(1835-1907) was born in Val di Castello, a small town near Pisa. He was early attracted to the Greek and Roman authors; in addition, he conscientiously studied the Italian classics: Dante, Tasso, and Alfieri. At the age of twenty he graduated with a degree in philosophy and letters from the University of Pisa . After several difficult years in which he taught in various high schools, he was appointed to the chair of Italian Literature at the University of Bologna , a post that he held until his retirement in 1904.
Inspired both by his own time as well as by his study of the classical and Italian poets, Carducci began writing poetry when he was a child. The first two collections of his poetry were Rime Rhymes ] and Levia Gravia Light and Heavy ]. Both reveal his enthusiasm for and imitation of the ancients as well as a strong revolutionary tendency. Inno a Satana Hymn to Satan Giambi ed epodi Iambics and Epodes ], a collection of satiric poems of a political nature, expresses Carducci's indignation with his compatriots. In the

Giosue Carducci
Today's world suffers from the lack of informations about Satanism.
Many young Satanists today probably have a feeling that organized Satanism began with Dr. LaVey.
How many people today are aware that one Satanist won Nobel Prize ?
How many Satanists know of the Satanic procession through Rome and Vatican in 1889 ?
Satanic history did not start in 20 th century, nor was that implied in any literature to date.
The purpose of these pages is to preserve from oblivion great Satanists of the past, thus making the knowledge of the Satanic history of those interested in it more complete.
This page, is dedicated to Giosue Carducci (27 July 1835 Valdicastello, Toscany - 16 February 1907 Bologna), winner of the Nobel prize for Literature in 1906.
Author of the "Hymn to Satan".
Some will haste to say that in that poem he just used Satan as a symbol of free spirit.
Why not ? That is what lots of Satanists today regard Satan to be. It is no secret that large amount of Satanists today doesn't really believe that Satan exists as a being, but considers Him to be a symbol of free spirit. If you do not consider Carducci to be a Satanist, how would you call a man who wrote these verses:

Giosuè Carducci
Letteratura (1906)

In 1890 Giosue` Carducci (1835-1907) published this edition of his poem, " Piemonte ." He signed it and inscribed it to one of his disciples, Guido Mazzoni. The portrait of the great poet on the cover of another publication (a poem dedicated to him) gives some idea of his impressive physical features. Carducci's literary and political successes mounted steadily through the 19th and early 20th centuries. He became Italy's poet laureate by orders of the King and Queen of Italy. In 1890 he was elected to the Senate, and in 1906 won the Nobel Prize for literature. Guido Mazzoni's own life was inextricably linked with that of his mentor, as one can see from the enormous volume of material in the Mazzoni Pamphlets related to Carducci's life, writings, and death.
