Masa Tayama Masa Tayama studied at the Toho High School of Music and Toho University of Music Soloist Diploma Course, Tokyo, Japan. @He went to London in 1995 and gained the Performerfs Diploma eWith Honoursf from both the Royal College of Music and the Guildhall School of Music in London. @In 1998 he was awarded a Special Prize from the Beethoven Piano Society of Europe, in the London International Piano Competition. @The following year he won First Prize in the Brant International Piano Competition, Birmingham, and Third Prize in the Tel-Hai Piano Competition in Israel. @In November 2000, he performed the Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No.2 with the Kyushu Symphony Orchestra to win First Prize at the Takahiro Sonoda Award Piano Competition in Japan. @He was also the winner of the Grand Konzerteum 2000 International Piano Competition, in Greece the following month. @Masa Tayama has appeared in numerous recitals, chamber music and concerto performances in both Europe and Japan. @Lately, he has given a recital at the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra Hall in the U.K. | |
