I was first introduced to the Tetons and Jackson Hole as a child. My family, from the South, brought me here while on vacation in 1952. A seven-year-old southern boy's imagination is easily sparked by a rustic log cabin and mountains covered with snow in June. Two days in this valley of the Tetons produced a proclamation of intention to live here someday. The love affair that began as a little boy's dream continues; IÂ’ve been living that dream for the better part of the past 36 years! It has been my desire from the beginning to share the sights I've seen, the experiences I've had, and the love I've found in this valley called Jackson Hole. With the advent of the Internet, I am now able to share in a way I never dreamed would be possible when I first arrived in Jackson Hole.

Pinhole photography is an escape. An escape from the demands of the incredible technology of photographic equipment today. Within pinhole photography there is a simplicity in photography. This uncomplicated beauty is what attracted me to the art of photography in the first place. Now, I escape to this elementary place whenever I can. I run from my computer, scanner, Nikons and Hassleblads to this mysterious and enchanted world of the pinhole and photography. For me, it is a way of meditating, of centering myself and my love of imagery. The attractiveness of the pinhole camera's form and charm of approach lead undeniably towards an uncomplicated corroboration between camera and subject. The learned disciplines of the pinhole camera lead to a mysterious quality photograph. From light falloff to infinite depth of field and long exposures, the image's presence is almost eerie in its aberration from traditional photographic processes. The sacred beauty of these ancient places I have photographed can scarcely be translated, but perhaps their intrigue may be visually interpreted through the pinhole photography. I hope you enjoy your own escape while viewing these images of New Mexico.
