How To Think Creatively
The New Book by Conni Gordon and Richard Israel
Using the "TILS" Technique
"[Conni Gordon has] written a book called How to Think Creatively ... to teach people to ... develop whole brain synchronicity. This is the process of taking "left brain" logic, with "right brain" imagination and equaling whole brain creativity.... I would strongly recommend you get [this book] to develop your creative genius. It is filled with exercises on [creative expression] and TILS charts that will open up the traffic between the two hemispheres of your brain." Randy Gage WHO? Conni Gordon originated both the patented 4-Step Art Method and TILS Technique. WHAT? "TILS" is an acronym for a creative step-by-step way to think:
T HINK-it
I NK-it
L INK-it S YNC-it WHERE? Use the TILS charts (provided in the book) to prepare and create action plans to solve business problems or resolve personal situations. WHEN?

  • Higher Education ... BECOME A PARTNER PROMOTING TECHNOLOGY: 13 WAYS TO DO IT by Karen Robertson
Here are some great ideas to turn educators, students and community members into technology users and supporters. These are methods I've successfully used to promote technology. HOLD EXECUTIVE BRIEFINGS
Show board members, community leaders, teachers, facility planners, finance directors, and the superintendent the latest technology. Ask hardware vendors to send representatives to demonstrate their latest products. COORDINATE TOURS TO OTHER HIGH-TECH SCHOOLS
Visit schools within a 50-mile radius to learn about equipment being used there. HOLD "COMPUTER DAY" FOR PARENTS
Invite parents for a hands-on computer day. Provide child care and offer computer instruction. Teach them to use the software their children use daily. Plan enough instruction on word processing to allow them to create and print out a brief letter to their child. HAVE STUDENTS EVALUATE SOFTWARE
Choose a class to evaluate each new piece of software. Better yet, develop a "techie tribe" that always, when new software arrives, fills out the registration card, boots it up, and explores its capabilities. Let the students demonstrate it to their teacher and the technology coordinator.

Conni Gordon : Speaker . Author . Artist . Entertainer
Most Prolific Art Teacher
[Conni Gordon] (b. New Britain Connecticut) first devised a 4-step system of teaching painting in 1944/45. On 16 Aug 1965 she conducted the largest ever art class (for Tupperware) in Orlando, Florida, USA taking the 'pain' out of painting for 2500 'first-time' artists. Through the medium of large movie screens, TV series and 17 art books she has subsequently taught uncountable millions.1989 "Business executives need your instant creative thinking techniques."
Ken Blanchard , Co-Author, THE ONE MINUTE MANAGER "So are artists made or born? Most people would say that they are born with their gifts. Conni Gordon believes it can be taught. And knowing Conni as I do, I have to agree with her.... I have been in the room, as she takes a group of average people - most who have never been able to paint or draw - and has them all paint a nice picture within an hour.... [She] does it by showing you how to tap into your creativity."

Planning Guide for Partner Churches for GBGM's 'In Mission Together' Program NOTE: Once the particular GBGM partnership coordinator involved has assigned you a partner church, the following is meant to be an aid to your planning. It surely is not inclusive of everything or every way to proceed. Always feel free to seek the assistance of the GBGM partnership coordinator for the country you are involved in. They have traveled to and are familiar with their assigned countries, and are able and willing to provide considerable assistance. Please keep in communication with them as you proceed - we can all learn from each other, and sharing between partner churches and the partnership coordinator in the future will be a goal of this program. I. INITIAL STEPS:
  • Put together a group/team of interested persons who will spearhead the IN MISSION TOGETHER program. It would be best to choose a layperson as the team/group leader. Pastors and staff should be included, but it would be best if they were not the leader, since Pastors move periodically. Perhaps this is the Mission Committee as a whole, or perhaps it's a smaller sub-committee. Make sure there are some youth involved. Are there any persons with heritage from your assigned country, in the congregation who might become involved? Begin to meet to pray for God's guidance in this new endeavor, and to discuss future plans.

Frequently Asked Questions What is a SIFE Chapter?
A SIFE Chapter is a group of people working together at a university to learn, practice and teach others how to succeed in a global market economy. They do this by devising, developing, delivering and documenting educational outreach projects in their community. A chapter comprises a number of students, a member of university staff and an advisory group of business people. How many students are needed to establish a SIFE Chapter?
SIFE Australia will recognise any group that is capable of mounting an outreach project in its local community but, as affiliation with the university’s student association as a club or society is needed for insurance purposes, this may dictate the minimum number of members. Typically, a group of five to ten students emerge as the leadership group but as many students as wish to can be involved in SIFE projects. An effective chapter will have from 20 to 100 student members. What do SIFE students do?
SIFE students work together, with the help and guidance of the staff member and business advisory group, to create innovative activities that teach others about enterprise. These activities are called outreach projects. Students also develop ways to fund their projects, manage themselves, publicise their activities, network with local, national and international business executives and have fun. Each chapter prepares a written annual report and an oral presentation describing the projects that have been undertaken and the results achieved. The report and presentation are made to a panel of business judges who determine which chapter has conducted the most effective program.

    Business Program
Would you like a career in accounting, banking, finance management, public policy or a related area? A business degree may be what you are looking for. Our programs based upon courses in business, arts, sciences, and humanities provide you with a solid, well-rounded education to help you achieve your career goals. The Business Program offers a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) with an emphasis in either accounting, public administration, business administration, and economics. Students who wish to continue their education beyond a four-year degree can obtain a Master of Business Administration. But we offer you more than a degree; we offer you personal attention. Classes are small and the faculty take a personal interest in the students. You won't be just another number! The faculty in the Business Program have years of experience, both academically and in the business world. Most continue to provide professional service to the community. And unlike many larger universities, graduate students do not teach classes. Our classes are taught by our faculty. The Business Program sponsors one of the most active student organizations on campus. The Society for the Advancement of Management (SAM) Club is an internationally- affiliated group of business and non- business majors whose focus is the development of professional business skills through interaction with community professionals. The SAM Club invites guest speakers to the meetings, it organizes fund raisers, it participates in community affairs, it takes a trip every semester to nearby cities to tour companies and see first hand how they conduct business, and much more.

Panhandler's life gives kids lesson in homelessness
by George Myers Jr. Columbus Dispatch Staff Reporter
Saturday, March 25, 2000. For a group of spirited fifth-graders in the suburbs, homelessness isn't about what can happen to somebody somewhere else. It's about tackling it at home with all available resources.
"It's the nation's No. 1 problem,'' said Lele Yutzy, one of Laurie Anthony's students at Riverside Elementary School. "And we've got to fix it.'' Anthony's students work on solutions to homelessness planning fund-raisers, writing letters to Washington, budgeting to purchase goods and more. Thanks to the guidance and an "unexpected adventure'' of their teacher, the children can relate to the problem, which they hope never to experience firsthand. "I'd be lonely scared beyond belief that no one would be there to protect me,'' fifth-grader Megan Shade said. "The worst thing,'' classmate Grace Miller said, "would be trying to find anybody that would actually even care.''

    http://spartanscheer.tripod.com/id60_m.htm
    Parents/Guardians Dear Parent or Guardian:
I bought a T-shirt at last year's NCA conference that says: "In Cheerleading there IN NO SUCH THING AS AN OFF SEASON!"; this only BEGINS to identify how huge a commitment this team is - especially for coaches, managers and volunteers! Add to this the fact that Cheer is the most dangerous sport AND involves skills that few team members have even TRIED before! In addition, because teaching new stunts is probably the most dangerous aspect of the sport, I have chosen to divide the team into smaller groups for stunting practice (i.e. more practices to coach!). This pretty much sums up why a minimal level of Adult Volunteerism on behalf of each athlete is requested I therefore respectfully request that either you, as parents, or another responsible adult on your son/daughter's behalf, support the team with at least six hours of volunteering per month.
Most volunteers find participating with the team and its activities a lot of fun. Most parents who do volunteer see this as a last chance to be directly involved with their son or daughter's interests while they are still (technically) in childhood!

Though each athlete is NOT required to ATTEND all practices, coaches and volunteers MUST be there for the team at all practices

The Ambassadors are official representatives of the university who contribute services and ideas on campus and in the community in several areas including academic and social. To be selected as an Ambassador is an honor and a responsibility which is bestowed on promising business students at Webber International University. PHI BETA LAMBDA (PBL) Phi Beta Lambda is the university counterpart of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). This organization was created to give students who are interested in business an opportunity to meet other business students as well as many of the state's and nation's business leaders. PBL students participate in community service activities and fund raisers, and may also compete in sanctioned district, state and national competitions. Students learn to work towards a common goal, see business theories applied to the real world, and get a chance to network with possible employers. This gives a college graduate an added advantage when it comes time to leave school and begin his or her career.
