Renshi Gregg Berlie, 4th Dan and Renshi Jeff Burnett, 4th Dan have trained at the school since its beginning. Pendleton School of Karate emphasizes philosophy as well as a rounded knowledge of Karate. The style of Karate taught is Shudokan. Shudokan is a Japanese/Okinawan style or hard style of Karate. Shihan Andy Rodda came to Pendleton in the fall of 1985 from Yakima, Washington. He started DoShinKan Karate under the direction of Shihan Morris Mack in 1978. In 1987, the American Shudokan Association was formed by Shihan Walter Todd and Shihan Morris Mack. DoShinKan Karate is a direct off-shoot of Shudokan Karate-Do.
