The Conference will explore the mathematics curriculum of today and tomorrow with special focus on technologyâs impact and application in the classroom. The primary focus of the Conference for each participant will be two seminar courses. Each course, led by an experienced classroom teacher, will be limited to a small group and will meet for two hours each day. Using TI Interactive! participants will model classroom activities appropriate for students in pre-algebra and algebra I. Exploring real data gathered with a CBL or through the internet, the labs utilize mathematics such as box plots, histograms, measures of variability, linear regression and median-median lines. Pattern investigations, transformations, coastlines and fractals, applications in geometry and discrete math applications will also be considered. TI Interactive!, CBLâs, spreadsheets, and the Geometerâs Sketchpad will be used in the course. No previous knowledge of the software is assumed.
