Allergies A Positive Immune Response
Whether considering the treatment of allergies by allopathic, nutritional or homeopathic methods, allergies are basically considered as being a deficiency in the immune response, producing a sensitivity in a particular individual to a chemical or odor. However, this concept may be incorrect! Allergy and immunity are related in that acquired immunity is regarded as being a special type of allergic hypersensitiveness. In other words, immunity against infectious agents is not a state of insensitivity, but rather a state of hypersensitiveness to constituents, as well as the metabolic products of bacteria in the body. If this is so, then allergy constitutes a positive response of the immune system rather than a weakness. The allopathic treatment of allergies is generally that of suppression, using antihistamines to reduce the reactive process of the immune system. The reactive process is the attempt by the immune system to protect the body from the hypersensitive assault. Allergy, or excessive sensitivity, should be regarded as the cornerstone of homeopathic treatment. This may be recognized through the "provings" of homeopathy.

Jesse Douglas developed a love of geometry studying Plateau Problems . He studied differential geometry He gave a complete solution to the Plateau problem which was first posed by Lagrange in 1760. It was studied by Riemann Weierstrass and Schwarz . The problem is proving the existence of a surface of minimal area bounded by a contour. Before Douglas's solution only special cases had been solved. Then he went on to study generalisations of the problem. In 1943 Douglas was awarded the Prize by the American Mathematical Society for his memoirs on the Plateau Problem. In particular the award was for three papers all published in 1939: Green's function and the problem of Plateau published in the American Journal of Mathematics, The most general form of the problem of Plateau published in the American Journal of Mathematics and Solution of the inverse problem of the calculus of variations published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Homeopathy and Ionization the Winning Combination Part II
Ionic Analysis
The concept of ionization basically involves the study of the function of the hydrogen ion in the human body. It is measured by the pH. Dr. Reams researched and developed this system of measurement in equation form. This equation is a mathematical formula based on logarithm, and is a measure of the digestive tract. Having established an equation which is representative of the perfect functioning of the overall metabolism, a comparison is made with the perfect equation and the patient's health equation. From this we are able to determine the energy deficiency within the body, but more importantly, we can pinpoint the specific area in which this occurs. The equation seeks to maintain a balance between the cations, or positive ions, and the anions, or negative ions. Movement in either direction from perfect balance indicates energy loss with subsequent deficient health patterns. The ionic balance is assessed by measuring the spillage of waste products into the urine as well as determining the pH value of both the urine and saliva.

These guys really rocked, it was the first time i've seen or heard Jesse James, and i was completely won over with in seconds. They play what they describe as Soul Punk and i probably feel that, this is the best description, this to me is certainly original and the only other band i can think of, that are anything like them is Goldblade, but these guys are so much better than them. The lead singer is Donagh ex Speed Urchin and it can safely be said that this is a real step forward from what he was doing before, and definately a good move as i found Speed Urchin to be dull at times and they definately weren't as good the second time around.
There are six member of Jesse James Bass, Guitar, Drums and a horn section (don't think ska, as all six of them would probably come round and batter you.). The songs are real tight and played really well, but the thing that really stands out is the fact that Donagh and Rich (Guitar) can really sing well for this style of music (ie. with a slight gravelly voice) and share lead vocals but it doesn't stop there all the other 4 add back up to them so your confronted with a bombardment of sound that really does go down well live. If you get the chance to see these guys go , you will not be disappointed.

    Jesse James Cotter-Confederate Veteran
    By Betty Thomason
"Jesse James CotterConfederate Veteran" won Honorable Mention in AWG Spring 1999 Contest. It was Published in Confederate Veteran Magazine Vol. 4 1999, and is reprinted by permission. From April 20, 1862 to December 15,1864, Private Jesse James Cotter (or J. J.) served in the army of the Confederate States of America in the war for southern independence. During his service, in the Confederate Army, Jesse saw action in at least seventeen battles. Cotter was captured twice and possible three times by the Union Army, once at Vicksburg, Mississippi and another time at Nashville, Tennessee. Battles Jesse fought in Mississippi included Port Gibson, Champion Hill, Baker's Creek, and Edwards Depot (around Vicksburg). In Georgia-Cassville, Dallas, New Hope Church, Allatoona, Pine Hill, Lost Mountain, Noye's Creek, Kennesaw Mountain, and Lovejoy Station (during General Sherman's march through Georgia). In Tennessee-Franklin and Nashville, (where Cotter was captured.) After surviving all these battles and captures, it was ironic that Jesse James Cotter was labeled a deserter and denied a Confederate Veteran's pension in Texas. Jesse James Cotter's early family history has not been found, except that he was born on December 28, 1832. According to the 1860 census, Jesse's parents were listed as being born in Tennessee. A search to find the names of Jesse's parents and exactly where they and Jesse were born in Tennessee has not been successful.

    Fields Medal
    Historical Introduction
This is the original letter by Fields creating the endowment for the medals that bear his name. It is thought to have been written during the few months before his death. Notice that no mention is made about the age of the recipients (currently there is a 40 year-old limit), and that the medal should not be attached to any person, private or public, meaning that it shouldn't bear anybody's name. It is proposed to found two gold medals to be awarded at successive International Mathematical Congress for outstanding achievements in mathematics. Because of the multiplicity of the branches of mathematics and taking into account the fact that the interval between such congresses is four years it is felt that at least two medals should be available. The awards would be open to the whole world and would be made by an International Committee. The fund for the founding of the medals is constituted by balance left over after financing the Toronto congress held in 1924. This must be held in trust by the Government or by some body authorized by government to hold and invest such funds. It would seem that a dignified method for handling the matter and one which in this changing world should most nearly secure permanency would be for the Canadian Government to take over the fund and appoint as his custodian say the Prime Minister of the Dominion or the Prime Minister in association with the Minister of Finance. The medals would be struck at the Mint in Ottawa and the duty of the custodian would be simply to hand over the medals at the proper time to the accredited International Committee.

(1985) University of California, Berkeley Ph.D. (1992) University of Minnesota Bio Statement: Teaching Excellence Award, 1997 Complexities of modern business require managers to make important decisions everyday, and to face the challenge of considering a number of alternatives and evaluating consequences. “A lot of decisions in the business world have an ethical component, particularly when there are conflicts between the goals of the individual and the company,” says Associate Professor Doug Schuler, who teaches business ethics. “There are times when a manager has to make a decision among different alternatives—all with bad consequences. How do you make decisions in such an ambiguous world?” Students in Schuler’s ethics class answer that question for themselves everyday. By examining cases, evaluating various options, and defending their decisions, business students are challenged to transcend ambiguity and learn how to systematically make decisions, even in tough circumstances. “Key to decision-making is consistency, and that makes all the difference in defending any decision,” says Schuler.
