Only 52 will advance to the State Finals this weekend, March 21-23. High school Unified teams will battle it out at Butler University in Indianapolis. All other teams will travel to Indiana State University in Terre Haute. The Unified Sports program combines athletes with and without mental disabilities of similar age and ability levels on the same team. Ice Skating Championships held February 27 Approximately 65 athletes competed at the Ice Skating Championships, which were held at the Pan Am Plaza in downtown Indianapolis. Competition was offered in figure skating and speed skating events. Spectators were treated to some freestyle routines, as well as the basic figure skating skills and speed skating thrills! Wintry dip raises $88,000 More than 150 people ventured out in blizzard-like conditions to take a dip during the Indianapolis Polar Bear Plunge to benefit Special Olympics Indiana.
