Sex. Love. Relationships. For the co-host of MTV's Loveline, no topic is too hot.
r. Drew Pinsky is troubled. He sees a generation of young adults unable to establish intimacy. He hears from teenagers who, more than ever, see sex as something to "get" rather than something to share. When it comes to love and lovemaking, says Pinsky, 40, "the wheels are coming off the wagon in our country, and nobody's talking about it." Actually

Dr. Drew, I disagree with you
I did a search for piercing on the drdrew.com Web site, and found the following replies to questions about piercing. To say the least, I disagree with most of what he has to say about piercing, so I've prepared a response to each of his offending statements. Clicking on the question will open the original page on drdrew.com with his reply intact. To show you that I'm not an ass, I'll even let you know when I agree with him. So here goes ...
Should I get my clitoris pierced?
Dr. Drew: "There's not much information out there about these sorts of piercings because it's not something people talk about very often." Incorrect. We live in the age of the Web, remember? You can find lots of people willing to talk about their genital piercings with enlightened opinions and solid information. Here are a few resources that come to mind: I would definitely say that after viewing the stories and opinions of over 1300 people, you could come to some intelligent decision about genital piercings. This only represents one site, so with all the other bodyart e-zines, personal pages and piercing shops online, you could find a wealth of information from the comfort of your home. Did I mention that most qualified professional piercers would be happy to talk to you about ... of all topics ... getting a piercing?

I have also taught online in the Graduate Diploma in Business Administration program. http://antipolygraph.org/articles/article-028.shtml
AntiPolygraph.org Home Page Reading Room The following is a statement on the evidentiary value of polygraphy made available by retired FBI supervisory special agent Dr. Drew C. Richardson. It was recently (Jan. 2003) used by a defendant in an administrative hearing to successfully discredit (along with other non-polygraph evidence) polygraph exam results obtained/performed by a well-known polygrapher (a former head of a federal agency polygraph unit). Dr. Richardson will make a signed copy of this statement available at no charge to anyone who might care to discredit similar polygraph examinations. Anyone who would like to receive a copy of this statement, or who may additionally desire Dr. Richardson to elaborate through expert testimony on the contents of this document, may contact him through AntiPolygraph.org to make arrangements. [DATE] [ADDRESS] Mr. My name is Dr. Drew C. Richardson. The following is a written statement that I have prepared in connection with an administrative matter involving Mr. . That which follows is my evaluation and opinion of probable-lie control question test (CQT) polygraphy, a group of polygraph exam formats widely known by the general public as the so-called "lie detector" test and which are commonly used as such in this country and around the world. I believe the aforementioned methodology has little to no value as a diagnostic instrument for determining truth and falsehood related to matters under investigation. I believe this to be the case for a variety of reasons to be subsequently discussed. Recent surveys of the members of the Society for Psychophysiological Research and the Fellows of the American Psychological Association's Division I (General Psychology) would indicate that my previously stated general opinion regarding CQT polygraph testing is shared by a large majority of scientists with relevant scientific backgrounds.

"At a time when nearly half of all new HIV infections occur in those under the age of 25, American young people need to protect themselves from unintended pregnancies and disease. They deserve accurate and realistic information about sex through comprehensive sexuality education and Congress has a responsibility to give it to them," says Dr. Pinsky. http://gateway.drew.buffalo.k12.ny.us/drew/more_html/school.Info/About.Drew.html
Dr. Charles Richard Drew
by Jacob Stumpf The Dr. Charles R. Drew Science Magnet is named after a brilliant man. Charles Richard Drew was born on June 3, 1904 in Washington D.C. He attended the Stevens Elementary School. When he graduated from there he entered Paul Laurence Dunbar High. There he became the best all-around athlete. At age 15 he first imagined becoming a doctor after he watched his sister die of tuberculosis. He graduated from High school and was awarded a partial scholarship to Amherst College in Massachusetts. At Amherst College, Charles was almost totally surrounded by whites. He still excelled in sports but started to again turn his attention to medicine after a tackler left a metal cleat in his thigh. He was still voted the football captain, but only with much fighting from other students. His grades were averaging to about B's and C's in everything but biology. He applied to Howard University but was turned down. He told his brother Joe "Someday I'll come back and run this place." Weeks later he was accepted to McGill University in Montreal Canada. Charles excelled at McGill, but still made time for sports. He thought that Canadians were color-blind because there was no segregation in Canada. He lived on $10 dollars a week. In the fall of 1930, Charles won a Rosenwald Scholarship, a prestigious award for the education of black students. Charles impressed his anatomy instructor, Dr. John Beattie. Beattie facinated Charles with his work with blood. Before long Charles was reading everything he could on blood. Charles and Beattie became friends and began to do experiments together.

Zoom Inventors and Inventions A B C D ... USA/Canada Dr. Charles Richard Drew: American Inventor
Dr. Charles Richard Drew (June 3, 1904 - April 1, 1950) was an American medical doctor and surgeon who started the idea of a blood bank and a system for the long-term preservation of blood plasma (he found that plasma kept longer than whole blood). His ideas revolutionized the medical profession and have saved many, many lives. Dr. Drew set up and operated the blood plasma bank at the Presbyterian Hospital in New York City, NY. Drew's project was the model for the Red Cross' system of blood banks, of which he became the first director. Drew resigned his position as director after the US War Department issued a directive stating that blood taken from white donors should not be mixed with blood taken from black donors. Dr. Drew strongly objected, and stated "the blood of individual human beings may differ by blood groupings, but there is absolutely no scientific basis to indicate any difference in human blood from race to race." Dr. Drew also formed Britain's blood bank system. Dr. Drew died on April 1, 1950, after a car accident in in rural North Carolina. Although there is a legend that he died as a result of being denied a blood transfusion and medical care from a "whites-only" hospital, Dr. Drew got immediate medical attention, in part from the other doctors (his friends) who were in the car accident with him (but were less severely injured). Dr. Drew was admitted to a mixed-race hospital, but died after being treated for massive internal injuries. A U.S. postage stamp was issued in 1981 to honor Dr. Drew.

CHARLES DREW
Charles Drew was born June 3, 1904, to Richard and Nora Drew, the oldest of five children. He attended Dunbar High School in Washington, D.C. becoming best known as an athlete. He received the James E. Walker Memorial Medal for all-around athletic performance. At Amherst College, he was a star quarterback, the most valuable baseball player, captain of the track team, and national high hurdles champion. He received the Howard Hill Mossman Trophy as the man who had contributed the most to athletics durng his four years at Amherst. For two years after college, Charles took a job as athletic director, football coach, and science instructor at Morgan State College in Baltimore. In 1928, he entered medical school at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Charles Drew continued to excell in sports at McGill, just as he had at Amherst. Drew joined Dr. John Beattie, a British professor, in doing blood research. He found it fascinating and decided to give further attention to it. During his two years at Montreal General Hospital, as an intern and resident doctor, he continued his research on blood. Drew received a fellowship for specialized advanced training from Howard University's Medical School, making it possible for him to study at Columbia University Medical School. Drew's assignment was to learn all he could about collecting and storing blood until it was needed for transfusions. He experimented with blood plasma and discovered that it could be used instead of whole blood. It lasted longer and was less likely to become contaminated. Dr. Drew published his findings in an article called "Banked Blood," since the process of collecting and storing blood was called "banking" it.

When we last saw writer/director/actor Kevin Smith, he was weathering the hail of outrage and controversy that narrow-minded religious loudmouths were slinging at his rather devout-if irreverent-satire, Dogma . With that behind him (although a special edition DVD is in the works), Smith is concentrating on the premiere of his new animated series, Clerks , based on his cult directorial debut. He recently followed his successful run penning Daredevil by handing in his script for a new Green Arrow comic, and is in the early writing stages of what he says will be the final movie to feature Silent Bob and Jay, the recurring characters who have popped up in all his films to date. Of course, he put that all aside to spend five minutes with us. drDrew.com: Name a guilty pleasure.

Dr. Drew Leder has blended an unusual array of interests and accomplishments. He has an M.D. from Yale University School of Medicine, and a Ph.D. in philosophy from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He is currently a full professor of Western and Eastern Philosophy at Loyola College in Maryland. Dr. Leder is the author of several books. He continues to offer lectures and workshops on spirituality and aging, and acts as a consultant to educational and residential communities with this interest. His earlier, more academic writing, focused on bodily experience in health and illness.
