Ted recently recorded an album with George's famous Quintet featuring John Pizzarelli for Telarc Records which will be released in April, 2002. Ted toured extensively with the Quintet many years ago, and now has reunited with the band for some special performing and recording dates. Chair of the piano department, Stephanie Brown and cello professor Peter Wiley join violinist Arnold Steinhardt backstage at the Metropolitan Museum of Art after the opening performance of the Guarnari Quartet's 2001-2002 concert series. Professor Brown performed the Brahms Quintet. Janine Knox, a piano Masters student of Stephanie Brown, and violinist Misha Keylin performed at the Cultural Center in Chicago on October 17. They were part of the Dame Myra Hess Recital Series. In addition, they repeated their concert at the Performing Arts Dept of the University of Illinois on the Chicago campus. The program consisted of works by Tartini, Wieniawski, Paganini and Sarasate. Jim Pugh, Steve Dunkel and John Rutherford relax with YoYoMa at Hit Factory Studios, NYC after recording Byambasuren Sharav's "Legend of Herlen". The piece is part of an upcoming Silk Road Project CD and is orchestrated for morin khuur (Mongolian horsehead fiddle), voice, piano, three percussion and three trombones (2 tenors, 1 bass). | |
