4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent & Valuable Book...
Very nice, understandable, and well edited book. it met my expectations and a bit more :)

There was a little mishap (a typo) which was corrected by appendinga reprinted paper at the book cover (a figure was not named correctly). but that didnt make me hate the book at all.
However, packaging was not very good, and the book edges were significantly worn out and dirty.
I didnt ship it back because i already received the book outside USA. and shipping cost was very high compared to US shipping.

Product Description

Conductive Keratoplasty (CK) is a unique technology approved to treat the near vision problems of baby-boomer patients. Inside Conductive Keratoplasty: A Primer, you will learn the distinctive characteristics of the technology, identify the best potential candidates, review surgical techniques, recognize ways to optimize outcomes, and manage complications.

As CK continues to gain popularity in the ophthalmic community, it has become equally important for a reference to emerge detailing the important factors surrounding the technology. Drs. Roberto Pinelli and Stephen Pascucci explain how this FDA-approved technology can correct both hyperopic and presbyopic conditions.

The first section of Conductive Keratoplasty includes a description of the history of thermokeratoplasty and details the important features of this unique procedure. The insight offered by worldwide-renowned surgeons regarding their surgical pearls and ways to avoid potential complications is invaluable to physicians looking to adopt this technology into their practice.

The second section consists of clinical cases using CK technology. These cases are first profiled and then analyzed to detect how this technique can improve patients with near vision disorders as well as other refractive challenges. Current and future CK surgeons will benefit by learning from the experiences of the early users of this technology.

Conductive Keratoplasty is an excellent reference that successfully details the technology, indications for the technology, and the surgical pearls to performing CK.

Topics Include:

  • Mechanism of conductive keratoplasty
  • The conductive keratoplasty system
  • Personal techniques
  • Basic nomograms
  • Patient evaluation and work-up
  • Complication management
