discoveryhealth.com, Making Your dreams Come True By Vince Rause Havingslept off the effects of my long, lessthan-restful night
http://health.discovery.com/centers/sleepdreams/expedition/dispatch-07.html
Making Your Dreams Come True By Vince Rause Having slept off the effects of my long, less-than-restful night at the Stanford Sleep Center, I'm bidding adieu for a while to the world of standard sleep medicine and traveling out onto the emerging frontiers of sleep research, where some fascinating things are going on. A Lucid Dream
The second thing is I just had one of my own. It happened last Tuesday. I woke in my hotel room late at night and rose to visit the john. When I reached for the light switch, it wasn't there. I groped along the wall, searched behind the towel rack, reached behind the door ... My fingers slid across the cool wall tiles and the bumpy grout lines in between. I felt the nubby terrycloth towels as I pushed them aside. I checked behind the curtain and heard rain spattering outside the louvered window. But the wall switch was nowhere to be found. Puzzled, I wondered if I was dreaming. I'd been working on lucid dream techniques for weeks now, following instructions sent to me by LaBerge, and I knew that the first difficult step toward lucidity was to recognize a dream while you're in one. But I shrugged off the notion that the disappearing light switch was a tip-off. I was too clear- headed; the room around me was too tangible and real. Look, there's my razor, my toothbrush, my Tums. A Mental Construct
I told LaBerge about the dream the moment we met at his research facility, the Lucidity Institute, in Palo Alto. He wasn't surprised. "Reality is not out there, it's in here," he said, as he gently tapped his head. "Even when you're awake, what you think of as

The great Zen master Chuang Tzu dreamt that he was a butterfly. When he awoke, he asked himself, "Am I a man who just dreamt about being a butterfly, or am I a butterfly who now dreams about being a man?"
You sit almost motionless, relaxed, your eyes focused on a glowing screen - the only source of light in an otherwise dark room. Your fingers tap lightly as your mind converges on the words and images that float before you. At times it seems like there is no difference between your thoughts and those images. At times it seems the distinction between inner and outer worlds almost disappears. At times, time itself evaporates. You are a computer user immersed in cyberspace. All melts into a new reality that transcends the rules of conventional reality. Like a Zen master in meditation, you have become one with with the virtual universe.

PROGRAMMED DREAMS
by Clancy D. McKenzie, M.D.
Capital University, Washington, D.C.
PROGRAMMED DREAMS offer a breakthrough in medical and psychiatric diagnosis and treatment. You may have heard about problems being solved or discoveries being made during sleep or during the dream-state. These mostly are sporadic events, in which people just happen to awaken with a bright idea. The programmed dream is different. It gives us the ability to awaken with that bright idea or solution to a problem, any night, at will. Today I am going to teach a few techniques for receiving information during sleep. I am going to teach how to direct the mind to retrieve answers to questions you formulate the night before. There are two techniques I use: the first is that I decide to have a dream about a problem, and I decide that the interpretation of the dream will tell me the answer. I further decide that I will awaken at the very end of the dream, remember it and write it down. The second technique is to decide my mind will work on a particular problem, throughout all the altered states of consciousness during sleep, and that when I awaken, the first thing that will occur to me is the answer.

    September 20, 2002. America Betrayed:
(University Press, California, $18.95, ISBN: 0971644551 publication date: 11/15/2002) By R. Joseph, Ph.D. Before America became a nation, the regional powers which governed what would become the United States, used biological and germ warfare to murder and spread disease and epidemics among Native Americans. The first attacks were initiated by General Jeffrey Amherst, who also lent his name to what became the town and college of Amherst, Massachusetts. According to the book The Village of Amherst: A Landmark of Light, by Frank Prentice Rand, "Amherst" was "the most glamorous military hero in the New World." However, as detailed in the Atlas of the North American Indian (by Carl Waldman), and the Conspiracy of Pontiac and the Indian War after the Conquest of Canada (by Francis Parkman) this glamorous military hero authorized the distribution of smallpox-infected blankets and handkerchiefs to be used as germ warfare against American Indians. "Could it not be contrived to send the Small Pox among those disaffected tribes of Indians? We must on this occasion use every stratagem in our power to reduce them." General Jeffrey Amherst
