ADHD Project reaching all elementary schools! As the Research Study expands it's reach, so does the ADHD Project. All elementary schools are now involved in the ADHD Project's efforts and services for the 1999-2000 School Year. With this expansion, we continue to offer training, consultation, and direct services to educators, children, and parents. In addition to the ADHD Clinic services we now have the expertise of a psychologist that is providing services specifically for the ADHD Project. Martha Chenier, Psychologist, is providing consultations, follow-up services, testing, and skills groups. A pilot social skills group is now in process, using the Skillstreaming Program. A review of this program will be offered to the Advisory Committee in January, 1999 and formal training will be offered through a workshop at the first of the year. Referral Process The ADHD Project will now go through the Assistance Team process for referrals. Each school will take an active role in referring students from their school. This will involve not only school personnel, but parents and other community professionals such as family doctors. This approach should provide better and prompter services and more complete assessment information.
