A little history of Turner Cemetery:
It is believed that the first internment at Turner Cemetery was George Washington Turner who died 30 Dec 1860 at the age of 45 years. A flat white stone marks the grave near the SW corner of the farm where lived Section 27 Crawford Township, Buchanan County, MO. For a time the cemetery was used by the family and others also as a public burying ground.
On March 8, 1879 a daughter, Sarah Jane Turner, made a deed of trust for 15 rods square. The trustees named were Alvis Turner, Jarrod Boyd and Allen Russell. The property was to used as a cemetery and to be called the Turner Cemetery. If a trustee resigns or dies the remaining trustees select and elect one to replace that one.
Some time in the 1940's it was plotted, a map drawn and grave lots numbered and lot markers of concrete were installed Helpful information for data below: You should find this information in standard genealogy format. If spouse is known, spouses name will appear in parenthesis. D/o means daughter of and s/o means son of. Any underlining means entry was not readable. Information below is what appears on the headstone of those buried in Turner cemetery:

They served with the New South Wales Army Medical Corps units, in British hospitals - Field, Stationary and Base - or on hospital ships and trains. Initially they experienced some resistance from the regular British Army Nursing Service and local nurses, but performed well in scattered groups or singly from Cape Town and Durban to Rhodesia. They nursed the wounded but found a higher proportion of cases suffered from diseases such as enteric fever (typhoid).
