  • (Lyrics) Twenty six years after their memorable classic Vertigo LP of the 70’s, comes this second album of songs from the new Tudor Lodge. The delicate blend of the two guitars, a trademark of the first album, is still there in many of the arrangements, but the music has moved on. Eight of these tracks were recorded in the mid 80’s when Tudor Lodge was John, Lynne and Lyndon (tracks 2, 3, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12 and 15). The sessions were produced by Paul Windsor, a friend and local musician, who also played bass on some of the tracks. They were supported by Chris Collingtree and Roger Keene adding drums and percussion to selected tracks. The remaining songs were recorded by Lynne and John in the autumn of 1996. On these sessions they played all the instruments.

The only threat to my liberties I remember came directly from lyndon Johnson,Richard Nixon and the US government! roger Young responds to a critic.
    http://www.strike-the-root.com/archive/young.html
Roger Young's Columns Shed No Tears For Columbia Or The Military " This is a voluntary force that willfully supports and carries out the orders of the ruling regime to spread its empire, misery and bankruptcy....These are supposedly intelligent people who make the fatal decision to 'serve.' Who are they serving as they blast away innocents on the other side of the world who never did me any harm? Are they serving their families who are tearfully torn from them as they obediently march off to glory? Are they serving the Constitution as their superiors make plans to fight still another undeclared, illegal war? Are they protecting my liberty while I daily lose more personal freedoms as more restrictive laws are declared and more agents of The State are unleashed in my community to regulate and monitor my every activity and lifestyle decision? " A hard-hitting column by Roger Young. Why Not Start at Zeroand Stay There? "How about a permanent 'zero budget'? With no operating funds available the state would have to rely on voluntary donations to survive. To do this it would have to offer services that free individuals needed, wanted and are willing to pay for. In other words, the 'services' offered by the statists would come under the discipline of the free market rather than be coerced by the mob-force of democracy. Only those services truly desired by the public, not craved by lobbyists, would be supported and the rest would simply fade away into the ether like so much shuttle debris." Column by Roger Young.

  • CONTAINING AN ACCOUNT OF HIS EXTRAORDINARY ADVENTURES; MISFORTUNES; HIS SUFFERINGS IN THE SERVICE OF HIS LATE PRUSSIAN MAJESTY; HIS VISITS TO MANY OF THE COURTS OF EUROPE; HIS MARRIAGE, AND SPLENDID ESTABLISHMENTS IN ENGLAND AND IRELAND; AND THE MANY CRUEL PERSECUTIONS, CONSPIRACIES, AND SLANDERS OF WHICH HE HAS BEEN A VICTIM. Who knows, but for the fault of a woman, I might have been wearing it now? You start with incredulity. I say, why not? Had there been a gallant chief to lead my countrymen, instead of puling knaves who bent the knee to King Richard II. they might have been freemen; had there been a resolute leader to meet the murderous ruffian, Oliver Cromwell, we should have shaken off the English for ever. But there was no Barry in the field against the usurper; on the contrary, my ancestor, Simon de Bary, came over with the first-named monarch, and married the daughter of the then King of Munster, whose sons in battle he piteously slew. In Oliver's time it was too late for a chief of the name of Barry to lift up his war-cry against that of the murderous brewer. We were princes of the land no longer; our unhappy race had lost its possessions a century previously, and by the most shameful treason. This I know to be the fact, for my mother has often told me the story, and besides had worked it in a worsted pedigree which hung up in the yellow saloon at Barryville where we lived.

The Reunion by Lyndon W. Bournon
    THE REUNION
Joe and Vera were getting ready to take a trip. They were planning on driving from their home in Kemnay, Manitoba to London, Ontario. The journey would probably take three days, as the distance was around 2000 kilometres.
Joe and his wife Vera would share the driving, but they planned on only driving for ten hours or so each day. Although only in their forties, they certainly preferred to pace themselves rather than arrive somewhere exhausted.
Joe and Vera were both from Manitoba, and were both Metis. Joe’s features, however, showed more of the Cree side of his heritage than Vera’s, but both had dark hair, turning gray. Joe was close to six feet in height and weighed 220 pounds, which was a little more than he figured he should be. Vera, on the other hand, was just under five feet tall, but she, too was a little overweight.
They were going to London because they had recently discovered that Vera’s sister, who she hadn’t seen since they were both small, was living there. Vera and Wilma, her sister, had become separated after their mother died in a car accident. Their father had left the family not long after Wilma – who was the younger daughter – had been born. Both girls had been adopted by new parents, but unfortunately, not together. Vera’s new family raised her in Winnipeg and Wilma’s family lived in London.
Vera had not been able to trace her sister until Wilma answered an ad in the Globe and Mail. Vera had placed the ad on the advice of a family-tracing agency and the idea had paid off. Imagine the mixture of surprise and joy that Vera felt when she received a phone-call from Wilma!

    ELECTION PERSPECTIVES
    November 11, 2002
For perspective on last week's elections, Gwen Ifill talks with four presidential historians.
GWEN IFILL: On this Veterans Day, the President once again pressed the case for taking action in Iraq. And as Congress returns for a lame-duck session this week, he plans to continue setting the agenda. What does history tell us about the President's chance for success? For that, we turn to our "NewsHour" regulars: Presidential historians Michael Beschloss and Roger Wilkins, journalist and author Haynes Johnson, and Richard Norton Smith, director of the Dole Institute at the University of Kansas. Richard, we heard the President today in his speech at Arlington National Cemetery make the link between patriotism and service, and the need to confront outlaw regimes wherever they may be. There's a certain muscularity in his rhetoric and there has been a lot of that since last Tuesday. Do you hear any echoes in that? RICHARD NORTON SMITH: Well, clearly this is a man who seems to be at the top of his form. But it's interesting, once in a while even historians are stumped. If we look for parallels to the current situation, it's very difficult to find any. Remember after the 2000 election we all got sick of hearing about Rutherford B. Hayes and John Quincy Adams, those members of the accidental Presidents club? Well, go back and look at how they did in their off-term elections, they were disasters; in fact, Republicans lost the Senate under Hayes. Adams did even worse. Moreover, for each man it was the only off term election that he had. That tells you something about the continuing consequences of a disputed election.

HA HA! I'm BACK! So, how are you all? Missing me yet? Well, I have lots and lots of fond memories of my beloved Lyndon, how I miss it so! My favourite would be sitting at the bottom of the staff room stairs when I fractured my knee and making sure that everyone was happy and ready to work! The only person who actually appreciated it was Mr Brian Ash, YOU'RE A DUDE! Anyway, I shall be back to see you soon, I doubt I'll be at the reunion as it's my 19th birthday! WOO-HOO!!! Anyway, love ya and leave ya! Miss you all! Luv Lots, Daiz XxX ;-)

I attended Lyndon school between 1993 and 1998 and am wondering what has happened to all the other people from my year.

I left in 1998 after severely annoying Mr Hickinbottom at Lyndon and then terrorising the technicians at my college, I've decided to do what I do best... go back and terrorise Mr Hickinbottom! I work at Lyndon now, I'm the network manager and Webmaster - not much has changed, apart from I am sitting twenty feet above what used to be the swimming pool (is now a computer suite and library) and there are computers everywhere. There are loads of pictures on the school website if anyone wants to go and have a look to see what's going on at the moment!
