the Altus because I prefer the tone and intonation of this instrument to any other modern instrument." - William Bennett Congratulations William Bennett!
