Product Description
The Möbius strip or Möbius band is a surface with only one side and only one boundary component. The Möbius strip has the mathematical property of being non-orientable. It is also a ruled surface. It was discovered independently by the German mathematicians August Ferdinand Möbius and Johann Benedict Listing in 1858. The shape of the Möbius Strip probably dates to ancient times. An Alexandrian manuscript of early Alchemical diagrams contains an illustration with the visual proportions of the Möbius Strip. This image, on a page titled 'The Chrysopoeia of Cleopatra, has the appearance of an Ouroboros, and is referred to as the 'One, All'. A model can easily be created by taking a paper strip and giving it a half-twist, and then joining the ends of the strip together to form a loop. In Euclidean space there are in fact two types of Möbius strips depending on the direction of the half-twist: clockwise and counterclockwise. The Möbius strip is therefore chiral, which is to say that it has "handedness" (as in right-handed or left-handed). ... Read more

Product Description
Time Trip on a Moebius Strip is a science fiction mystery novel about sixteen famous people of history who disappeared and are presumed dead. In the novel they all find themselves lost in another dimension. The main character is a marine biologist who enters this other dimension by way of a vehicle riding upon a Moebius strip inside of a giant nautilus shell. On meeting all of these lost people he learns each of them have been brought to this timeless domain by a cloud. Fourteen of them have also seen an angel in their lives. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars "Kirkus Discoveries Review" of "Time Trip on a Moebius Strip"
A scientist enters another dimension through a giant seashell and meets a cast of historical
characters.
Marine biologist Philip Grieg had a magical, if unsettling, experience as a child. Growing
up on the beaches of Padre Island, Texas, he was accustomed to strange artifacts washed ashore
by the Gulf of Mexico. But none matched the wondrousness of a ten-foot-high shell, one so large
that the young Philip could walk inside. There, he heard an eerie voice that would haunt him into
adulthood. Twenty-five years later, Philip is a prominent scientist, with the specter of the seashell
still lingering over him. He looks up a friend, professor Moebius at Harvard, and asks for help in
resolving the mystery of the otherwordly shell. The professor has a secret weapon at his disposal: His great-grandfather was Dr. August Moebius,
who discovered the Moebius strip, a geometrical and physical oddity with two edges but only one surface. It is said that traveling along the strip is
akin to traveling between dimensions. Thus, Philip and Moebius, with the help of the beautiful M.D. Elaine Rogers, work to lay a track of Moebius
strip down inside the spiraling, symmetrical shell, aiming to gain access to the supernatural properties it possesses. Using vehicles to speed around
the strip, they soon confirm their suspicions and enter another dimension, one that exists between the living and dead. The space is populated by
noteworthy historical characters, all dead or presumed missing. The protagonists meet John Dillinger, Amelia Earhart, Jimmy Hoffa, Glenn Miller
and George Leigh Mallory, among others. There, the plot unravels and forward motion ceases, literally and figuratively, as each of the notorious figures
tells their story, and Philip looks for a common thread. The stories become episodic and unlinked, causing the narrative to suffer. The mishmash
of history and pseudoscience don't do the story any favors; while interesting, readers may doubt its accuracy. There is too heavy a reliance on historical
information throughout, and not enough focus on realistic dialogue or narrative development. Literary audiences, however, will enjoy Lewis'
tribute to Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass, and how he ties it into the plot.
Trippy bit of indulgent storytelling, readable in short bursts.

Product Description
High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! In mathematics, and particularly topology, a fiber bundle (or fibre bundle) is intuitively a space E which locally "looks" like a product space B × F, but globally may have a different topological structure. Specifically, the similarity between the fiber bundle E and a product space B × F is defined using a continuous surjective map pi : E to B that in small regions of E behaves just like a projection from corresponding regions of B × F to B. The map ?, called the projection or submersion of the bundle, is regarded as part of the structure of the bundle. The space E is known as the total space of the fiber bundle, B as the base space, and F the fiber. In the trivial case, E is just B × F, and the map ? is just the projection from the product space to the first factor. This is called a trivial bundle. Examples of non-trivial fiber bundles, that is, bundles twisted in the large, include the Möbius strip and Klein bottle, as well as nontrivial covering spaces. Fiber bundles such as the tangent bundle of a manifold and more general vector bundles play an important role in differential geometry and differential topology, as do principal bundles. ... Product Description
High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! In mathematics, a Seifert surface (named after German mathematician Herbert Seifert) is a surface whose boundary is a given knot or link.Such surfaces can be used to study the properties of the associated knot or link. For example, many knot invariants are most easily calculated using a Seifert surface. Seifert surfaces are also interesting in their own right, and the subject of considerable research.Specifically, let L be a tame oriented knot or link in Euclidean 3-space (or in the 3-sphere). A Seifert surface is a compact, connected, oriented surface S embedded in 3-space whose boundary is L such that the orientation on L is just the induced orientation from S, and every connected component of S has non-empty boundary.Note that any compact, connected, oriented surface with nonempty boundary in Euclidean 3-space is the Seifert surface associated to its boundary link. A single knot or link can have many different inequivalent Seifert surfaces. A Seifert surface must be oriented. It is possible to associate unoriented (and not necessarily orientable) surfaces to knots as well. ... Read more

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! In mathematics, the Seifert?van Kampen theorem of algebraic topology, sometimes just called van Kampen's theorem, expresses the structure of the fundamental group of a topological space X, in terms of the fundamental groups of two open, path-connected subspaces U and V that cover X. It can therefore be used for computations of the fundamental group of spaces that are constructed out of simpler ones. ... Read more

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The universal recycling symbol (? or ? in Unicode) is an internationally-recognized symbol used to designate recyclable materials. It is composed of three chasing arrows that form a Möbius strip or unending loop. In 1969 and early 1970, worldwide attention to environmental issues reached a crescendo, culminating in the first Earth Day. In response, then Chicago-based Container Corporation of America, a large producer of recycled paperboard which is now part of Smurfit-Stone Container, sponsored a contest for art and design students at high schools and colleges across the country to raise awareness of environmental issues. It was won by Gary Anderson, a 23-year-old college student at the University of Southern California, whose entry was the image now known as the universal recycling symbol. ... Read more

Product Description

Two award-winning graphic artists have produced an outstanding tale of cyberpunk adventure and the quest for freedom.

Icaro is a thrilling manga science fiction adventure in the tradition of Akira, Ghost in the Shell and Clamp's sf sagas. Icaro is the mind-bending, fast-paced adventure of a young man, Icaro, with the ability to fly and a young woman, Yukiko, who risks her life -- and more -- to help Icaro achieve his dream. Best of all, it capitalizes on Taniguchi's ability to depict a vast and oppressive advanced science laboratory that has made Icaro its guinea pig and will use all its resources to keep him imprisoned for study.

Icaro's fight to be free and Yukiko's sacrifice to aid him in his quest make this one of the most inspiring manga stories and one of the first significant original manga collaborations betweenEast and West. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Not for Moebius fans
As a fan of Moebius I found this very disappointing.Moebius is known for his Sci-Fi/fantasy and westerns. The artwork in the SF work is amazing and the stories are usually pretty good too.The westerns rely mostly on the story and the art work is OK.Icaro hasa story that moves glacially slow and the all black and white art work is pedestrian at best.Did Moebius really have a hand in this?? Yes, it's pretty clear from the images that he did, but the effort is Way below Airtight Garage, Incal, Arzach, Lt. Blueberry, etc. Two thumbs down.

4-0 out of 5 stars Freedom Learned Cannot Be Denied
Icaro is a strange boy and this is his story. We begin just before his birth where his mother is dreaming of flying while in labor. In her dream she plummets, awakes and Icaro is born. But Icaro is not like other babies.Icaro defies gravity.Icaro also seems to be the result of some genetic tampering.Icaro is then placed into study.

Twenty years later, Icaro is kept in a converted mining facility. There he has grown up and never seen the sky.Although twenty years have passed, the controlling characters seem not to have aged a single day.

But Icaro is not the only odd character. The city is being attacked by rebels that can explode at will. There is some hinting to their origins.

But the real story is that of Icaro as a young man.Although he knows no other life, there is a growing need in him.He seeks freedom, the sky, love and possibly lust. His flying abilities allow him a great freedom of movement should he escape his cage (a large domes atrium).

This first volume ends with Icaro attempting freedom.I look forward to the next volume of this intriguing story. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars It's Raining Shemales!
This book covers the erotic goings-on at an apartment building where all the tenants are shemales and clothing appears to be optional.Rather than one long narrative focusing on one character, it plays more like an ensemble piece. It is very good, my one gripe is that with the excpetion of one of them, all the shemales have small members.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Shemale Fun
If you're into shemales, then this one is for you. This book is a series of short erotic adventures all taking place at an apartment building populated exclusively by shemales (even the janitor is one).At the end all of the characters come together (not literally) for a game of bingo played in a way I've never seen before.Once that's done, the reader is treated to a gallery of assorted shemales.

All the women(?) are attractive, and hardly a page goes by without some kind of sexual activity going on.My only complaint is that only a couple of them are well-hung.

2-0 out of 5 stars Poorly drawn, not sexy
Very disappointed to read this book. The drawing style is overly simple and juvenile and doesn't lend anything to the story- the poor drawing actually makes the characters *less* attractive.
Disappointing story as well- girls with guy's parts just isn't interesting to me and the sex was downright boring.

5-0 out of 5 stars Exquisite
This adult graphic novel by Baldazzini (Moebius only writes an introduction) is one of the best I've seen yet.It is about the inhabitants of a condo who all happen to be sexually promiscuous shemales (the story itself sometimes implies that they were born this way, a physical impossibility, but it is a comic book). The characters are all so gorgeous and feminine that even someone like myself who finds the reality unappealling will enjoy it.

Before reading this graphic novel, I was only familiar with Baldazzini's pinups which tend to be deceptively simple in style but extremely elegant and accomplished. Many influences, mostly turn of the century (art nouveau, noir, etc.) can be seen, although it does sometimes also have a futuristic quality. Some pinups in the style I'm used to fill out the last pages of this collection. However, his artwork for the main story is a bit more cartoonish, but still has a great deal of elegance about it and is very beautiful. The storyline is very simplistic (just a lot of sex scenes with little plot), but as Moebius notes in his introduction, all of Baldazzini's characters are filled with a wonderful sense of guiltless innocence. As a result instead of the usual sense underlying most graphic novels that everything taking place is somehow dirty or illicit, Baldazzini's work has a sense of joyfulness and good clean fun to it (despite its extremely graphic nature) that makes it a pleasure to experience. This gets my highest recommendation. ... Read more

Who was the man known to us as Blueberry? This bizarreand unusual name belonged to a mysterious soldier of fortune whosetrail can be followed through the history of the American West, afigure who appeared to have been involved in some of the most dramaticevents in American history, but who always remained behind the scenes.

The West is rife with legends and tall tales of men such as JesseJames, Billy the Kid, the Dalton Brothers, Wild Bill Hitchcock, andeven better known figures such as General George Armstrong Custer. Butthe casual researcher will be able to locate only a few, incompletestories about the man named Blueberry. No pulps were written abouthim, no serials were made about his exploits and, until recently, hisvery existence had sunk into an obscurity that he would have mostlikely welcomed.
