Bell Numbers The Bell numbers (1, 1, 2, 5, 15, 52, 203, 877, 4140, 21147, 115975, 678570, 4213597, ...) describe the number of ways a set with n elements can be partitioned into disjoint, non-empty subsets. The n th Bell number can be computed using the formula where represents the Stirling numbers of the second kind The Bell numbers are also the coefficients of the Maclauren expansion of The Bell numbers can be shown using a Bell Triangle. Start with a row with the number one, each new row begins with the last number of the previous row and continues to the right adding each number to the number above it to get the next number in the row.
