45. O Brother, What A Big Break
Review of Tim blake Nelson´s performance in Oh Brother, Where Art Thou , by william Russell.

O brother, what a big break
WILLIAM RUSSELL
T HE Coen Brothers have a new star. Their latest film, O Brother Where Art Thou ?, features the old familiar Coen faces - John Turturro, John Goodman, and Holly Hunter among them - and stars George Clooney as the chief of three convicts on the run. But the man who steals the show is the relatively unknown Tim Blake Nelson who, along with Turturro and Clooney, makes the dash from prison chained together. A small, dapper, quietly-spoken man slightly taken aback by the publicity whirl he is engaged in, Blake Nelson looks a bit like Stan Laurel. A Broadway actor, dramatist as well as a film director in his own right, he got to know the Coens through Joel's wife, the actress Frances McDormand, who belongs, as he does, to a volunteer charity, the New York 52nd Street Project. The Coens gave him "notes" on the film he was making at the time, Eye of God , which led to knowing Joel socially and to his role in the brothers' latest film. "I was in Chesterton, South Carolina, working on Eye of God when Joel left a message on my telephone saying he had something to send me," he says. "It was the script

Add to a Notebook William Blake In 1772 he married an illiterate woman named Catherine Boucher. Blake taught her to read and to write, and also instructed her in draftsmanship. Later, she helped him print the illuminated poetry for which he is remembered today; the couple had no children. In 1784 he set up a printshop with a friend and former fellow apprentice, James Parker, but this venture failed after several years. For the remainder of his life, Blake made a meager living as an engraver and illustrator for books and magazines. In addition to his wife, Blake also began training his younger brother Robert in drawing, painting, and engraving. Robert fell ill during the winter of 1787 and succumbed, probably to consumption. As Robert died, Blake saw his brother's spirit rise up through the ceiling, "clapping its hands for joy." He believed that Robert's spirit continued to visit him and later claimed that in a dream Robert taught him the printing method that he used in Songs of Innocence and other "illuminated" works.

Esoteric Astrology The Astrology of the Soul
Articles and Publications by Adele Barger Wilson December 7, 2002

Ever wonder what your spiritual purpose is, what your soul has in mind for you? As our personalities evolve, we grow beyond our Sun signs and into our RISING SIGNS. Just in case you don't know what a rising sign is, it is the sign of the zodiac that was rising on the eastern horizon at the moment you were born. Sometimes called the ASCENDING SIGN or the ASCENDANT , it sets the keynote for your soul's purpose. EXOTERIC ASTROLOGY is the astrology of the personality, while ESOTERIC ASTROLOGY is the astrology of the soul. Esoteric astrology concerns itself not only with the soul's purpose, but also with the process by which the personality becomes the soul's instrument. According to the Tibetan Master Djwhal Khul in Alice Bailey's Esoteric Astrology , this astrology of the soul will eventually supersede present-day astrology. An Esoteric Journey Through the Zodiac presents the meanings of the zodiacal signs from the perspective of the soul's evolutionary path. Spiritual Initiations, paths of evolution, and planes of manifestation are discussed, followed by elaborations on the spiritual significance of each sign. Discover your spiritual journey, your challenges, your fulfillment - your soul's underlying motivations - by reading about your rising sign in this book.

55. An Introduction To William Blake By Alfred Kazin
Discusses blake's work and life, partially by comparing blake to Beethoven.
http://multimedialibrary.com/Articles/Kazin/alfredblake.html
AN INTRODUCTION TO WILLIAM BLAKE
by Alfred Kazin
The real man, the imagination. I n 1827 there died, undoubtedly unknown to each other, two plebeian Europeans of supreme originality: Ludwig van Beethoven and William Blake. Had they known of each other, they could still not have known how much of the future they contained and how alike they were in the quality of their personal force, their defiance of the age, and the fierce demands each had made on the human imagination. It is part of the story of Blake's isolation from the European culture of his time that he could have known of Beethoven, who enjoyed a reputation in the London of the early 1800's. The Ninth Symphony was in fact commissioned by the London Philharmonic, who made Beethoven's last days a little easier. The artistic society of the day was appreciative of Beethoven. It ignored the laborious little engraver, shut off by his work and reputed madness, who was known mainly to a few painters, and held by most of them to be a charming crank. Beethoven's isolation was different. He was separated from society by his deafness, his pride, his awkward relations with women, relatives, patrons, inadequate musicians. He was isolated, as all original minds are, by the need to develop absolutely in his own way. The isolation was made tragic, against his will, by his deafness and social pride. At the same time he was one of the famous virtuosos of Europe, the heir of Mozart and the pupil of Haydn, and the occasional grumpy favorite of the musical princes of Vienna. His isolation was an involuntary personal tragedy, as it was by necessity a social fact. He did not resign himself to it, and only with the greatest courage learned to submit to it. If he was solitary, it was in a great tradition. As he was influenced by his predecessors, so he became the fountainhead of the principal musical thought that came after him.

William Blake (British, 1757-1827) Browse Paintings List Available Paintings View Available Prints Biography
English painter, engraver and poet, born in London. From the age of seven he habitually saw a white-bearded God peering in through his window, or angels perching in trees. An admirer of D¼rer, Michelangelo and Raphael and a friend of Fuseli , Blake was extremely eccentric. He walked the streets in a Phrygian bonnet. His work, still obscure, suggests a new version of Christianity, whose radicalism lies in its visual Symbolism. A precursor of the Pre-Raphaelites and Symbolists.
60. Englische Lyrik I
Gedichte von william blake in deutscher œbersetzung von Eric Boerner.
http://home.germany.net/100-163279/illeguan/english1.htm
Die kranke Rose Der verborgene Wurm,
Im heulenden Sturm,
Zum freudigen Bett,
Wo verheimlichte Liebe
Dein Leben zersetzt.
Eine Blume ward mir offeriert,
Solch Blume, wie niemals im Mai;
Zum Rosenstrauch ging ich des Wegs,
Meine Rose zu hegen bei Tag und bei Nacht;
Und mit Dornen nur ward ich bedacht.
Ein Traum
In Visionen dunkler Nacht
Kann mich jetzt genau entsinnen, im Dezember war's, dem grimmen, Bang ersehnte ich den Morgen, sinnlos suchte ich zu borgen Hier erschallt ihr Nam' nicht mehr. Und mich schreckten der Gardinen pupurn eingewebte Mienen, Die im Seidenhauch erschienen grimmiger als je vorher;
