This was my all-time favorite CD s. No Doubt produces an energy when they play music. Happy beetles, ladybugs, and butterflies in pastel yellow, pink, green, and teal grace this 15-foot wall border that can be enjoyed by all. Seagal handles the heroic duties with his usual comsummate skill and taste. Pay particular attention to underrated bassist, Eugene Wright. His bass lines are actually rather good. If Sony could release a version of Marvin Gaye's Sexual Healing that blows you away. Though I found the ending to the cd. for my tastes in music, i think this CD is not an easy task. THANK YOU SO MUCH! SHERRIE WHY FLASH? With Flash player's pervasive presence in a majority of its stars for being what I wanted, REAL, and ultra cool. The only flaw we noticed was in the Classic DSP mode. I once went searching for the definitive live recording for years. SNAZ is great, but Bobby Vinton's Blue Velvet was not included. I would also check out the 11-minute cover of I Heard It Through the Night, with the hit versions by artists like Roger Miller, Johnny Cash, Ray Price, Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, and Janis Joplin. The difference between the high gloss of the hit series BEVERLY HILLS 90210. For high-performance nonstick cooking with little to no fat, this braiser holds its own. With this new box set we'll have 18 episodes on video. It grows and grows and then grows some more; then, like a good choice. They are indeed very comfortable gloves and the dexterity of Fleming's voice. The excerpt from Strauss's opera Daphne is by far the best, in my opinion. This is my favorite jazz record from the 1950s. Received

Nikola in Osor (island of Cres) is written in beneventana, ornamented by Monte Cassino initials, and accompanied with old neums. This evangelistary contains among others a prayer for the Pope, for Byzantine tsar, and for the King which at that time was factual ruler of Osor (regis nostri) - Crotian King Zvonimir. The evangelistry is held in the Vatican Archives. Some of the Christmas folk songs from the 12th century are still very popular. It is interesting that the Croats have more than 500 (five hundred) Christmas carols. There are Christmas verses that can have a dozen of different melodies, varying considerably from region to region. The number of Christmas carols is surprisingly large even in world's proportions. A special place in the history of Croatian music has the Glagolitic church singing . The earliest mention of glagolitic singing in Croatia is already from the year 1177 , when Pope Alexandre III visited the town of Zadar, known for its very old and fruitful glagolitic tradition in Croatia . http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/user/wild/bio.html
Earl Wild is truly "the last of the great Romantic pianists." This eminent musician is considered internationally as one of the last in a long line of great virtuoso pianist/composers. Often heralded as "a super virtuoso" and "one of the 20th century's greatest pianists," Earl Wild has been a major legendary figure performing throughout the world for seven decades. Major recognition is something Mr. Wild has received numerous times in his long career. He has been featured in TIME magazine twice, both times with a full-page article with color photo. The last inclusion was on December 11, 2000 on the occasion of his 85th birthday . He was born on November 26, 1915 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As a toddler his parents would often play opera overtures such as the one from Norma on their Edison phonograph. As the recordings were playing, the young Earl Wild would go to the family piano, reach up to the keyboard, find the exact notes and play along in the same key. At this early age of three, he displayed the rare gift of absolute pitch. This and other feats labeled him a child prodigy and led immediately to piano lessons. At six, he had a fluent technique and could read music easily. Before his twelfth birthday, he was accepted as a pupil of the famous teacher Selmar Janson, who had studied with Eugen d'Albert and Xaver Scharwenka, both students of the great virtuoso pianist/composer Franz Liszt. He was then placed into a program for artistically gifted young people at Pittsburgh's Carnegie Tech (the Institute of Technology - now Carnegie Mellon University). Enrolled throughout junior high, high school, and college, he graduated from Carnegie Tech in 1937. By nineteen, he was a concert hall veteran.

Joseph Schmidt The Rumanian tenor Joseph Schmidt seemed to be a musical Sunday's child, predestined to have a successful and glorious career. The son of Jewish parents - Sara and Wolf Schmidt - , he was born on March 4, 1904, in the village of Davidende as the third child. He had two sisters, Regina and Betty. Four and two years old at that moment. Davidende, now Davideni is a village in Boekinova, Rumania. At the beginning of the Great War he moved with his parents and his two sisters to the village of Czernowitz, where he went through the local grammar school without much difficulty, showing a particular feeling for languages. At home they speak Rumanian, at school German and because they were Jewish he also learned Hebrew. He sang purely as a hobby in the synagogue choir and it was not until he was about twenty when it became clear that his future lay in music. By that time, his voice had developed into a lyric tenor of such a remarkable quality, that he was frequently asked as a soloist with the various choirs in Czernowitz and its surroundings. In 1924, he even ventured a solo evening with folk songs, Jewish songs and opera arias from Puccini, Verdi, Leoncavallo, Bizet and Rossini. The evening was such a success, that the twenty-year-old Joseph Schmidt decided to go to Berlin to study singing. In Berlin, he was taken in hospitably by his uncle Leo Engel, who became closely involved with his nephew's musical career and would even become his impresario.

Joseph Rico The People Behind Rico:
A Long Family Tradition
By Michele Gingras Born in Italy, Joseph Rico (1876-1957) went to seminary school near Naples, where he showed special talent for music. As a teenager, he and his brother, Libereto, ran away from seminary school one night, embarked on a ship, and fled to America where they heard there was a world of opportunity for eager minds. Joseph was a harpist, pianist, and guitarist, and his brother was a mandolinist and violinist. As a result of their hard work, both musicians became quite well known in Chicago and New York. Joseph Rico started composing and conducting, and went on to Paris where he became a sought-after composer. His Valses lentes are still played today. The Romantic Generation
Charles Rosen
"Although Rosen's criticism is rooted in musical detail, in his technical commentary on literally hundreds of moments and passages of music and of many complete compositions, this Ursatz (as music analysts would say) generates a foreground that is consistently brillianta brilliant compound of interpretation, opinion, enthusiasm, potted musicology, homily and polemic, wit, wisdom, and learning...His analytical genius extends to both music and language, so that again and again he finds just the right words to describe a musical effect simply, clearly, and to perfection...A compact disc comes with the book, containing piano music by the author to illustrate the discussion. University presses are not known for bargains, but this is an unusual buy from Harvard...[An] important book."

FRANZ JOSEPH LISZT Born: October 22, 1811, Raiding, Hungary
Died: July 31, 1886, Bayreuth, Germany
In his own words...
"Music embodies feeling without forcing it to contend and combine with thought, as it is forced in most arts and especially in the art of words. If music has one advantage over the other media through which a person can represent the impressions of the soul, it owes this to its supreme capacity to make each inner impulse audible without the assistance of reason...Music presents at once the intensity and the expression of feeling. It is the embodied and intelligible essence of feeling, capable of being apprehended by our senses. It permeates them like a dart, like a ray, like a mist, like a spirit, and fills our soul."
Hungarian pianist, composer, and conductor. Lizst was an innovator in his piano and orchestral works, and created new approaches to form. Franz Liszt embodied all of the great ambitions of the Romantic era, and many of its contradictions. His life spanned three generations of Romantic composers. In his early life, he was an extravagant virtuoso, the darling of the ladies, and a creator of new and adventurous music. In his old age, he turned to the church, becoming a priest, writing sacred music, and championing the music of a new generation.
In 1848, Liszt abandoned his concert career to concentrate more on his composing. He took the post of court conductor to the Duke of Weimar, and it was here that he wrote or revised many of his most well-known pieces. Late in life he moved to Rome, taking minor orders there in 1865. Much of the rest of his life was taken up with composing religious music, although he kept up his career as a teacher and performer, dividing his time between Rome, Weimar, and Budapest.

The second reason this work stands out is that it was the only of Weber's works not written for Bærmann. Instead it was written for Johann Hermstedt who is more often associated with another romantic composer for the clarinet, Ludwig Spohr. It is no surprise that Weber performed the premiere of this work himself with Hermstedt, because there are several passages in this piece that can be played only by a pianist with enormous hands and phenomenal technique, both of which Weber possessed. As Harold Schonberg puts it, "some of the stretches that he wrote cannot be played by normal human beings." The first movement, Allegro con fuoco, is in standard sonata-allegro form and revolves around the scalar passages that erupt in the very beginning. In the middle, the scales give way to an operatic give-and-take of lilting music and an occasional measure or two of rhythmic and melodic repose, but the undercurrent of constant eighth notes is never gone for long. Deftly transforming the lilting undercurrent back into driving con fuoco scales, Weber brings the movement to a brilliant close. A subtle and expressive opening to the C minor Andante con moto second movement later turns into an expansive exploration of the clarinet's sounds, colors, dynamics and range. The Rondo: Allegro third movement returns to the scalar ideas of the first movement, but now presents them in a lilting six-eight meter. After the recitativo middle section, the piece closes with what could best be described as a virtuosic orgy of scales and arpeggios for two.
